I am normally size S on top but I am a short person so jackets that need to be ending on or above hips etc end up much longer for me. The issue is I also have very very wide hips. I tried medium and it fit just right. However, since I want to use it for dog walking and cycling to work even as the weather gets colder. So I sized up and I have so much space in it now. I tried it with a sweatshirt and it was so comfy to wear.I bought it today and a downpour started (end of July). So of course I went out with my jacket and tried it out. It seems to hold the water very nicely. I just recieved this today and i love it. I sized up twice because of the reviews saying it was small in size and i agree. 3x is very roomy on me but not as roomy as i would imagine a 3x to be normally. Anyways, i'm a 1x normally and i got 3x since i wanted to fit a lot of layers underneath, and i'm not disappointed. I can't really say anything other than how it fits since i haven't worn it out yet. But so far i think it'll be just what i needed!

This jacket is fab for all seasons. Keeps the wind and rain out spring, summer and autumn, then great for layering in winter. Love the colour and the fit. I'm a size 10 and the small fits easily with a padded down jacket underneath. Good size hood too.

I chose North Face over other cheaper brands as the quality is usually better. However not this time. The jacket is certainly not breathable. I wore it on a hike and when I took the jacket it off the inside back was soaked (from moisture/sweating). I have an older NF Hyvent with ventilation zips inder the arms and this has never happened with that. I am very disappointed as the jacket wasn't cheap and now I've worn it , I can't return it.
This jacket is not waterproof. I bought it for a hiking trip in Banff. It rained on my 10 mile hike and the rain soaked through the jacket. It was hours before I could change into fry clothes. Very disappointed that the waterproof promise didn't hold up when I needed it. I would say it was "water resistant" but not fully waterproof.

I liked the more modern neater look of the medium so decided to keep the medium. I can still wear a jumper underneath so it's not too slim. I like the visor on the hood which will keep the rain out of my glasses. I haven't worn it yet as it hasn't rained recently so can't comment on the performance. Love the look of this coat it fits well but if you want extra room to wear more layers I would size up. I got a size small and can fit a jumper underneath comfortably (I’m usually a size 10) . I haven’t worn it in the rain yet but I tried the hood on and I’m not sure I like the look of the hood on (it’s quiet snug) but for the price I’m happy with it over all.
My wife misplaced (or I think children borrowed!) her favourite lightweight North Face white jacket - she loved this jacket and complained whenever she felt she should be wearing it. I went on the website, found the closest match and ordered it - she absolutely loves it and it is better than her first one - many brownie pointes earned - and at a decent price for the quality of the garment.
I bought this for hiking and professional skateboarding. I found it being a bit small for wearing a fleece under. And arms are very short, and for skateboarding I need long arms when bending down and grabbing the board. It is quite wide at the bottom, and I have narrow hips so I am aftraid if I go up to large it will be way too wide. It was maybe the wrong product for me ... I was looking for something to hike in and it's great for that, but for skateboarding I need a jacket that has some stretch, but still is windproof for early spring and autumn.I am 182 cm and 70 kg. Maybe size large would be better for me? A bit too late now ... But I usually am a medium, except H&M where I can use small ...
I wore this hiking up a mountain. For a few hours in the rain and cold wind it stood up really well. I was very impressed with how dry and warm it kept me, while still being light. Zip pockets were great for storing something or then just keeping my hands warmer and drier. It also dried very fast and seems easy to clean. Highly recommended. The size calculator gave me a bit larger size, but I would say it's good if you want to put other layers underneath, depends how you like the fit of your jacket, I also wanted it to be a bit longer in the back to keep me more protected, and it worked out well.
