How did Nintendo do this?" it's always the case! (even with most of the Zelda handheld games this is the case too!)With every Nintendo console Zelda game Nintendo have always blown people as in the gamers & the competition away, then you had the GameCubes 'The WindWaker' with a 'Special Edition Ocarina Of Time' & the console version of 'The Four Sword Adventures' then the Wii's 'Twilight Princess' & then the completely & utterly different & pretty the pretty much none related to any Zelda game 'Zelda Breath of The Wild' happened & these few yrs this later 'Tears Of The Kingdom' happened which is pretty much an exact replica of BOTW if you take a real look at it & seriously think about it, nothing has really changed apart from motorised vehicles in Hyrule (what a sell out & a way to make pariahs out of us fans & our close to 40yr backing of 'The Legend Of Zelda' franchise & Nintendo, Thanks!) then you got 'Skyward Sword' which along with BOTW were both WiiU releases later to be released on the Switch & we got a few lame hybrid (meaning not even Nintendo made, just given the license to use the characters) 'Hyrule Warriour' games & we were grateful for 'Links Awakening' on the Switch, now I've completed every single one of those games listed above over pretty much a 40yr period, every single one! & all of my favourite bosses, dungeons, music & sound fx's, unlockables, storylines, characters & so on that I remember come from all over those titles but there's absolutely nothing from Breath Of The Wild or Tears Of The Kingdom! Now as for Tears Of The Kingdom so many people are moaning about the graphics being awful but they're clearly equal to those of BOTW which were classed as excellent so (?) & it's seemingly obvious that Nintendo will do the same thing with this as they did with BOTW & 'Skyward Sword' & thats to re-release it at a later date nicely made, looking & sounding how they wanted it to look & sound so the graphics/sounds will get better but they're more than just OK here they're fine & stylish & that's on an original Switch which then brings to light the whole was the OLED system really necessary as it was made very clear by Nintendo that a new system in its entirety was/is due as the Switch is old using their own words (Nintendo got greedy with that OLED trick, very greedy! it's a nice console but just before another)Now good news for the 'lifelong hardcore fans of Zelda' who've been playing since 2016's release of BOTW 30yrs after 'Zelda' debuted people are saying that this has got to be the last Zelda game ever after BOTW, 'Skyward Sword' & this here 'Tears Of The Kingdom' let me tell you that they're completely wrong & uneducated in the subject, there is no way (trust me I'm an expert here) that Nintendo would finish Zelda off at all as it's so easy to carry it on, I can come up with a story for at least another ten Zelda games so it's far from the being the last Zelda game ever I guarantee that 100%!Now again with this 'Tears Of The Kingdom' people are complaining about how hard it is & it is it's very hard to gather Rupees alone plus it took me over 20 hrs to find Hylian Rice! The game it is huge & well worth a play but it feels like I'm playing some non Zelda fantasy game RPG & certainly not a very distinct & incredibly cleverly made Zelda game! Now think about this if you've made it this far: the initial quests are The Four Phenomenon (4 divine beasts) who all point back to the leaders from BOTW the same leaders & areas if the 4 Devine Beasts! Find The Koroks, Collect Memories, Run Side Quests some easy some tedious, some pointless & some a must! Enter Shrines for rewards to gain a Heart Vessel or a piece of Stamina Wheel in exchange four 4 finished Shrine Pieces, Take Photos, Upgrade your Purah Pad (Shieka Slate) & Unlock Towers to Unlock the Map, now I'm 100% certain that I've done all of this before, I'm sure of it? Of course yeah playing 'Breath Of The Wild'! This is nothing new!Its a good game my main problems are the vehicles trust me it's just wrong, Cars, Segways, Flying Machine, Etc in Hyrule is wrong & it's perverse to the legend itself!Online players ruin this too constantly putting up cheats that they've used their computer knowledge to figure out & the I can do this & I've done that online just leave us to play it, find out for ourselves & do whatever we end up doing in whatever way that we choose. Now is this worthy of a play YES absolutely there's hundreds upon hundreds of hours of things included here to occupy your mind & it's not stupidly overpriced (new ones coming for the new Nintendo console is the reason for this) plus I genuinely found Very to be one of the best priced places to find this game, plus they later put the sticker sheet up on the games sales page without raising the initial price where the only other place I knew of who had the sticker sheet were charging £10 extra to include it!I'll play the main quest through here with this 'Tears If The Kingdom' (clever title I like watching the tears fall as it looks great & I like recalling time riding them back up into the clouds) & I'll play the necessary Side Quests & I'll just have to say goodbye to just off 40yrs of 'The Legend Of Zelda'This 'Tears Of The Kingdom' if you liked 'Breath Of The Wild' you'll obviously love this even though it's pretty much the very exact same thing all over again!Still it's more than just playable, even the new abilities which I was dreading have turned out to be far better than expected, The new Zelda fans are loving it, The older Zelda fans are playing it because nearly 40yrs of Zelda is hard to give up & even if you haven't played a Zelda game before you can jump right in as it's a new story & it's complete with in game instructions just to get you started or to give you a reminder if you're returning?!It's worth a play but a Hyrulian Warrior in a blue tunic & not the traditional always has been green? Motorised vehicles, The none related classic game music & sound FX, the missing dungeons, dungeon keys, dungeon masters & the pretty much dumping of everything Zelda is just going too far & it's just taking too much, Link will be back in a green tunic again with proper dungeons etc I guarantee it!

