My son nor I have never owned a north face jacket/coat until now. I bought my son a coat for Christmas. I was hesitant at first because of the price of the coat. When my son received the coat and tried it on, he was so excited. I tried the coat on and could see why it cost so much. The cost is so light yet warm. I love it so much I'm going to get myself one. All I can say is that you get what you pay for.

Bought this for my son to wear to school on those very cold or windy days. He likes that the hood doesn't get in his way, but wishes it was detachable. He usually runs hot, wears shorts even on rainy days and this jacket keeps him just warm enough. This will be a good option for trips to colder weather states - Oregon, Idaho, even Montana. He's 6', 170lbs. Tall and lean. He went with a L to give him extra room to move his arms and the option to wear a sweatshirt underneath if needed.

I love the color. It pops in the right way. I was skeptical at first about how warm it would keep me because it's so light. When I started to take it out in weather ranging from 50 degrees down to 15 I was amazed at how warm it was keeping me. The hood was secure on my head and did not disrupt my vision. I also bought another north face that has a higher warmth rating but I haven't needed to bring it out yet. It might take some negative temperatures for me to bring that one out. We shall see how the durability over time holds up but for now I have no qualms or regrets.I also live in Minnesota where winters aren't for the weak.

Love this coat. Very warm, comfortable and light. Great combination for a winter coat like this. This coat would be a 5 star if it had more than two pockets and a pull string for the hood. That said still an amazing jacket
I love North Face jackets and already have a Gotham parka for freezing cold winter. So I bought this during the mild winter days. The hydrenalite down is amazingly warm, comfortable and lightweight. Fits true to size, I wear this pretty much daily in 30° weather. Just wish it have an inside pocket but worth the money because of quality, and highly recommend it.
Bought a medium for my college freshman in the great green color. Color was even better in person-a deep, earthy green. Sleeves are nice and long and coat is lightweight (which he wanted for walking campus and slinging over a chair) but plenty warm. In fact, he just wore it to the Packers/Rams game in Wisco and it was -10 with windchill. The only thing cold by the end of the game were his toes. We couldn't love this purchase more!

I have No problems with Puma, Helly Hansen, and Eddie Bauer etc. their sleeves fit me perfectly. Another major flaw about North Face is when the jacket is fully zipped up, the chest part is somewhat tight compare to other brands. I wanted to tell the North Face about these problems a long time ago. Please make your sleeves a bit shorter, and the chest part a bit wider. Thank you for listening to customers. I purchased this as a gift my son. He loves it! The fit is great, true to size. He loves the high collar and the hoodie. However, I thought it would be thicker for a down coat. Overall, I am pleased with my purchase.
I purchased this hoodie for my boyfriend's birthday. It was a perfect fit. This hoodie kept him warm throughout the snow storm travel in Mid-West. The hoodie is surprisingly soft, light weighted and warm at the same time. He also used it while it was raining and it kept him dry throughout. He liked the color as well. Overall, it was a worthy winter gift.
Bought this Hydrenalite hoodie jacket to replace another north face coat that had no hood. It is awesome! Fits a bit snug but worth every penny and moves well when worn during activity. Wore it to walk dogs last weekend in 2 degree weather with a 29 mph wind and was not cold. I had on a T-shirt and sweatshirt underneath the coat. Considering the wind chill was well below zero I was extremely happy with my purchase. Montana gets very cold and has brutal wind chills. I think this coat will serve me well. It isn't real bulky either and can be used for everyday wear as well.
