My Jacket arrive today and I could not be more happy! I really had no hope that it would be repaired in this day and age! As you can see Shelby-Kitten is already laying claim! I purchased this jacket in Maine during the mid 90s. If it could talk, the adventures we shared. Huddling on a 3' wide cliff for a night during an ice storm solo, multi day solo trips into the wintery backcountry and solo ice climbs. Thank you so much for getting me some more time with this old friend!

I've had a Nuptse Jacket in Child's Large since I was 12 and the quality is so good, I just never upgraded it (For the record, I'm a petite woman who mostly wears women's XS). That is, until now. I really wanted an oversized black puffer for when I didn't want to wear my fitted black child's puffer. I got this in a men's M and I love it. It's oversized without being unflattering, and it's incredibly warm. I wore it all last week on 3 mile walks in 20 - 30 degree weather and never once felt cold. The nuptse is a classic cut and style, and obviously North Face's quality is life-lasting. If you're debating this coat, just buy it.

The jacket is well made. The material also feels high quality. My only complain is that its too lose and big. I am 5'6" 135lbs and alway wore xs size in named brands. This xs is too lose and sleeve length is atleast an inch longer. I tried xxs and it fit perfect. Right amount of room in the body and sleeves of perfect length. I wanted the multi colored jacket but it was nit available. Not sure if they ever made xxs in multicolored. I also like laapis blue and got that color instead.

I am 5'6" or 5'7" and 125lbs. I have multiple North Face jackets. I am a North Face small. At first, the Nuptse jacket seemed like the perfect jacket. Small was the correct size as are all my other jackets. The arm length was correct. The width was just enough to allow to me layer on something else. If I had a medium, I would be swimming in my jacket. The jacket was lightweight, warm, had a packable hood, and I could pack the whole jacket into the pocket. Then, I raised my arm. My arm was only raised to shoulder height and the jacket pulled up above my waist. Am I never supposed to move my arms? I can never shovel snow. Every time I move my arms, I will have 20 degree F wind blowing on my stomach. If I raise my arms all the way up, the jacket exposes my stomach even ... MoreI am 5'6" or 5'7" and 125lbs. Every time I move my arms, I will have 20 degree F wind blowing on my stomach. If I raise my arms all the way up, the jacket exposes my stomach even more. The jacket in neutral position just barely covers my waist. This seems like a major design flaw. I tried on my other North Face jackets and other brand jackets and this is not a problem. I was aware that the Nuptse was "short" because I saw reviews on the internet, but this is a joke.I am shocked that this jacket has such high reviews with such a massive design flaw.If there were another version of the Nuptse that were longer (or just normal sized like every other North Face jacket), I would buy the jacket again.
My second Nupste jacket - the first being 26 years old. I still wear the first, purchased in 1996 and still going strong. I bought it when a student because it was a good buy for a good solid jacket, and looked great on me. Never knew it'd take off and become THE classic down jacket. No surprise though. This jacket is WARM, and it looks great on everyone. I've never found another brand or style - and I've looked! - that can compare. I bought a new one for my teenager for Christmas because he was stealing my own old Nuptse to wear to school - and my 2nd best jacket, made by a company as famous as The North Face - wasn't as warm, and made me look like I was wearing a nylon potato sack. LOVE this jacket! But...ended up returning. I bought a men's x small (I'm normally a small in women's) and I actually loved the oversized fit. The one part that was a little weird was the arms which were insanely oversized on me but willing to look past it. I returned due to the color - the orange is way more...orange...in person. Overall quality is amazing and looking to repurchase once there are different color options. I tried on women's and would buy a large in women's to get a similar oversized fit but the arms are much more suitable. Looking for men's still because it's rated better for wind than women's.
I like the coat for cold days. Quite large and puffy. If it's 20F outside and windy, this will do fine for you. Pockets are nicely insulated as well. The hood is rather annoying as I don't often wear one and it's always there rubbing against the back of your head. (Your hair will look a mess after a bit.)The biggest issue is simply that there's no inside pockets. Why omit a simple thing like that? I love pockets inside to stuff gloves or ear muffs.
I had been debating to buy this jacket for almost a year and was afraid to spend the money but I finally did and I am so glad that I did, the quality is amazing and the jacket is actually so warm. I live in Chicago and I can wear it with just a t-shirt under and feel warm. This looks so cute with a hoodie underneath for a streetwear look. The length is so good. I hate jackets that cover your butt but most cropped jackets aren't practical for everyday use because they are too short and look awkward with clothes under. I am 5' 9'' and this sits right above my hips. the logo is nice and big and makes the jacket pop (: I usually am a medium but I got a size small so it wouldn't be too bulky and it fits perfect. Been wearing these jackets since middle school (14 years) in NYC, perfect for extreme cold/snowy/rainy weather but the material is super fragile/cheap. be careful when walking near a wall or door because this jacket WILL tear if there's a tiny nail sticking out or even dry peeling paint. i've torn a few of mine.besides being fragile, this jacket is amazing. its light, so when you get a bit hot you can unzip it and keep it on or carry it with no problem. it's stylish of course and really keeps you warm. i've worn this jacket in 10F / -12C weather here in NY and didnt wear a sweater underneath and I was still warm! i especially love how it covers your neck!I'd recommend this jacket but just be careful walking next to walls or doors.PS: washing these jackets is a ... MoreBeen wearing these jackets since middle school (14 years) in NYC, perfect for extreme cold/snowy/rainy weather but the material is super fragile/cheap. be careful when walking near a wall or door because this jacket WILL tear if there's a tiny nail sticking out or even dry peeling paint. i've torn a few of mine.besides being fragile, this jacket is amazing. its light, so when you get a bit hot you can unzip it and keep it on or carry it with no problem. it's stylish of course and really keeps you warm. i've worn this jacket in 10F / -12C weather here in NY and didnt wear a sweater underneath and I was still warm! i especially love how it covers your neck!I'd recommend this jacket but just be careful walking next to walls or doors.PS: washing these jackets is a complex and nerve-racking process.
its autumn in New York city- all teens wait in earnest for the temperature to finally drop below 45 degrees. They can finally break it out, the monster in the closet that has been hibernating for the past 6 months- the black puffer jacket from north face. The first cold day arrives, they check their phone- its 42 degrees; brick. They get ready to go out, and on goes the puffa. They check themselves out in the mirror; They are ready. One sniff to the collar- yep it still smells of 4loko and horrible weed. They step out in their city issue puffa, with their thrifted jeans and air force ones. Finally- I can start dressing again.
