They have simple, sleek designs, and perform very well at what they are supposed to do, without needing additional frills. The Beard Hedger fits into this portfolio very well. It has one trimming attachment, whose height is adjusted with the included dial on the trimmer in 0.5mm increments up to a max length of 10mm. There is a battery indicator which tells you how much charge is left/how close it is to the max charge when charging, and an included USB-C charger for charging. There is one switch to turn the trimmer on/off, and that is about it on the outside. On the inside however, you have everything that you’d likely want from a beard trimmer. The trimmer is IPX7 rated, so you can use it comfortably in the shower, and it makes clean-up super easy since you can simply remove the trimming attachment and rinse everything under water to clean it. The trimmer has a 7,200 RPM motor which managed to slice through my thicker beard with no noticeably difficulty, and given the ergonomic design of the trimmer, it was easy to cut the angle of my jawline and chin. I had no issues with the trimmer pulling or yanking hairs, and it was able to trim my entire beard without breaking a sweat. Honestly, it is a no frills high performing trimmer. It cuts well, is convenient to clean, easy to use, and stores nicely in its case with the charged cable and attachment.Honestly, there isn’t much more you could want from a beard trimmer. My only complaints would be that I wish it came with a second attachment for longer beard trimming (10mm is a bit short for how I tend to keep my goatee), and that I wish it had a pedestal to hold the trimmer on the counter, instead of needing to put it away in the case after each use. Neither of these are deal breakers by any means, but would be nice to have in the future, and could maybe be added at future points.All-in-all, the Beard Hedger has it where it counts, and performs exceptionally well at doing exactly what it is supposed to. Definitely recommend it if you are looking for a simple and efficient trimmer!

The plastic length guide is fully detachable and also makes cleaning much easier. You set the trim length utilizing the twist dial on the front - in millimeters. Where I'm used to #2 or #4 on my Wahl, doing the math to convert it over and make sure I had the right trim length was tricky - and almost always where I go wrong on so many of these battery-operated trimmers. My concern was unwarranted - the trim length is adjustable enough that a course-correction on the fly keeps missed hairs to a minimum while also avoiding "mow lines" in your hair/beard. While I accidentally trimmed my sideburns too low, I was able to fade the trim and it turned out OK.While giving my son a haircut, he didn't complain that the trimmer was pulling (rare!) and actually enjoyed being able to set the trimmer himself. The maneuverability made the trimmer a faster option than the Wahl. All in all: the trimmer is light and responsive, cuts well, and is easily adjustable. Well worth your time and investment, BUT: add your own brush to clean it and take the time to practice some cuts on the taller settings before you really go for it.

Great for quickly changing lengths for the different parts of my face without having to constantly swap guards like my other trimmer. The guard also removes and goes back in very easily and cleaning the blades was very simple, especially if you have used the Manscaped products before. This is a great trimmer for anyone looking to quickly trim those scruffy or crazy beards when they get a little out of control.I think my only con would be my facial hair doesn't grow fast enough to use it more and it has now become my favorite Manscaped product.

I've tried a couple other wireless solutions and found them lacking.I have pretty thick hairs that sprout from every corner of my face, and because I work from home they don't often get the care they need on a regular basis. That means I need a strong tool that can chop through my facial thicket and clean up what sometimes becomes an unruly mess (see before pic attached). In my short time using it, the Beard Hedger has proved to be a capable tool with a high quality build that feels excellent in the hand. It's about time a personal care device manufacturer treated its customers to an experience as nice as using a smartphone. Everything from receiving and opening up the box, to removing and charging the trimmer, to using and washing up feels premium and well thought-out.Upon first opening the box, you see the trimmer's travel case, which opens to reveal the device with a small USB wall plug and USB A-to-C cord. Thank goodness for USB-C compatibility! The case is a rectangle about 2.5 x 2.5 x 7.5 inches, made with a slightly rigid by soft-feeling material with a zipper down one side. The first I did was charge the Beard Hedger, and I was pleasantly surprised to see the LED indicator on the front lights up with 4 segments to show state of charge. As the trimmer charged, I perused the instructions, which are very nicely made and lay out all you need to know about charging, using, and cleaning the Hedger.Later in the evening, I set up for my first use. The dial on the body of the Beard Hedger goes from 0.5 mm (very short) to 10 mm (still kinda short), so this isn't the ideal tool for guys who want a longer beard, unless you hold your ability to carefully wield this device with dexterity around the tips of longer hairs. I settled on 8.5, and went to work. The trimming experience is quite good, and I LOVE the ability to not have to fight with a cord as I moved around my face, clipping away at the forest of hair that grows there. Near the end of my trimming session, I twisted the dial down further to clean up the area where my beard gives way to skin on my neck, and it did a very good job of blending.I will say you shouldn't expect this to have the same horsepower as a trimmer with a wall-plug, simply because it takes a LOT of juice to keep that motor running. The Beard Hedger is effective and efficient, but I did find myself making a couple passes at my beard and removing the guard to clean it once in a while. Speaking of cleaning, I found it very easy to rinse the clipper after use. Bravo! All in all, the experience of using the Beard Hedger is delightful, and I found it quite capable of taming my mess of hair. I'm even thinking about not waiting so long before my next trim up to give the thing a break, haha. 5 stars!