I absolutely fell in love with Breath of the Wild, so getting the sequel was a must. I love that they brought the familiarity of the BotW Hyrule but added new things to discover and show how Hyrule has changed with this iteration. I think the main dungeons/puzzles were an improvement, however the sage abilities definitely paled in comparison to the champion abilities in both usefulness and ease of use. The graphics are as stunning as BotW, and it was nice to check in on some of the characters (although some were noticeably missing… I’m looking at you, Kass). The amount of customization is pretty impressive; be it weapons, Link’s attire, and even the paraglider. The additional horse slots at the inn is awesome, as I still ride my trusted steeds (even if there are more practical travel options). The ability to bring your horses from BotW into TotK is also something that brought me joy, even if we didn’t get the ancient horse gear this go around. I do wish there was a bit more post calamity tie in/explanation. The destruction is still very visible, but major landmarks of the calamity are noticeably missing with no real explanation. I get it’s a new title, not BotW 2, but it’s still a sequel. It’s definitely a changed Hyrule, it’s not so lonely, it’s less “wild,” there’s more characters throughout.

While many ideas are present to make this game new and interesting, none of them seem to coalesce into an experience that properly expands on the ideas of the previous entry. For example, new mechanics like building and fusing materials are present, but the game also puts a heavy focus on new locations such as the sky islands in the trailer. However, the building mechanics and the locations rarely connect together in meaningful ways that do not feel forced and obvious. Aside from a few occasions, one's building abilities are not challenged in this game and creative thinking is not necessary to solve the puzzles ... MoreAfter completing the game in 100 hours, I ended up feeling rather disappointed in the overall game after waiting for 4 years since the game's announcement. For example, new mechanics like building and fusing materials are present, but the game also puts a heavy focus on new locations such as the sky islands in the trailer. However, the building mechanics and the locations rarely connect together in meaningful ways that do not feel forced and obvious. Aside from a few occasions, one's building abilities are not challenged in this game and creative thinking is not necessary to solve the puzzles presented. Instead, building breaks many puzzles and allows them to be solved without a clear understanding of the mechanics of the problem. The inclusion of these abilities without integration into locations or puzzles seems strange and a missed opportunity. Along with the new locations, old locations also have changes to make them different. But these changes often result to clutter being added on top of existing locations rather than meaningful alterations. New rocks and decorations may be added, or some new location may be put on the side. These locations do not enhance the experience of exploration, but rather create busy and confusing scenes. These changed locations also do not incorporate the new building mechanics well, leading to the abilities to continue to feel underused. Finally, the game does little to address concerns from the previous game that people hoped to see fixed in this title. Story and dungeons in the last game felt underbaked, and with this entry reusing the same world and mechanics it felt like a great opportunity to create more elaborate narratives and levels. While it appears that Nintendo attempted to create more in these spaces, they ended up making something that feels either of the same quality or worse. All dungeons follow the same structure and can quickly be completed, and the story adds detail and complexity around it without actually constructing a plot in the center. Nor does this plot have relation to any of the new mechanics introduced. It is a shame that these weakest aspects of the previous game do not appear to be any more finished in this one. Overall, while the building and fusing in this game, along with the new locations, may appeal to some and be impressive in a technical sense, the ideas are not properly implemented in a way that makes it feel whole. For a series built on strong direction, this game feels shockingly directionless and unsure of where to go. It would be interesting to learn how the pandemic and development troubles had altered the game's development, and whether there were any major changes that resulted from it.

