I live in Maine and just this weekend we had temps around -5F which were -18F with the wind chill. This coat took it in stride. I also have had Canada Goose parkas which are great but much heavier and more restrictive. My CTAE parka is light, flexible, and thus far, ALWAYS warm. Best parka I've ever had! I only wish it had hand warmer pockets. We lost our heat a month or so ago. I simply put on my parka and went back to bed waiting for the heat to return. I was comfy but felt terribly guilty when I looked over at my Labrador Retriever who was shivering. She has now learned when it's real cold I'll toss the parka over her in bed. I'm sure she'd love a dog coat of the same material and down fill for when we are out snowshoeing! This is a great parka and truly counts ... MoreI live in Maine and just this weekend we had temps around -5F which were -18F with the wind chill. I try to always remember to toss it in the car if I'm going out in bitter conditions.

The jacket is amazing! It's very warm, cozy, comfortable, and stylish. But it runs BIG. I wear Large size for TNF jacket. But I ordered a Medium and it fits perfect.

I still have the original coat and love it. All the cortex has disintegrated though. Can't wait to use the new one in my Wyoming travels. The state I was born and raised in.

This coat is BEYOND warm for midnight stroll, when the snow makes a rare visit to the North Carolina region. Super COZY fit, while affording you the ability freely move.
Jacket runs big. I am 5'6" 160lbs.I tried a medium at a local The North Face store and found the jacket too big, so I ordered a small thinking it would suit me better in size, but was still too much jacket for a person of my height/weight. It is amazing looking jacket, sporty, definitely warm. I'm hoping The North Face comes out with a rain jacket in this style but more fitted for a person my height/weight
Keeps me comfortable and warm even in the -20° nights I've worn it out. Accidentally found myself in a mosh pit wearing it and it stood up to the abuse like a tank, no wear or tear. for reference I am 175lbs & 6' 4" and Large fits perfectly.
I travel up into the low temperature regions of the USA. It's important to have a good coat to sustain the cold and winds that come with our brutal winters here. This Trans antarctica expedition coat was the best choice online to get me warm and to keep me that way in any situation.
I bought the full CTAE outfit for my trip to Alaska, this jacket is super mega warm. All you feel wearing this piece is warmth, no matter how windy, snowy it is - this jacket completely protects you from everything. See picture from Glacier Matanuska where it was extremely cold and windy.
I purchased this for my husband. Very warm coat. Just a note the cut does run slightly big. He did order to size however it's a bit wider than expected. Needless to say he loves it!!!
This jacket was for my son. We tried them on in the store at Tysons Corner, VA. The store wasn't hot but as soon as we zipped up this jacket we started to sweat. It has lots of nice adjustments and plenty of pockets. I'm sure it will be cozy warm even on the coldest days. And with these amazing colors you will never misplace your jacket. Yes, very expensive but top quality build that will last for many years to come.