Great trimmer for shorter beards.

The Manscaped Beard Hedger is a rechargeable beard trimming system. The battery life is rated for 60 minutes of run time per charge. It is a nice change not having the restriction of a cord while trimming. It has a dial that adjusts the depth of the trimmer comb instead of the clip-on cutting guard/guides that I have used for a couple of decades. The unit is waterproof, and it is stated that it shines in the shower. I think the water-proofness makes cleaning much quicker and easier than my current unit. I also see that there is no mention of having to oil the clippers as I do my current one. The oil gets hair stuck in in and makes cleaning a longer task. I also see that there is no mention of having to oil the clippers as I do my current one. The oil gets hair stuck in in and makes cleaning a longer task. You can call me a chicken but I'm not going to use it in the shower. My guess is that the amount of beard hair I trim off (my beard grows fast, and I tend to trim every month or so) would turn into regular expensive plumber visits if I trimmed in the shower. My first step in trimming my circle beard is to trim the bottom of the moustache. I do this with the bare blade. Before touching a new machine to my face, I decided to try out the groomer on some body hair. I started at 5 mm and went down to .05 and then to the bare blade. The clipper worked well at all of the settings that I used on my chest. I got no bites; no pulls and no razor burn with either edge to skin or shaving type motions. I ended up with a nice smooth chest. Before starting on the face, I realized that the trimmer comb adjustment wheel is calibrated in mm and for decades I have trimmed my beard and communicated my desired hair length to barbers in guide comb numbers. I looked up my current brand of clippers comb guide number to mm conversion chart. I found that the 10mm maximum depth adjustment is equivalent to a #3 guide comb on my current clipper. I traditionally use a #4 for my beard. I was a little disappointed to have to cut my beard 3mm shorter than usual. After trimming the base of my moustache with the bare blade, I put the trimmer comb on and set the dial to the maximum 10 mm setting. My habit has been to start at the bottom, press the guide against my skin and trim upwards. Doing this motion, the trimmer comb allows some of the hair to reach the blade while pushing others on top of the comb. It took quite a few more swipes and a little more time than I am used to, to get all of the beard hair trimmed to my satisfaction. The next morning, after showering I noticed a few stray hairs and touched them up. I had no problem with the short settings on the adjustable comb or the bare blade performance. I love that the unit is cordless and easy to use. The waterproofing and lack of needing oil make clean up the easiest I have ever had. I really like this clipper but can't give it all 5 stars based on the adjustable combs performance when set at 10mm (wide open) and not opening up to the equivalent of a standard #4 comb. It would also be nice to mark the dial in standard comb number equivalents instead of mm. In spite of a couple of negatives, I will retire my barber style trimmer and guide comb set.

Like angels gently trimming my beard on a cloud

First things first, that title might be a BIT of an exaggeration, but I really like the way this beard trimmer cuts hair. And I think that is most important. In the end, it cuts my beard gently and relatively neatly. That said there are a few things I would point out that were not exactly what I had expected.Bad:Keep in mind I have used this trimmer once so, like any trimmer, with time, I should be able to “dial in” how it works better. But as of now, I’m having trouble with the size of the trimmer. More specifically, the width of the blade. I’m not a very large guy, and my face/neck isn’t either, so I was struggling to get the hair where my neck meets my chin because the blade is so wide. I’m not a very large guy, and my face/neck isn’t either, so I was struggling to get the hair where my neck meets my chin because the blade is so wide. This unfortunately led to some patchy spots on my neck that I had to spend more time trying to clean up the best I could. One other thing to note, I wouldn’t call this an “all in one” trimmer. (And neither does Manscaped I don’t believe.) But it can do a lot without needing to find or change all those covers which is nice. This won’t get you a super close shave like a razor or foil trimmer will but you can still get it pretty short. Think 5 o'clock shadow level. But if you’re doing a ton of shaping or want a very close shave anywhere, (like your neck) you’ll still need another tool to complete your look.Good:But with that out of the way, I will say, I really like the trimmer so far. Like I said earlier, it is a very smooth and gentle cut. You really don’t feel any tugging or pulling or anything like that. Time will tell if this will last.I figured out too late to start at the longest size and slowly dial down until you find the length you like for your first use. I ended up a little shorter than I wanted because I thought I knew what length I wanted but it was wrong. If I had started big and worked my way down, I could have had better results. The trimmer is also waterproof - IPX7 I believe it said. Although, I was pretty surprised that information was so hard to find. (The back of the trimmer does show the “waterproof” icon which is nice) but I couldn’t find the IP rating in the included manual and it was only a small print on the box. It made me second guess if it can be used in the shower and I wish Manscaped had put that, arguably big, feature more front and center on the box and in the included paperwork. But anyway, I did try it in the shower as well and it worked just fine. It was much easier to clean up than trying to get all the little hairs out of the sink.I did NOT try it on my body anywhere and Manscaped’s official comment on that matter appears to be something along the lines of you can do whatever you want to your body, but we made a different trimmer that is better for your body trimming so buy that to be safe. Now, obviously this could be more of a sales technique than anything, and based on the way the trimmer handled my beard, I’m sure it would be gentle on your chest, or arms or whatever you’re trimming but it is not recommended and I didn’t want to get cut somewhere just to review a beard trimmer. But I would be curious to try their other trimmer and see how they could possibly get an even more gentle and safe blade to cut more sensitive areas.Overall:The trimmer comes with a 3 stage LED battery indicator, a USBC cable and (hey this is not common anymore) the power adapter as well. And it all fits in a very nice sleek case.If you have a beard but don’t do any crazy design or trimming, I think you would really enjoy this trimmer and would recommend it to my buddies. It’s a big name, and a bit gimmicky but they cut your hair well and that’s what matters.

