This is a very nice, easy to sip version of the edition series. On the nose there is honey, sea salt, caramel, light vanilla, and tanned leather. On the palate, toasted grain, stone fruit jam, sea salt, malt syrup, roasted macadamia nuts, nutmeg, alspice, and butterscotch. It made me want to sit back and savor the aroma, subtle sweetness, and layered flavors for hours. A few drops of water allows this to open up to convey even more than just sipping it neat. A great find.

This is exactly what we've all come to expect from Macallan. Sweet on the nose with aromas of vanilla and toffee. The taste is the same with a long warm finish. A great addition to the Macallan line and one you will not regret buying.

Really like the American oak with the European sherry. Very smooth, good flavor.
NOSE: 92/100. You get all the wonderful aroma of the classic Macallan sherry notes with no hint of sulphur and more complexity. Dark/rich manuka honey, sweet rum raisin, vanilla, hazelnut, and figs.....…......….…...........................................................................PALATE: 93/100. Complex flavors layered in a leathery texture. Gingerbread cookie, Godiva chocolate, butterscotch, caramel, and a dash of ginger spice that’s milder than Edition 2. This dram is so easy to drink, yet complex in flavors. It does not taste like it’s 48.4% ABV.....…......….…...........................................................................FINISH: 93/100. Long sweet finish with a touch of sweet cinnamon with hints of lemongrass and creamy ... MoreNOSE: 92/100. You get all the wonderful aroma of the classic Macallan sherry notes with no hint of sulphur and more complexity. I am aware that every new Edition of this series is awaited with baited breath by aficionados of all things Macallan. That being said, when Sip Whiskey said it was coming and when, I not only ordered but doubled my order and waited! They did not disappoint and upon receipt of their shipment, my order was delivered within two days, properly packed, and trackable. I would not hesitate to trust them with future orders.
