I am almost done with my first bottle of this. Here are some things I like and dislike: LIKE 1. Within the first month, there was some noticeable fading of my sun spots. Effective but be patient!

I’ve also been trying to combat some sun damage and fade freckles from living in sunny South Florida. This serum has been a nice addition to my night time skincare routine. Holy Grail for Acne-Prone Skin!

I’ve been using this Alpha Arbutin serum religiously in the mornings for years, and it has completely changed the apperance of my skin. In a matter of weeks it helped reduce my acne scarring and hormonal cheek acne. It quickly became part of my everyday routine! It pairs beautifully with The Ordinary niacinamide serum to brighten and even out the skin! I would recommend not using this with a vitamin C serum — I like to alternate between using alpha arbutin one day and vitamin c another to not compromise my skin barrier or cause over sensitivity on my skin. Not for me but could be for you!

I was very excited about using this product since I have post acne marks. ( PIH post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Unfortunately, this product caused me to get small bumps on where I put it. Though, this product helped with brightening my PIH, but also caused trouble giving me small bumps. I recommend putting a small bit on somewhere and leaving it on overnight, to see if your skin is able to handle the serum. If your skin is breaking out, stop using this immediately. A great alternative is vitamin c. I still believe this is a very good product depending on your skin type! Give it a try and it's okay if it doesn't work out like you want the serum to, there are great alternatives!

Temporary fix

Hadn't heard of alpha arbutin before using this product but after a little research I learned that it's effects are only temporary and if you stop using it, your skin will revert to its original state. Personally I'd prefer a product that could actually improve my skin condition instead of a temporary fix. It's a very liquidy consistentcy and glides on easily and absorbs quickly. It seems to work fine under makeup. I've been working outside daily and haven't noticed any hyperpigmentation spots that usually pop up on my forehead, nose and upper lip during the summer.