The Best Beard Trimmer I've Owned
13 February 2023

I have owned many beard trimmers over the years, most notably from the big brand that pretty much everyone uses. Never really gave a second thought to them, they seem like they all do the same exact thing and there is barely any innovation or creativeness between new models. Never have I been as impressed from a beard trimmer until I tried out the Manscaped Beard Groomer. Overall, this trimmer is fantastic, it cuts very cleanly, accurately, the mess is extremely minimal with how it catches the hair (more on that later) and has many modern features that make it even more of a great product.First, the cleanliness of this razor is great. Most of the times when I trim my beard, the hair flies everywhere all over the counter into every nook and cranny it can find and my girlfriend will find them and yell at me for making a mess again! No more with this trimmer. I am not sure what they did but it clumps all the hair together and drops it straight down, no more having stray beard hairs fly around everywhere when you trim! Absolute game changer with that. Second, I love the new technologies they have incorporated with this charger, most notably making it a type-c device. This is so nice for traveling, if you happen to forget the power adapter, no problem, just literally plug this into any usb c port on a device and you can charge your razor! The battery life is also very strong as well. The case is well made, perfect for traveling. You can adjust the razor up to a 10mm cut per standard trimmers. Also, for all you curious people.... I did try it downstairs on the family jewels, while it does work, I would not recommend it for down there. It is definitely not fine tuned for the yambag region but in a pinch it works.Great product! Can't wait to get years of use out of this one.

Its intuitive zoom wheel allows you to select from 20 different length settings so that it can be tailored to suit your desired look. The removable adjustable guide comb allows you to choose from those length settings ranging from 0.5mm to 10mm - perfect for tackling even the thickest facial hair with ease. The advanced firmware also has an overcharging protection circuit included, just in case you leave your trimmer plugged in for too long.Durability isn’t an issue either as The Beard Hedger is waterproof rated IPX7 - meaning it can handle immersion in up to one meter of fresh water for up to 30 minutes! less accessories and ease to trim bear

The electric beard hedger from Manscaped simplify the number of accessories to carry on, and ease the process of adjusting how much to trim.It has only one attachment which allow to guide and can adjust up to 20 lengths by rotating mechanism to enlarge or shorten to the desired length. It comes with a case that is quite well protective of the trimmer, and includes charging cable. Interestingly, the trimmer has usb-c port while the other end has usb-a and it comes with the power adaptor for usb-a.The charging status is embedded in the same button that turn on/off, and it has a light indicator that tells how much of battery is left of if it is fully charged.Trimming process is not very different compared to other brand have used. But the guiding attachment on how it is designed does help to control trimming desired length. As contour the angle of the face or edge of bear, the attachment sort of assist the direction as push while trimming desired cut.The blade is titanium coated t-blade according to the brand, but during the usage can tell is sharp and smooth. Also, the blade is detachable, and allow to remove the heir trapped within. The rotating control has goes from 1 to 10, in between increase by 0.5. The only thing it has to be set before starting or pause in between if need different length in between. It is not easy to change it during the process. Need to pause, check the number and adjust and continue. But better than other brand that need to remove and replace the attachment according to the trimming. To resume:1. It help to ease the process2. Doesn’t have to replace blade or the guide attachment3. Trimming is smooth4. Multifunction as removing the attachment it can be used to shave the head as well.5. Easy to maintain and carry for travel.6. Doesn’t need multiple blades and accessories to identify for specific trimming need. What I wish it were better:1. Maybe the material, it is plastic which makes light but would be different experience if it were metal as craft the trimming2. Its size, same as the carrying case. Although it does look nice in bear eyes, upon placing in a bag it feels bulky.