Beautiful this is the Pinnacle of gaming. Amazing combat, exciting gameplay, minimal story and plenty of time spent... exploring nature. I find this game so breathtaking, I'll be so impressed climbing a mountain for it's natural beauty I will literally close my blinds...as I get irritated by real sunlight haha. This game has fun bosses, creative ways to play, and fun mechanics. You will squeal with delight and fear at all the right times.Yes the Switch isn't as powerful as a PS5, that's fine. The graphics aren't cutting edge but this game dares you to dream and do whatever you please. To solve problems in a myriad of ways. To fight enemies or not, uniquely and to have fun doing it. Also, I highly recommend you buy an OLED TV and or Switch for this game as well as Surround sound speakers. A minimum of 5 (front, left, right, back left and back right) along with a subwoofer. This game is an artistic beauty, part of the charm and attention to detail is in sound that your regular TV will not be able to separate all the sound channels. Additionally, an OLED will bring this games art style to life. A masterpiece. Enjoy

The Zelda universe is yours to live in.Graphics: There is so much detail in graphics it makes you just admire how much went into this beautiful living world. Day and night cycle, weather, shadows, smoke, cel shading details, the way the wind blows as fabric moves along with it including clothing, hair, tall grass, clouds hovering over you creating shadows, particle effects, I mean this has a sense of realism that I still can’t seem to understand is actually in a playable game. A lot of people look for ultra realistic lifelike graphics but they feel soulless. This is true realism where everything, everyone, and the world reacts to your movements and actions. How they achieved this is beyond me but I am blown away at this living world and it is just such a fresh breath of air from what is out there. You will fall in love.Music/Sound: Melow tunes, eerie vibes, relaxing tones, combative scores. Just as beautiful as the graphics. The sound effects are phenomenal. You hear how the wind sways from time to time all depending on weather, what surface you walk on or run on, what type of material would sound like when hitting a different material. I was running and I heard a little clashing noise so I stop and it stopped. I run and it starts to sound again so I’m now sure it’s me and it turns out it was my weapon hitting the shield as I ran but when I drew them out while running the sound stopped. That to me was absolutely incredible.Gameplay: this game requires a lot of patience but it is extremely rewarding and well worth the effort. You will die…a lot. As you progress through the game it becomes easier since you grasp the concept and enemies and story are phenomenal and I am only about 5 hours into this game.Every single person should play this game as it is a once in a lifetime experience and it is just so beautiful when you see it all just come together.Do not hesitate buying this game, it is extremely cheap in price compared to the endless hours you will spend on it. This game would be worth thousands if we were to base it on time over value.Thank you Nintendo and all those involved in the making of this amazing world for bringing back that feeling of playing a video game I thought I had lost. I appreciate it.

[Rewarded Review] Gimmicky, anything good from BOTW is gone

1) the fusion gimmick: some of the best parts of the first game were removed (stuff like swords that the enemies drop including unique swords and spears and clubs for particular enemies, and also the elemental arrows). Instead its replaced with goofy and clunky fusions. The game wants you to make annoying and useless fusions out of everything.2) the durability (and power) of equipped bows and swords and clubs and all that is MUCH worse. The game pushes you to make fusions out of sticks and rocks and mushrooms on shields. The resources are all much more scarce in this game and durability of everything is either the same or lower. The game really pushes you to use the annoying ascend gimmick which has a long and annoying animation.4) the storyline isnt like a sequel. Its totally unrelated to the story of the first game. Many things from the first game are gone with zero explanation ( for example the guardians, guardian ruins, and divine beasts, any mention or knowledge of ganon, the calamity, or any of the story of BOTW) and not even a mention. Like this is a really bad reboot of the first game with a nonsense incoherent story.5) weird goofy horns on all the enemies. This looks just weird and wrong. Its also a replacement for things like the lynel swords, boko clubs, lizal boomerangs, etc. you have to make goofy dumb fusions with these strange metallic antlers with sticks or twigs or pitchforks and of course those fusions have really low durability.6) linear progression. This game is not open world exploration with options to progress through various tasks in various areas at your own choice.I really regret playing this game. At least i can go back and play the original, which even on a third or fourth playthrough has a sense of fun and amazement that TOTK can never have.

