Awesome Coat
31 October 2022KG

I just bought this coat at my local North Face store in the Wild Ginger color and I absolutely love it! I'm really happy I was able to try it on in the store. I'm 5'3, 125lb and usually purchase XS/S in coats/jackets. This one does run a little more fitted so I purchased a medium and it fits perfectly! There's even enough room for a bulky sweater underneath. The employee there did tell me that it's not really waterproof and recommended not wearing it in downpours, but it would hold up well in light rain.

Awkward/wrong fit

I'm 5'6, somewhere between 135 and 150lbs, a 34D (but I only wear bralettes and sports bras). I tried S and M. I need the S, but middle row of quilting on the front is in a really awkward spot. It was so awkwardly tight there only.. like I couldn't move right. The M is a little too big, and the middle still looks super awkward. It rides up really annoyingly when l'm sitting in the car, and the collar touches my face every second. Collar hits my face annoyingly when I'm not in the car as well. It is warm, lightweight, and the sleeves are plenty long (the reason I choose TNF usually), but I'd pass unless you try it on in a store first.

Best Down Jacket ever!

I Love this jacket! I typically wear an XL and I was delighted at how perfectly this fit. Often these jackets run small. Sleeve length is perfect, roomy enough to move, but form fitting, and the stretch is just enough to make this the best jacket I have ever had. Super warm and beautiful fabric finish. I do wonder why the North Face logo is an appliqué instead of embroidered. I would have preferred embroidered. Other than that, please keep this coat in the lineup!!

Cinched in waist
2 March 2023

Like how this coat has a slight cinched-in waist making the jacket more fitted and less boxy when worn. Also, coat has a lil bit of stretch thus making it more comfortable to wear. Got the “shady blue” color which is a matte medium-dark blue. Nice color and sets this coat apart from other puffer type coat because of its matte finish. Unique. Took 1 star off for being on the pricy side, even for a sale price.

Great fitted jacket!
10 December 2022

If you like down sweater type of jackets and Thermoball but you always wish it was a tad more fitted this is the jacket for you! Most jackets are baggy in the waist and this fits like a glove. 5'4 119 and I bought the extra small. I am in California........if you need to layer, buy one size up. I am not as warm when my jackets are loose so this is perfect! It is a matte finish not shiny. I have a lot of the boxy cropped look too but this is timeless and slimming.

Great jacket, zipper failure out of the box
22 December 2022

This jacket is so nice! Fitted but stretchy, true to size, sleeves are long enough (5'9" 170lbs long arms) and I love the color. The reason for the low rating is the zipper failed immediately. The fabric on the zipper is cheap and it kept catching when zipping up and eventually got stuck. I tried to pull it free and the pull snapped off. This was after only a week or so of having the jacket.Otherwise this would have become my daily driver. For the price of the jacket this was a disappointingly cheap feature.

Not as good as previous stretch version
10 May 2023

I got this jacket as a replacement of my previous stretch jacket through the guarantee process. The jacket feels nice and perhaps the fitting is tighter than previous model, the water feature layer still to be tested. The overall look and feel is similar to the older versions, soft to touch, fitted not being bulky and the stretch material but I found a few cons in the newer version. The inside pockets have been removed, not sure why the inside pockets keep being removed from jackets as they are very useful, second con is the adjustable hoodie is not adjustable anymore, it doesn't come with the pullers on the side so you are probably done on a windy day and the hood will move backwards and third con is the white North Face logo, the previous version had a nice ... MoreI got this jacket as a replacement of my previous stretch jacket through the guarantee process. Totally what I was expecting. Highly recommended
17 January 2023

I got this one because I've lost a lot of weight in the past couple of years. I live in the tropics but almost every winter travel up north.Pro: Right now I'm in Paris in temperatures between 3-12 Celsius and the hoodie has been great for the weather. First day with highest temperatures I used it with a short sleeve top under and nothing else. Then temperatures dropped and I added a long sleeve top. Today morning it was 3 Celsius and I was very warm. I think if temperatures drop under zero probably adding a fleece jacket under would be enough.Con: I have a North Face feather long parka on S size that fits perfectly so I order this one on S too. And this one is kind of tight in the breast. When arrived I saw it said Slim Fit so I guess that means sizes are smaller ... MoreI got this one because I've lost a lot of weight in the past couple of years. Right now I can use it zipped all the way up but my breast are tight.

Very disappointed
26 November 2022

I live in Montana & it hasn't gotten "Montana cold" yet & this coat just isn't warm enough. Real disappointing for nearly $300. This coat is very good in the wind tho. One thing that really confused me is that the logos are like iron on plastic. Every North Face I've had or seen, the logos are embroidered on. This struck me as real strange. This coat does run small especially if you have to wear a thick shirt under it to keep warm. Ultimately not worth the money.

Yeah, I have recommended my friends to buy the same jacket!
29 December 2022

Love this warm jacket; well made. Length hits me at the lower hip in front and the bottom of the bum in the back. I got the large size due to other reviews saying it was tight in places, but could've easily worn a medium. I still feel comfortable wearing a thicker sweater or sweatshirt, though. I'm glad I got the large size with some extra wiggle room. The jacket is perfect for the sub-zero temperature-lightweight but warm jacket. The sleeve length was longer than expected. The colour is very dull, though and lacks lustre. It's the perfect jacket for layering!
