7 month old still plays on it everyday

My 7 month old loves her play gym. She has used it every day since she was one week old, and she is still thrilled with it. We even take it on vacation with us because we can’t go a day without it. I did buy some visual stimulation cards on Amazon for 0-36 months and switch them out regularly, so she always has new things to look at (she got bored with the included ones very quickly). I also took off the crinkly teether toy (this one was a pass for her) and rotate different stroller toys & rattles in that spot, so I change the accessories on the gym frequently. However the wooden rattle and the ball are both so simple, but she plays with them everyday since she was a month old and still doesn’t seem bored with them at all. It’s so great to be able to put her on this mat and get some time to myself. However, I do have a couple complaints. First, ANY and all dirt & hair will stick to it. It gets filthy very quickly. Also, the Velcro on the ties to hang toys, as well as on the ties to connect the wood beams to the mat have worn through. Because of this, I can’t attach the wood beams to the mat anymore, can’t use the tent cover anymore, and had to makeshift my own ties out of yarn to hang her toys. I wish it was made with better quality Velcro or with another material (like snaps or a simple tie). It’s very disappointing that for such an expensive gym, we already aren’t able to use all of the features after only 6 months.

I don't normally provide reviews, but I wanted to for this item, since this is the most expensive baby play gym out there. I will start by saying that my baby absolutely loves the play gym. When we first received it, it was all smiles and kicking (7 weeks at time we received the gym). The gym is easy to set up and clean, and has plenty of activities to grow with baby (love the activity guide, even with the overlap of information from the Looker Play Kit). With that said, there are definitely some things that Lovevery could improve:1. The Learn to Focus zone should be removable for washing. It survives washing machines, but it doesn't stand up as well after.2. This is easy to set up, but I worry about the velcro connectors for the frame. I already see them fraying, since we do move the gym room to room, depending on where we are for the day.3. There isn't much padding, so it isn't ideal for hardwood floors unless there is a thick rug or play mat underneath.4. The cover seems like an afterthought. I would love to take it on and off, but have primarily left it off. Reason: you have to connect it via the velcro connectors for the frame.

The toys actually were almost directly in his face because of the height (or lack thereof) of the other gym. I decided to go ahead and get the Lovevery gym when he was a little over two months old. I am so glad I did! It is tall enough for me to get inside of it with him and play, and he loves looking up at the cards. There are so many things for him to do with this play gym, even though it has fewer “hanging” items. He loves to kick his feet and make noises on that area of the mat! Even better that it is washable! I’m not sure how to describe this but if my baby spits up on the Lovevery gym, it kind of absorbs the liquid quickly so playtime can resume and I can throw it in the wash after. The other gym was made of a different (though still “washable”) material, but if he spit up it all ended up in his hair and on the back of his clothes! It’s nice that he can stay dry on this one if he happens to spit up. I also love that it comes with a cover to turn it into like a little tent for when he is older. I can see us having lots of fun with that! I will say that when my gym arrived, the black and white ball was kind of unraveled. Like one little bunch of the sections was splayed open. Customer service was so great and put a replacement in the mail along with a prepaid label to send the other one back for review by their quality team. It’s so great that they are considerate and intentional about finding out what caused the problem so they can do better! Lastly, get the sensory strands! I won’t review those on this post but my baby LOVES them and was interacting with them immediately.

I seriously cannot say enough

I seriously cannot say enough good things about The Play Gym! I coveted it for my first child but never bought it because someone gave us a different play gym at our baby shower and I thought it seemed silly to buy another, especially at this price point. When our second child was born, the first play gym was pretty worn out so I finally sprang for this one and we absolutely adore it! We literally use it all day every day. The variety of areas on the mat make it a fresh experience each time.My favorite thing about it is that it's large enough for our toddler to play on the mat with the baby-- he comes running with excitement when it's "tummy time"! And even the cat has gotten in on the fun when we add the "tent" cover. I can see that the kids will play with it for ... MoreI seriously cannot say enough good things about The Play Gym! I particularly appreciate the thick padding so that it is comfortable on hardwood floors/kitchen/bath (yes, we drag it all over the house) and that it holds up to washing beautifully. In short, don't be like me and wait for your second child to buy The Play Gym! It's not a splurge, it's a necessity.