[Rewarded Review] Great Zelda game

Overall, excellent game.Cons:--It's rated "E10" but I think parts of it seem more "T" rated than "E10" rated in my opinion - for instance, it's way more difficult than it's predecessor, "Breath of the Wild" (which is also "E10") both in combat and exploration. Also, there is a fairly scary cutscene toward the beginning of the game that's unskippable as far as I can tell. Finally, there are some very scary monsters in this game (more scary than any Zelda game I've played) - such as "gloom hands" (I know there's a more official name for them than that, but that's what everyone's nicknamed them), and very fast crawling/ flying monsters named "Gibdos" - and you have to combat both sets of monsters more than once in order to progress the story, they're not optional/ ... MoreOverall, excellent game.Cons:--It's rated "E10" but I think parts of it seem more "T" rated than "E10" rated in my opinion - for instance, it's way more difficult than it's predecessor, "Breath of the Wild" (which is also "E10") both in combat and exploration. They are also extremely difficult to combat.--It seems to be a darker feeling game than Breath of the Wild.--It seems more cultic than Breath of the Wild.--There's also inflation in this game - the items to buy in the game cost more than they did in Breath of the Wild, but things like gems/ loot to sell are worth less in the shops than in Breath of the Wild. There are also less loot to find in this game than Breath of the Wild.--Not as polished in some areas as Breath of the Wild- for instance, in this game your weapons go right through the ground when carrying them on your back which kind of looks like the game is unfinished.Pros:-- there's an extensive map with 4 levels - sky, earth, caves, and depths (there are 3 maps you get - earth and caves are found on the earth level map, sky map, and depths map). I like the caves level the most (it's where you find the most loot and I think they're fun).--There's also lots of Easter eggs from other Zelda games.--Like it's predecessor, Breath of the Wild, you have to unlock the maps through discovery, and opening up towers (earth map, and now in TOTK also sky map). In addition, in TOTK you know also have to open up lightroots (depths map). When you open up earth map you also open sky and caves levels. It's nice, in my opinion, that overall the earth map matched the one found in Breath of the Wild, because it made the game feel more apart of the same universe and also helped one know where overall major areas would be even prior to opening up areas through the towers.--There's lots of opportunities to get to build / craft your own vehicles and stuff (through ultrahand special ability) and your own special arrows/ weapons/ shields (through fuse special ability). At times though, I would have liked to have preset elemental arrows to buy/ find /use like in Breath of the Wild. Also at times I would like premade vehicles to find/ buy so that if one is not wishing to build during a particular game time/day, one wouldn't have to build.Overall, TOTK is a great game.

A fantastic lesson on how to reuse assets from a previous game and improve on other features from the previous game,BOTW, tremendously. All AAA companies should take notes from this game. The voice actors really did a phenomenal job in giving their characters personality and emotion. The creativity with the new Zonai devices is something i never would have dreamed to be possible in a Zelda game but is definitely held back by the Switches hardware limitations as i have had major fps issues when driving around a makeshift tank i created, even when playing on my TV. The freedom to build your own house could be suffering from this set back as well as you are limited to 15 rooms, with gardens, stairs, and little ponds also counting towards your max amount. The house creation feature also feels underdeveloped as you cannot color different parts of your house or have windows or even ladders. The sky islands feel amazing to explore with the biggest island being the starting area but you can find Zonai dispensers on the lesser islands too which acts as incentive other than finding shrines too. The depths also are an amzing addition as it expands upon the world even more like the sky islands. The depths offer challenging enemies, secret treasures, and much more and I'm still mapping it all out. Overall, Tears Of The Kingdom is definitely GOTY worthy already and i can't wait to play even more! The only thing aside from the few problems i mentioned previously is the Switch and its hardware. I hope this tells Nintendo they need a massive upgrade in gaming tech. A truly beautiful and fun game!

