Awesome Puffer Jacket!
When my daughter told me this was what she wanted for Christmas, I wasn't sure at first. When I think of Northface jackets, I picture being on the summit of a snowy mountain peak, frigid wind, below-zero coldness, and pretty much anything related to being outdoors and protecting you from the elements. The price was steep for me, as she prefers being indoors. I did not rule it out. Good thing I didn't. Not only does my daughter love her new jacket, she also looks very nice in it. The puffer is light, compact, and versatile, but most importantly, it keeps her very warm. For now, it's about style, but I am happy if she ever decides to be outdoors; her 1996 Retro Nuptse Jacket will provide the warmth and protection needed to explore.... Show more

cannot pack into pocket
I wouldn't buy this jacket again, luckily for me i got it at a steep discount. however i am 5'2' female and 165 lbs. i wear a large consistently in everything, in every brand. I am a classic hourglass shape. This jacket is quite short on the torso even on me and when you're talking about a coat for winter it is not ideal to have a coat THAT short. However because i am so short the cut is figure flattering on my hourglass shape so i wear this jacket as a "going out and looking cute" jacket. however don't buy this if you're looking for a jacket for hard core cold outdoor weather. it will keep you warm standing outside for a cigarette and to get you from A to B but it is definitely a fashion coat. When i know i am going to spend a lot of time outdoors i grab for my ... Def worth the hype
No lie, this jacket is actually perfect for winter because it blocks out all the cold. I'm typically always cold and have to wear multiple layers to feel warm, but when I put this on, I don't even close it because it's that good. It has a hidden waterproof hood that perfect when it rains and you can store away under the collar when you don't need it. I wish this jacket came in a chocolate color and had more color options. I also do wish that it was longer, but the long version looks super 80's so I wish they would make another version that just adds a few inches of length, no buckle or anything needed just a bit longer to cover the butt area. I wish the sleeves were a tad bit longer for the tall folks, I am fairly small and have short arms but people taller would ... I wish the sleeves were a tad bit longer for the tall folks, I am fairly small and have short arms but people taller would probably struggle finding the right size. The only complaint I have is the zippers, to get something out of my pockets is a struggle and the placement of the zipper on the outsides is at an awkward angle and not comfortable at all. I also wish it had more pockets on the inside rather than just one. Anyway I thought this jacket was overhyped, but its not, its the best jacket I have to keep me warm.... Show more

Great fit for petites, classic style!
My 23 ye old daughter loves the boxy and short fit. She is small and about 5’3” but has athletic shoulders. She wanted black in a large so that she could wear heavy layers underneath. I was worried she’d get lost in it, but it doesn’t look big on her, even without the layers. The jacket has drawstring around the waist and elastic at the sleeves, so it fits her petite body just great, while keeping in the warmth. Also, the length of the sleeves are just right, and because it’s short, it fits her proportions. It’s also high quality, very lofty, lightweight, nice and warm, and the down is soft and not pokey. If you’re super tall, the sleeves may be too short on you.... Show more

I LOVE this very warm, soft coat -so glad I finally bought!
I've had my eye on this coat for a couple of years, and finally splurged because of the down content, and quality I trust in North Face. As I expected with the down content, It's very warm but so soft and not heavy; so comfortable! I haven't tested it out in the weather yet but I live in Utah and am excited for this winter coat for skiing and wearing anywhere! I ordered 4 coats in two sizes and two colors, intending on keeping 2 (for myself and one daughter), but am keeping a third for my other daughter as well. The black will look best with most outfits and is what if choose if we only kept one, but this wasabi is a very pretty color and we will enjoy sharing and trading! True to size. I often like to size up to a medium (or large) in coats for extra warmth and ... My girls are roughly my same size as me and chose to keep the smalls after trying on. Small looks a little better on me as well but I do still love the idea of even more room in the medium. The three of us range from 5'3"-5'5", and 115-130 lbs.... Show more

Incredibly Warm, Extremely Cute, Great Quality
This jacket is incredibly warm and extremely cute! Anytime I wear it, I am always warm and toasty. I've worn this jacket in single digit (Fahrenheit) temperatures. The pockets keep your hands just as warm. I was surprised how warm my bare hands were in the pockets. It's great for a ski day or just looking cute walking around on a cold day. It's an expensive jacket, but its quality. Based on other reviews, it should serve me well for many years to come.... Show more

Love Pink--Women's 1996 Retro Nuptse Jacket in Cameo Pink
The North Face Women's 1996 Retro Nuptse Jacket in Cameo Pink. I saw this Cameo Pink jacket on YouTube in one of the "What I Got For Christmas" videos. I had to get this jacket for myself. I was delighted to see it was still available online. I bought a size up to allow for layering. It really does keep me warm, no layering is really necessary when wearing this jacket. I was so happy when the jacket arrived quickly in three days. I have been stopped by fellow pink lovers on the street, on campus, and even in various non-The North Face-stores whenever I wear this jacket. If you love The North Face and the color Cameo Pink, add this jacket to your wardrobe. A huge plus--this jacket folds up for easy packing into a suitcase or storage into hibernation until fall and ... MoreThe North Face Women's 1996 Retro Nuptse Jacket in Cameo Pink. My favorite jacket - I now own two
Absolutely love this jacket. I want it in multiple colors. I now own two of these, one in the blue and red men's style, and one in the women's white style. I wear this in my office and everyone asks if I'm freezing, but honestly I wear it because it's so comfortable and feels like a warm hug. It's perfect for our very mild pacific north west winters (except in the rain of course). My only complaint is that the sizing seems a bit inconsistent. I have one in a men's medium that is a little bit big on me but I like the fit. Per TNF size chart, this has the same measurements as a women's large, yet the second one I bought in a large feels a lot smaller than my men's. The arms are much shorter and shoulders a lot less broad. Still fits me but was not the slightly ... MoreAbsolutely love this jacket. I want it in multiple colors. I understand they are different fits but something to be aware of in case you're like me and sometimes prefer the men's colors offered.... Show more

Warm, lightweight, and such a beautiful color!
I got the Deep Oak in Medium - I love the color, and the jacket is super lightweight. I live in California desert, and it keeps me warm enough. The only thing is that feathers are already coming out here and there, and the brown color easily shows stains or markings. I've been able to clean the stains easily though, with dish soap and water! I'm usually a XS/S and sized up, and it's definitely an oversize look! I recommend staying true to size. Definitely a staple jacket, I wear it everywhere!... Show more
