My daughter plays rep basketball and this ball only sees the inside of her gym bag and and the inside of the gym. It is never used outdoors, she has a separate ball for practicing outdoors. The ball looks brand new because it has been taken such good care of.But after one year it no longer hold air and I have to buy a new ball. The cheaper outdoor balls we have, that have been abused, have lasted 15+ years. It was a good ball while it lasted, but I feel like a ball of this price and quality level should last more than a year. I sent feedback to Spalding, and got no reply.

When I think of quality made basketballs, I immediately think of Spalding. With this basketball in particular, I am not let down one bit in it's quality. I am quite impressed with how solid and quality the material feels when holding it in your hands. It has a nice weight to it, and even better bounce. Since it is made for indoor games that is exactly where I wanted to test this new basketball out. My son plays basketball so I took this to his gym, and decided to shoot some hoops with him. He was so excited for a new ball, and it was his first basketball from this brand. While playing, I noticed immediately how well it bounced and how much smoother it was while dribbling the ball. We have never played with a ball of this quality, and you can tell how much of a difference it makes while playing. The coach seen us playing and he even played around with it and commented that he needed to buy some for the upcoming games. I also took it to a family get together and we played hoops inside on a wooden floor and it played just as well and just as smoothly. I am so impressed, and this ball also looks great aesthetically and very classic. From now on, I will only buy this brand of basketballs because I can see that this one will last us for a lot longer than our other basketballs. I like how deep the black grooving is on the ball as well, it helps create a better hold, along with the texture of the ball itself. I recommend everyone to get this basketball if you are considering purchasing.

I purchased a brand new $80 TF1000. I've been playing Noonball with my coworkers for like 25 years so I have some experience with basketballs. I've tested many out, and as a group we decided the TF1000 was by far the best since our University had some we could use. I decided to buy one for our group and it was a total DUD! It looks great, feels great, but will not bounce at all. I need to blow it up to about 13 lbs psi for it to bounce about as good as the other ones we play with which are blown up at the 8psi like they should be. It's hard as a rock, but still will not bounce. We thought maybe breaking it in would help, so we tried and tried, but it still doesn't bounce. I notice that mine is a newer version and the decals are a little different from the other ones ... MoreI purchased a brand new $80 TF1000. I really don't think that is normal, I really do think I just got a dud, or defective ball. I should have just replaced it day one when I noticed it doesn't bounce. I've never seen anything like this, It looks like it should bounce, but it doesn't. I've refilled it up with air multiple times wondering if that would help, but nothing helps other than making it like a solid rock and putting way too much air in to bounce even close to how it should bounce. I would like to add a picture of my ball next to the older style, but don't know how to add pictures.

I purchase about 20 basketballs per year. I'm an early adopter of new basketballs and happy to try them and generally have low expectations. I purchased this ball after learning it's the ball that my local states use as the "official high school" ball (normally we play with Evos at my house - but Wilson cannot seem to keep them in stock). After having this a few weeks this ball still seems a bit uneven -- raised areas near the seams - and does not seem to hold air very well. It's been in the same spot as all our other balls (indoors) and I have to put more air in it at least once per week. Kinda weird and frustrating.
As a busy working Wife & Mother, I love when I have time to be able to sit and relax and just hang out with my family. Generally, weekends are reserved for family activities and since my kids are so active and love the outdoors, basketball is often a family favored sport. For the past few months, our old basketball had really been showing signs of wear and I decided to get a new basketball. After 3-4 days of researching a variety of basketballs online, I decided to get a Spalding TF-1000 LEGACY BASKETBALL. When it arrived, I was quite pleased with its quality stitching, weight, and my ability to grip it easily and my family loved the iconic Spalding burnt orange color. When it arrived, I was quite pleased with its quality stitching, weight, and my ability to grip it easily and my family loved the iconic Spalding burnt orange color. But after, 6-7 days of continuous use in the hot, dry Texas sun, we noticed that the ball began to get an odd bounce whenever you dribbled it and it did not seem to matter if we were playing indoors or outdoors. Also, the ball became slick during play, along the side where the logo and bar code are and everyone seemed to have a hard time handling the ball, even just simply bouncing it. So much for quality and longevity. Huge Disappointment!
Everyone loves to play Basketball and so do I. But playing Basketball with Spalding TF-1000 Legacy Basketball is a total different experience. I could feel that this is a superior basketball, constructed with products and technology made to last. It is made of soft carcass and deep channels for better feel and play. However, if I ever have to purchase another basketball I will sure purchase the Spalding TF-1000 Legacy Basketball again and again.
Overall great ball! Loved it , got me through a bunch of sessions. Super light , with a great bounce and feel to it . You can dribble it great and shoot from deep because it is light. I am comparing this ball between Wilson Evolution, as everyone at gyms have a wilson evolution thought i’d give this one a chance . I don’t think it’s as cushioned ( softer composite leather than Wilson ) , or as balanced because it’s so light. Definitely not an outdoor ball AT ALL - please don’t use outdoors like you can ( although you still shouldn’t ) with an Evolution ball because it’s higher quality . Sometimes ( RARELY ) i’d throw it off the painted indoor brick wall for a artificial pass when i play alone or bounce it once or twice outside on the way to my car and noticed it ... MoreOverall great ball! Sometimes ( RARELY ) i’d throw it off the painted indoor brick wall for a artificial pass when i play alone or bounce it once or twice outside on the way to my car and noticed it made the ball AGE scuff faster than it has all year long playing indoor. THIS BALL IS STRICTLY INDOOR USE ONLY do not bounce off the court.Overall i give this ball a 9.9/10 , if there wasn’t an Evo ball this ball is great i’d specifically get this ball for dribbling practices , or deep 3 shots .BUTFor the price MIGHT AS WELL … i’d go with an Evo ball , overall Evolution ball is higher quality , more padded/ grip , more weight for a consistent balanced shot , AGES beautiful!and MOST REAL HOOPERS USE EVO … it sucks adjusting on the fly from a lighter ball to a heavier one ! JUST GET EVOAfter playing with the spalding for a year i thought it felt amazing compared to any other basketball , but when pick up an Evo ball right after you feel the difference tremendously!overall a solid ball , would be great for younger kids who can’t throw up heavier or longer shots/ballsand still great for fast dribble drills and quick shots
I needed a #6 - 28.5" size ball for my 11 yr old daughter who is advancing from #5 - 27.5" rubber basketball. I tested the ball and the surface has a more tacky grip than comparable composite balls. But not as much so as rubber a ball. The ball weight feels very similar to full size and notably heavier than a #5 rubber ball. The bounce does have as much rise as a rubber ball, more consistent with indoor balls. The shape is very concentric when fully inflated. After two hours on a dusty asphalt court, the yellow ALL SURFACE painted on lettering is losing it's luster. Everything else is just burnished from black top dust.
Whether you’re a high school, college, or passionate recreational player, this is my recommended go-to choice. This is currently the best college level basketball on the market. The standout feature of this basketball is its grip—it’s a 10/10 and rivals full grain leather basketballs. The moisture management system is the best in its class—it’s incredibly difficult for this ball to slip. Sweat dissipates rapidly no matter how much you rub on it.The grip is outstanding both when wet and dry. The deep seams and microfiber composite cover provide for excellent ball control. The quality of this basketball is probably the best of any composite basketball. I would recommend this ball to any serious basketball player.
