The North Face Hydrenalite Down Hoodie is a staple in my wardrobe. There's not a day I don't leave the house without one. I'm someone who takes a jacket everywhere just in case. It's a perfect amount of style and warmth. It is truly a jacket that brings me comfort. I can't say enough about this jacket. I wish I had it in every color.

I purchased this jacket for my grand daughter who is in college here in Maine. We have some very cold winters and she has some very long walks to get to different classes. The next day after she returned to college after receiving the jacket for her birthday she sent me this text. "Loving my new jacket on this windy day on campus!" That was good enough for me. Thank you for helping me to find exactly what she wanted when the stores did not have one in her size.

I LOVE this jacket and I highly recommend it, BUT if you are looking for a winter jacket, this is definitely not it! And for the price, you could probably get some other North Face jacket that is more suitable for winter conditions.I bought it (in yellow) to wear to the crag, this cropped jacket seemed to be perfect for belaying because of the cropped style and because of how lightweight it is, plus, it packs small.I have worn my jacket a few times already, to walk my dog, bike to work, and things like that, and I get compliments every time (specifically about the cropped style). It is also a great jacket for layering.I want to get it in a different color to have one for the crag, and I'll keep the yellow one for my other daily activities. :)

I actually returned it because it was too small, and needed a medium but it was sold out. However, the lightness of this coat has just the right amount of insulation, and is perfect for a "cold-spring" layer where it's not cold enough for a Nuptse, but not warm enough to not have a layers/insulation of some sort. Perfect for 30-60 degree F weather. I ended up finding a M Wild Ginger color and got that instead; and I love it.
This layer was perfect for "cold-spring" weather, 30-60 degrees F, where the weather is just cold enough you need insulation but not so cold you need Nuptse level insulation. I bought a S, was slightly too small and but couldn't get a M cause it was sold out in black but I found a M Wild Ginger color elsewhere (like a dusty rose color) and love it, have gotten so many compliments.For size comp, I am 5ft even, 130lbs, 34D. This is cropped, which is perfect for me - so for tall gals, might want to think about your needs RE: cropped.
Very gorgeous jacket. The lavender is so pretty. This jacket keeps me nice and warm and the hood is amazing. When you put the hood on and zip it all the way up it covers my mouth and nose! Awesome! The bottom is elastic for a snug fit. I get plenty of compliments in this jacket. I love it and I would purchase it in another color.
Such a cute jacket. I was looking for a cropped puffer and found this one which was perfect. Goes with so many outfits and is very comfortable. My arms are not very long at all and the sleeves fit right at about my wrists so I don't know if this would work the same for someone with longer arms. The hood also isn't the largest so when I wear a hoodie under, it doesn't really cover as much as other jackets do. Other than that, I'm in love. I've used it for all of October and can't wait to use it during the winter. Hopefully it's as warm as it looks like because I do live in Wisconsin and warm jackets are always a must.
I wasn’t sure I was going to keep this jacket, but then I took it for a test drive and that was it! I was sold. It is very comfortable for day to day, running errands and being in the car without feeling super puffy in winter gear. Love the texture and loft of the coat, packs up nicely. Not super warm for very cold days. I’ve worn it every day since the test drive! Very pleased with this purchase and a good basic to have on hand.
Very warm and comfortable. Living in the PNW it can get really cold, I've worn this almost everyday since I got this jacket and love it. The hood is a great size and stays up well. The fit is true to size. I normally wear a large and purchased a large. It is still roomy enough that I can wear a hoodie or sweater underneath. I only gave the 4 stars because of the bottom of the jacket. It is an elastic bottom. I have wide hips and sometimes the jacket moves up making the it more of a crop jacket than I wanted so I am pulling down frequently, but it isn't a big enough issue to return it.
I think the jacket is maybe a bit too short in the stomach area/doesn't cinch enough if you have a bigger chest. it keeps warm in the sleeves, back and neck, but it's like cold air just breezes right up through the front bottom part of the jacket.the quality and crafting is poor, especially since i'm paying $200USD and from a brand like TNF it should be a lot better. i've had mine for barely only 2 months and already the zipper area has threads coming undone, and pieces of down feathers sometimes come out of the seams. wouldn't purchase again