[Rewarded Review] Tears of the Kingdom is a MUST PLAY

If you're a gamer, and you have a Nintendo Switch, you must play Tears of the Kingdom. If you're a gamer but you DON'T have a Switch, save up to buy one so you can play Tears of the Kingdom. If you're not a gamer at all, well, you're missing out!I've been a gamer for over 35 years. In that time frame I've played A LOT of great games, many of which are perpetually in the conversation for "greatest game of all time."Well, Tears of the Kingdom has been out for a week now, and I can say that it has skyrocketed into the GOAT conversation, and, for me, sits right at that number 1 spot.I knew this game was going to be great, but I had no idea the magic that the developers on the Zelda team over at Nintendo were going to cram into that tiny cartridge. As a direct ... MoreIf you're a gamer, and you have a Nintendo Switch, you must play Tears of the Kingdom. But it utilizes those assets in brilliant ways to create a new, fresh, and very improved gaming experience. TOTK improves on BOTW in every way imaginable. There's more quests, more character interactions, a heftier story, more epic music, and a HUGE dose of the charming weirdness that characterizes many Zelda games. One criticism that was aimed at BOTW was that, while it was a great game, it didn't exactly "feel" like a Zelda game. TOTK has gone above and beyond to rectify this. Not only does it feel like a Zelda game, it has now become the quintessential and definitive Zelda experience.Oh yeah, there's a ton of new game mechanics and abilities that are technically jaw-dropping. There's a reason other game developers are looking at this masterpiece and asking themselves one question: "How? How did Nintendo craft such a massive, technically impressive game given the limited hardware of the Switch?"So, if you're on the fence about this game, don't be. Get it and be treated to the most organic, natural feeling game world ever created. Climb mountains, spelunk in the caves, free-fall from the sky islands, photograph the wildlife, collect treasures, create robots, feed the doggies, or simply take your horse out for a run on the beach. But whatever you do, don't miss out on a once in a lifetime game experience.

[Rewarded Review] Zelda does it again!

I want to start off by saying that I have been playing this game since I bought it and absolutely adore it.When I bought the new Zelda game I was fairly weary at spending my money on it as I was concerned it would just be similar to a DLC, with that said, I can tell you for a fact that it is not infact a DLC but is entirely brilliant and unique. I spent 9 hours playing this game the first day I got it and already have found so much joy in using the new abilities like Ultrahand, Ascend and Fuse. I found that when it came to fuse, I had alot more opportunity to think about what I want to use the weapon as. Do I want a hammer? A sword? Or do I want an axe? I began to plan out and even keep notes of my inventory on my journal to be able to keep track of what items ... MoreI want to start off by saying that I have been playing this game since I bought it and absolutely adore it.When I bought the new Zelda game I was fairly weary at spending my money on it as I was concerned it would just be similar to a DLC, with that said, I can tell you for a fact that it is not infact a DLC but is entirely brilliant and unique. I began to plan out and even keep notes of my inventory on my journal to be able to keep track of what items would be best use for each of these categories. I've found myself with an overload of Diamond Reapers (diamonds fused with swords) and have found this to be one of my current favorites.Moving on I want to say that to those who think that this game is just a DLC, please take my word in that its not. The enemies are now alot stronger from what they were in BOTW and I've noticed the blood moons feel more frequent (meaning more frequent spawning which means that you dont have to wait for ages to go farming for monster parts if you've defeated the majority of the beasts in the area you're looking). Furthermore the depths creep me out so I haven't exactly explored much of it but with what I have explored, I can confirm you will have absolutely hours of time to spend here.On top of that, I love the new rewards system that comes with the stables. I've already gotten the majority of the rewards so far and I find myself purposefully going to stables to sleep, just so I can get those points. With all that being said, I truly believe that this game is currently one of the greatest games on the market as of right now, its a fresh of breathe air where the possibilities of what can be done are endless.I hope this review helps you out! If you haven't already done so, I would get BOTW and play it first so you can get an understanding of this game.
