I recently bought this for a trip to UK and Scandinavia. I was using a backpack style luggage (early Tortuga) and wanted something I could wear easily in front when carrying the backpack and as a sling when not to give my shoulders a break. It worked better than expected. I think they must have extended the straps from previous reviews as I'm 5'10 and 155 and had no problem even with layers and a thick coat. I could fit a lot inside and then use the outside straps to carry a jacket, sweater, or tote bag if needed. I often had two books and an iPad mini, an adapter, power bars, chapstick, wallet, and gum. I was able to fit the small size and height hydro flask in the water bottle holder- though did have to work at it initially and then it was fine. Things that were great: when you have it on your back and then bring it forward the openings to the bag face upwards making it really easy to access everything- on your back they are vertical so harder for someone else to access. Two things I would improve: I wish I could have changed the direction of the strap and I wish the inside zipper pocket opened in the opposite direction. It was hard to access without opening the bag widely. Overall it was perfect and left my hands free when carrying both my backpack luggage and it to manage the various environments and necessities of travel.

This sling was perfect for travel to belize and touring the ruins, jungle and beach. Pocket to secure wallet, clasp to secure keys and a sleeve to secure your passport.. keeps storage organized. Main storage holds additional water bottle, and long sleeve, snacks shirt no problem. Bungee secured my towel. Pocket on the strap works well for my face sunscreen and chap stick. Fit women 5'2 115 lbs and my husband 5'7 155 comfortably. Wear in the front in crowds the keep your stuff safe on back when no need to worry. Highly recommend this bag.

I have had my Borealis sling for a few weeks now. I absolutely love it. I have never used a sling bag before, so after a couple of days to get used to it, I really like it. It is the perfect small bag in which to to carry a few things. It is comfortable and very accessible. I hate having things in my pockets and prefer to carry a small bag for daily use. The reviews state a water bottle doesn't fit in the holder........false. If you stretch the elastic band a little, a half liter bottle fits easily. It is true is that the zippered pouch on the strap will not fit a modern phone. So I just use it for other small items. The bag is comfortable worn either in front or the back. From the back, it easily slides around to the front for access. I do agree that the strap ... MoreI have had my Borealis sling for a few weeks now. I absolutely love it. I am 5 foot 4, and it fits perfectly. Perhaps Northface could provide a strap extension upon request. I got this bag to replace a Jansport Half Pint, and am glad I did. I much prefer this one. It is a small bag, but don't be afraid to pack it full. I recently had it packed full.....umbrella, water bottle, lunch, phone, and all kinds of things. When I took if off, the strap was so comfortable I didn't notice how much it weighed. Great little bag.

It has nice colors. The strap pocket fits my 12 Pro Max. But the main compartment and water bottle compartment is very small. The water bottle compartment cant hold a standard water bottle. And the tablet compartment is for like a Kindle. Not and ipad. My iPad 10 fits, but hardly. The expandable part on front wont hold much either. I work outside doing inspections and I thought this would work. I will need something a bit bigger. I really wish that this worked out.
So I originally bought this bag to use when I'm exercising, which I can still do. It has a perfect little pocket for my chapstick in the front. You can sling it over one shoulder or sling it over your left shoulder and your head and where it over your back but like a crossbody. It has so many pockets! Like seriously, I keep finding more pockets! I get compliments from women and women on this little gem. I love this little bag so much, because you could put just what you need and it without toting around all the things you don't really need. Such a great buy!
I liked a lot about this bag. It was comfortable, a great size and lightweight. In most ways it was just what I wanted; however, the water bottle holder was just too small. I tried a Nalgene 16 oz bottle - which is pretty darn small - at it wouldn't fit. It might work as a holder for something else, but not a water bottle. If the holder had been just a little bit bigger it would have been the exact bag I was looking for. Very close, just a tiny bit off.
The perfect size for wandering the streets of the great cities of the world. Compact but holds everything I need. Handy exterior pocket for glasses, and another for your phone - I have an IPhone 11Pro Max and it fits! Inside there's a pocket for my street map and a surprising about of room for a wallet, pocket rain jacket and other essentials, and the exterior water bottle pocket is a big plus or to hold a mini travel umbrella. Easy to wear either front or back and it fits fine under a jacket or sweater when walking through crowded streets. The only negative I see is the challenge of finding the right size water bottle to fit.
Pros: I loved the color (Boysenberry/Fiery red), great size (not so big that it's too heavy when loaded up but space for more than just the essentials of phone, wallet, keys, sunglasses), nicely plush phone pocket, a couple of inside zipped or mesh pockets but not so many that it gets confusing.Cons: just one big one, the strap! that tiny pocket on the strap is not very useful, the strap is always badly positioned, when snug it's digging into my neck and the tiny pocket sits on my shoulder, when the strap is expanded the buckle sits on my shoulder and digs in.Bummer, with a redesigned strap this would have been the perfect bag. Changes I would like to see: change design of strap pocket, extend the wide part of the strap so when it is extended the plastic part ... MorePros: I loved the color (Boysenberry/Fiery red), great size (not so big that it's too heavy when loaded up but space for more than just the essentials of phone, wallet, keys, sunglasses), nicely plush phone pocket, a couple of inside zipped or mesh pockets but not so many that it gets confusing.Cons: just one big one, the strap! that tiny pocket on the strap is not very useful, the strap is always badly positioned, when snug it's digging into my neck and the tiny pocket sits on my shoulder, when the strap is expanded the buckle sits on my shoulder and digs in.Bummer, with a redesigned strap this would have been the perfect bag. This bag is great for carrying small items, but don't be fooled by the pictures. The water bottle holder is tiny and I struggled to fit a very small water bottle. The website photos show a nalgene-type bottle, but only the smallest nalgene would fit in the pocket. I was able to carry two very small water bottles, snacks, battery pack, chapstick, kleenex, all the necesities for a day exploring a city. Overall it worked great, just don't expect it to fit a regular sized water bottle.
The fit of the sling is awkward. Bag itself is well made. Color varies from the picture. Picture shows it's a mustard color, it comes in a dingy mustard color in person. The sling only goes on one way. It cannot be swapped to the other shoulder. This is one size fits most but in reality doesn't fit majority. I'm a petite 5'2" girl and this fits me just perfect but my husband who is 6' and wider shoulders could not wear this comfortable nor could my friend who is 5'8 (her shoulders are slightly wider than mine but not by much. The pack itself sits awkwardly on the body. Aside from the color and fit of the actual bag, it really is well made. Would recommend for smaller built people, not built for people with a wider shoulder set or someone with a gut as it cuts pretty ... MoreThe fit of the sling is awkward. Bag itself is well made.
