Overall I like the Aconcagua 3 Vest, it's a nice flat black color (versus a standard shiny black) and warm (despite not being a heavy/big vest). It has kept me warm so far during the ND cold fall weather. I do like that the vest isn't super puffy so I don't feel huge when I wear it with a sweatshirt. The one thing I dislike about this vest is that the logo is not stitched into the vest like all my other North Face products, instead it's more of an iron one feel. I am not a fan of this simply because of normal wear and tear overtime the logo may peel off, which will cause discolor of black in that spot.

I am very happy with this vest! I received it in the color Boysenberry as a Christmas gift and wanted to exchange for Black. The Scheels store in my hometown where we were visiting was out of the Black in my size, and customer service was able to help me get one from a different store and have it shipped to my house (which is nowhere near a Scheels store). Shipping was so fast that it beat me home from our Christmas visit! Customer service crushed it!The quality of the vest is wonderful - I have been wearing it constantly. It is the perfect weight and keeps me warm but still allows great movement, with beautiful quality fabric. My only complaint would be that the neck is definitely more turtleneck-like than my other north face vest, which folds out more like a ... MoreI am very happy with this vest! The turtleneck top can be a less comfortable sometimes, but I think over time it will get broken in and bend away from my neck more easily. I still love it.Overall, very happy with the product and with Scheels' amazing customer service. They really are second to none!

Love the vest however hate the collar, it's way too high and rubs under my chin making it very uncomfortable. The collar does not fold down well so I use baby pins to hold it down. I have room to wear a hoodie or sweater underneath as I ordered the small. If things rubbing underneath your chin don't bother you then order this vest.

I use North Face vests and jackets for hiking, shopping, dinning and generally "Living". I live in North Face.I love the way North Face fits me. It allows for hips to be normal and not super slim. Most women aren't super thin like models.North Face also has amazing guarantees. I have had zippers fail after years of use and North Face fixes them free of charge. You just can't find service and pride in workmanship like that in most products.
I bought this vest for my soon to be twelve year old granddaughter. She chose it because her mom has a black NF Nuptse vest. She will wear it in the fall and early spring and on winter days that aren't frigid. On those days she will wear a down coat. The mix of down and synthetic insulation keeps the vest from being overly warm or puffy. The length is good. Most important, she likes the vest.
I purchased the 3xl and wear a 3xl in LL Bean this fits, but is slightly uncomfortable zippered up (hopefully this is helpful to plus size ladies). I think this is good for casual wear (think thrown over a hoodie or sweater as you transition from fall to winter). What I can't recommend about it is the fabric. I have never worn a fabric that just attracts stains/shows stains like crazy! Around the inside/outside collar it pulls oil from my hair/skin and stains immediately. Also, if you have to spot treat for any reason it also shows water stains immediately. Outwear like this I would typically wash once every week or two depending on wear, but with this I pretty much have to wash it every time I wear it. Since I've already spent the money I'll deal although until I ... MoreI purchased the 3xl and wear a 3xl in LL Bean this fits, but is slightly uncomfortable zippered up (hopefully this is helpful to plus size ladies). I feel like this requires wayyy too much upkeep for what's supposed to be a hardy outwear item.
Cute down filled vest. Matte appearance is an updated look...vs. the shiny fabrics. Fyi, this new vest has a vinyl like logo (vs. embroidered) on the front and back. The women's size small is 19" across directly under the armpits and about 25.5" long from the back shoulder to bottom hem of vest. The back hem is almost 2" longer than the front and is curved. The front from shoulder to hem is a little of 24". The main con is the high price.
I ordered 2 different vests. Returned this but kept the 1996 Retro Nuptse Vest. The Retro is almost too much fill but it's a great vest. Great pockets, zipper and hideaway hood. Bring back the 550 with the Retro quality and same features. This Aconcagua Vest didn't have a good fit to me. If this was more like the old style 550 but with upgraded features such as a better quality zipper and hood I would have kept both.
Ssdlyl, I had to return this product. I loved the fit and style, but someone stuffed this off white vest with dark stuffing that showed through. It was so disappointing when I received it. The stuffing made the best look dirty. I purchased this online and not in the store. 😔 The good news was that two wonderful employees, Andrew and Marietta, at Roseville Galleria store made the situation right. I appreciated their kindness and help very much! Thank you!
This product was exactly what my daughter wanted. Which made my daughter happy, which makes me happy. Because of the Sun and Ski sale, the price was considerably less that the competitors. There were no surprise shipping charges or shipping delays. It arrived on time, as quoted, packaged sufficiently as to protect from michigan's weather. If there was even one thing to complain about, I would say it here and pull away a star in this rating. I do not give out too many 5 star ratings