I started out with the newborn toy set and my son was so obsessed I decided to spring for the play gym even though we still had ours from our daughter. I’m so glad we did - it is worth every penny!! The quality is great and I love how it has so much to entertain my baby without having a lot of flashy lights and noise (the last thing we need more of with a toddler in the house!). The black and white cards alone keep my son entertained for quite a while (he’s 14 weeks now) so the card clips are great because I can move them around so he’s not always turned the same direction. He also loves the batting ring now that he’s got more hand control. I also love that all the toys can detach so he can play with them when he’s not on the mat. The mat is pretty large so might not work well in an apartment or small space but I feel that it looks great in the room rather than being an eye sore like many other mats on the market. Overall just an awesome mat and I love that it’s a place I can put him down and not feel guilty because he is so entertained AND developing important skills. Wish we had known about Lovevery with my first but we will continue to purchase play kits for years to come!

After spending every free moment knee deep in research from experts on early child development, I really began to understand why it’s so critical for floor play - spend as less time as necessary out of gear - as well as utilizing “toys” that are aligned with your child’s development stage.I initially decided to purchased 1 play kit from Lovevery. After receiving the play kit and seeing how thoughtfully designed and insightfully rich the play kit was - including the glorious book which has extra play ideas, tips for parents, explains the milestones related to the stage of development, description of each toy, the book spoke to my HSP Virgo borderline OCD personality.Only then was I completely sold on getting the “Rolls Royce” of activity gyms. I want the best for my child and realized the gym I had was essentially “fast food”/empty calories for her development. Lots of bright, flashy lights, not much texture variation and very strange (not thoughtfully nor appropriately) designed loops for toy engagement. The fact that my daughter was showing signs of batting and grasping before 3 months, yet how oddly placed the loops were became very obvious to me why she hadn’t made contact and would end up fussing out of boredom/frustration.I came full circle and understood why Lovevery stands out and is superior to the competition. Not only are the products / toys they sell greatly beneficial to your child’s growth, the app is an outstanding complement. Having access to experts that run the gamut from Pediatricians, sleep experts, OT, PT, Speech, Early childhood development you name it, their board is packed with folks who truly live, eat and breathe infant development. This brand is seriously worth the hype and I am so glad I discovered and took the plunge on their products because my daughter is thriving at nearly 4 months old. She is rolling over - both belly to back and back to belly - talking/babbling up a storm, excellent head control and went from hating tummy time to a TT champ!Every day I’m excited to have her play in the activity gym as well as incorporate the play kit and tools that Lovevery has put together to help make parenting a little more easy for first timers like me.Highly highly recommend. The gym is worth the money. Buy it.

I was pretty hesitant to
6 July 2022

I was pretty hesitant to purchase this since there are many cheaper options out there. However, I bit the bullet and ordered the mat with the added sensory strands. My baby is 3 months and saying she loves it is a understatement. They really thought about the craftsmanship throughly with each piece. She can spend about an hour on her back looking up at the high constraint images that can be limitless. Tummy time is more enjoyable with the focus zone as well. She like each of the attachments and they can hold her attention. It's nice to see her in a daze staring at the ball or the teething toy. The sensory strands gets lots of baby kicks and she is very vocal on how much she enjoys the noises they make. She is too little for the other zones but I'm sure she will love ... MoreI was pretty hesitant to purchase this since there are many cheaper options out there. The materials are very high quality and the simplicity is aesthetically pleasing. By far one of the best baby purchases I have made. Well done lovevery!

I would return this if
17 January 2023

I would return this if the return window was still open. First, the wood bits are entirely too heavy, and would hurt an infant if the child flips back from a seated position (as babies often do when they are learning to sit); I now understand why other brands use soft materials vs wood. Secondly, after my purchase, I realize that if you don’t buy this from the start when your baby is just a few weeks old, you won’t get as much utility from it; it is too expensive otherwise (if your baby is already an infant I.e. 3 months and above, I absolutely don’t think it is worth it). Yes, I know there are activity kits for infants and toddlers, but again, you won’t get your money’s worth from the mat. Thirdly, the batting ring is too heavy and can hurt a child. The only part I appreciate about this mat is that it is thick, but I just bought a $30 mat that is almost as thick. I plan to add a few favorite toys that I have researched to make sure they are engaging; that approach is interactive and much less expensive.

