Previously had an Ecosa, and had a lot of issues with it. We were keen to try Koala but we're then unsure about which mattress to go with. Tried our luck with this one and thank goodness - because it's SO nice! Softer than our previous mattress but it's soooo much more comfortable! A bit tricky to zip up/put together but other than that it's been a dream to sleep on.. I honestly don't want to get out of bed! Although my partner says they sometimes notice when I toss + turn in bed, when that wasn't really an issue before. That being said, it isn't a deal breaker, since other than that the mattress is deliciously comfy and perfect. No more back pain or body aches!

I havnt noticed any new mattress smells either so can't comment on that as I've seen others do.Probably the only thing to note is it's slightly taller so some tight fitted bed sheets may not work or may not have the appropriate coverage so just keep an eye out on depth when buying those.

Both my partner and I began to have joint and nerve issues so contacted koala about our experience, we were recommended to try their complimentary softer topper so we gave it a shot. Had to sleep in the middle of the bed for better support instead of on my own side because the bed edge collapses when laying next to it, felt like I was constantly holding myself in the bed.The softer topper didn’t fit on the bed properly, either myself or partner had to deal with about 2 inches of space between where the topper ended and where the mattress edge was, it didn’t fit edge to edge. The corner straps were completely useless, didn’t hold the topper on the mattress at all so we were constantly having to adjust the topper and sheets. The topper made the mattress very thick, none of our sheets or mattress protectors fit properly and fitted sheets got stretched and constantly came untucked.Well within our trial period and organising a refund was a nightmare, because we live outside of metro area we were told WE had to organise a courier ourselves, or simply return it to Melbourne ourselves. Logistically a nightmare when it was going to cost me well over $1000 to return the mattress with 3 couriers involved to get it to Melbourne and clearly can’t just throw it in the car and return it ourselves! Koala was happy to send it to us but refused to organiser a courier (even at our expense, which we knew we had to pay for a return because of our area, never explained we had to find couriers to do it!) which was incredibly frustrating when they tell you it’s risk free (clearly not!) eventually they agreed to let us donate the mattress with proof of donation to receive a full refund. No we just wait for that to happen!

Fast arrival thanks you. From the first night I have woken without stiffness or aching lower back. My previous mattress was almost $4000 @ half price) and to lay on that expensive matt, at first feels like I'm on a cloud, it's so cuddly and soft, unfortunately for me I need more support so thought I'd try koala mattress after I slept on one at a motel and liked it. So I ordered the calm as, came earlier than expected :) and I set up same day.When I first lay on this koala calm as, it feels slighty too firm for me, and even though I'm in love with how this top layer feels under me, I could of done with a little more plush, but like I said I've been sleeping on a very soft cloud like matt with not enough support, so I really think it's an adjustment for me. I've got SD mattress and when compare it seems SD has bit more firmness and certainly more edge support than Koala. Was in doubt since Koala Calm As not having springs oppose to SD, time will tell how long this foam only mattress lasts before sagging (SD still feels brand new after two years). I trust technology must be advanced by now for these foams to last long, but... Overall mattress is in great quality. But after three weeks still having bit of that chemical smell when entering the room. Does not bother us much but may be to someone very sensitive to smell. We aired the mattress for one whole week with open window and air filter running through the day.

Setup was a breeze and after a couple of nights getting used to the new firmness, and the mattress expanding to it's full size, it is a dream to sleep on.Yes, there is a chemical smell initially, but it goes away after 4-5 days. It helps if you open up your windows and doors and let the breeze take out the smell.I had no idea how much my wife moving was actually waking me up. Amazing! My husband and I love this mattress. We can no longer feel eachother toss and turn through the night, making it a far more restful sleep than we've had before.Our old mattress was made with springs and would often feel them digging into my hips. This is no longer an issue and I have not experienced hip pain to the same degree since having this mattress. It is also far my easy going on any muscle tension.The mattress is very comfortable and the biggest surprise was how it delivers on being cooler in Summer. It is absolutely more breathable than any other mattress we have used.

The mattress is on the firm side, which I appreciate, currently using the medium firm side of the top layer which is just a little cozier. It has helped quite a lot with hip and knee pain at night. It does have a bit of smell for a few days, but that has worn off quickly. My only gripe was delivery in my local area, it arrived in my town quickly but the delivery service was unable to get it to me for nearly a whole week, which was frustrating.