I’m going to be honest
4 July 2021

I’m going to be honest here: I didn’t want to buy this play gym. I tried to read every bad review to convince myself not to purchase it, but every review just raved about how awesome it was. I would stare at pictures and think, “This looks so basic how can the reviews be so great on it?!?” I finally said this to my husband and to my surprise he turned and looked at me with a perplexed expression and stated, “I was thinking the exact same thing!” I didn’t even know at this point that he had been looking into it! We thought we could put together something better, less expensive, and more entertaining ourselves but instead of trying we finally decided to go with the crowd and purchase one because we aren’t the experts and we must be missing something. So here we are a ... MoreI’m going to be honest here: I didn’t want to buy this play gym. We thought we could put together something better, less expensive, and more entertaining ourselves but instead of trying we finally decided to go with the crowd and purchase one because we aren’t the experts and we must be missing something. So here we are a couple weeks into use and I absolutely love it! This is our first child and instead of being bored she instantly became intrigued with the play gym! I started using it around 2 and a half months of age and I saw a dramatic difference in her facial expressions with the first use! Instead of her just staring at the flashing musical madness of her other playmat, which is still helpful for fussy tummy time days, she was enthralled by the patterns and mental stimulation that the Lovery Playgym provides! I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw the wheels turning in her precious developing brain!I also love the size of the mat and the ease of setup. Other playmats are small and have large plastic pieces that I have to protect her from rolling into and injuring her little head but the Lovery Playgym is designed by geniuses who angled the bars and made the mat a hexagon so that the baby can roll and scoot and still not hurt herself! I can actually look away from her for a moment without holding my hands next to her head to protect her!The range of toy heights on the bars is also greatly appreciated! She is able to not only grow with the play gym but she can be positioned in many different spots to help her develop hand-eye coordination and foot-sound coordination! The toys that come with the unit are perfect to stimulate her development. The sound of the bell on the wooden toy has the best pitch of any of her rattles and she lit up and started giggling the first time she heard it! I was so impressed that the team who invented this unit put so much time and effort into the development! The use of black and white along with dimension stimulation on the ball is also a home run! She loves to look at it especially when it is swinging! When I unpacked the kit and looked at the black and white cards for the first time I wasn’t sure that she would like them because they seemed so noisy and I didn’t want her to get overstimulated, but she is intrigued by each card and clearly studies them for an appropriate amount of time before moving on to the next card. It is amazing to watch.I purchased the add on sensory kit and I am so glad that I did because it add a whole new dimension to the gym. I feel that the gym should just be a little more expensive and come with the sensory kit because it not only allows the baby to utilize it while laying on her back but it can be placed on the mat for tummy time or in her lap when she is sitting up.We live pretty far from our families and the play gym is excellent for travel! I actually use the travel bag from her pack n play bassinet to fit the play gym and keep it protected while we travel. It is so sturdy I don’t have to worry about the wood pieces and mat breaking while it is in commute between long distances. If I had to change one thing on the play gym I would ask for a better design on the clips that hold the cards to the wooden bars. The cards sometimes fall out and it would be really excellent to be able to position them on different sides of the bar so that my baby can look at them while sitting or standing by the unit. My daughter started wanting to stand up by 2.5 months and trying to walk or stopping her feet so I try to clip the cards on the sides of the bars so that she can stand and look at them which she loves to do, but the clips cannot really work like that. Maybe an alternate design would be a Velcro type attachment with a clip that can be attached anywhere and at any angle to the bars?Thank you Lovery for such a wonderful product that has made a huge difference in playtime for my baby!

My friend liked the play
27 June 2022

My friend liked the play kits from Lovevery so we decided to get their play gym. We got this for our 2-month-old and she was instantly drawn to the high contrast pictures. She has slowly shown interest in the rattle and high contrast ball. It's a nice activity gym but there are a few things I would change about it. For one, I wish it was easier to clean. I have been using a blanket for my daughter to lay on so I can easily just throw that in the washer when she spits up instead of the whole mat. I also wish there was a way to detach the squeakers since they retain water after washing. At this price point, I expected a higher attention to detail. My other complaint is that the tabs that label each of the developmental zones were not sewn on straight and the glue that ... MoreMy friend liked the play kits from Lovevery so we decided to get their play gym. My other complaint is that the tabs that label each of the developmental zones were not sewn on straight and the glue that contains the string on the rattle spilled over onto the rattle. I haven't tried other play gyms but I am not sure that I would recommend this one over others when it is nearly double other popular ones.
