Whether you're using these laying down or sitting up, the effect is very therapeutic. The variable pressure is a great feature - and if you change the pressure to be lower than the current set is operating at, the boots deflate to start a new set.The boots have 4 different pressure settings: 25, 50, 75, 100 mmHg. The 25 was a little too light for me but perfect for my partner. I tended to hover between 50 and 75, and the 100 resulted in pins and needles. You can set the session length between 20, 40, 60 and infinity. I saw immediate positive impact after a long bike ride with just a 20 minute session (2x a day on separate days with a 5K walk/run and 75 minute bike ride). Where I'd normally be pretty sore or at least stiff the next day, that didn't happen. On rest days the suggested circulation refresh routine was also very helpful at reviving what normally would be dull, achy legs. I could easily see these becoming part of my normal recovery routine. The inflation process is from bottom to top and there's decent freedom of movement which kept any pinch-type issues to a minimum. The overall feel was similar to a blood pressure cuff over a larger area and the progression is gentle as the pressure ramps up.The two big reasons that stop these from being a 5/5 are: the boots themselves are heavy and awkward, even when trying to store. And because of the materials required, they're also very noisy (crinkly mostly) when putting on or taking off or storing. Surprisingly, the noise while these are in action is minimal. All in all, a really good recovery tool for folks who are training for 5Ks, increasing their distance, or sore from biking -- or just folks who spend a lot of time on their feet.

This doesn't take away from the compression abilities one bit, but it's worth pointing out that you can move around a little bit and the Jetboots are easier to get on/off and position comfortably than the other set I have from the competitor.I say this in case anyone reading this has tried a compression leg sleeve in ... MoreI have a competitors model from a few years ago that has been great, but those are bulky by comparison to the Jetboots from Therabody. There have been times where this was the case for my other sleeves and it certainly kept me from using them as often as I would've liked, but since getting these Jetboots they're a regular part of my post-activity routine. The controls and display have been streamlined to 4 buttons and duration/power level, respectively. You can set time to 20/40/60/"continuous" and the power ranges from 25-100 in 25mmHg increments. Unplugged I was able to do three 60 minute intervals at 100mmHg before I had to plug them back in to recharge. For comparison my older competitor model would get maybe 1 1/2 cycles at the full power.Recommended for anyone that is active or wants to help ease leg pain in general as they've been extremely beneficial to me in the few weeks I've been using them.

I found that the lowest pressure setting felt good but wished for a bit more pressure. Stepping up to the second level and the third levels felt like a better more therapeutic massage. The top pressure level initially felt like more pressure than I wanted so I have only used it for short periods at the end of my treatments. I have used this after cycling and walking and find that besides a relaxing massage that my legs seem less tight and sore than usual after exercise. I really don't have any expertise that would allow me to address the Jetboots ability to remove metabolic waste but I can say that my legs feel great after using them. Sometimes I use them just because it feels good.

[Rewarded Review] Helps with lower body recovery
28 September 2024

The Therabody Jetboots Prime are an interesting piece of recovery equipment for your lower body. There are 2 leg and foot sleeves that are attached together at the top. I slid my feet into the bottom foot area and then zipped the sleeves up my leg. I would recommend being somewhere that you can at least partially recline. I turned on the Jetboots and I could feel air filling the outer layer of the leg sleeves, starting with my feet and ankles and then working in sections all the way to the top. Once it felt all the way filled up, it would then deflate in the opposite direction. I could adjust the amount of pressure that I wanted to feel. The point seems to be to squeeze muscles and move blood up from the lower extremities. I used the Jetboots after some exercise and also after a day where I had to stand on my feet for quite some time. The sensation of the Jetboots filling with air I would most closely associate with the filling of an air pressure cuff on my arm, which could feel good to some people but could feel others with a sense of overpressure. But it has to fill to a certain amount of pressure to accomplish anything. So if you are a person that hates the feeling of being squeezed or not being able to move your legs much, I will give a word of caution. After the Jetboots fill and then start to deflate, there was a sense of my legs waking up after falling asleep. It was almost a tingling sensation, and my legs felt generally renewed. It is very quick to put on and take off. The leg sleeves roll up into a small bag for storage. I think it needs to be used a few times to be appreciated. The first time I used it, I wasn't sure there was much a difference. But after the second time, I felt like I noticed my legs feeling better. Now I look forward to using the Jetboots. There are different sizes of Jetboots depending on your leg measurements, so make sure to get the one that meets your leg length requirements. Overall, I would recommend the Jetboots to anyone that does a lot of standing on their feet or especially athletes that are looking to recover more quickly.

[Rewarded Review] My Nightly Relief!

The soreness and swelling are gone, and I can feel like the regular circulation flow has returned to my legs. The boots come neatly bundled in a drawstring sack backpack, with the charging cable stored in a small pocket within the backpack is. The JetBoots include zippers to easily get the legs in and out, so it doesn’t have to be put on like pants. There are additional zippers that provide access to the tubes and wires that power the inflating mechanism. It also comes with a very handy manual that includes illustration. The JetBoots work similar to a blood pressure cuff, it inflates to create compression sequentially, starting with the feet and working its way toward the upper thigh. The compression is divided into four sections, each inflates completely before moving to the next section, staying inflated until the whole leg is compressed. After this, the pants completely deflate, and the process starts all over. There are four pressure settings to choose from, 25%, 50%, 75%, 100%. I was hesitant to try the 100% at first considering how compressed my legs felt at the lower settings, but it was actually incredibly helpful once I did, providing the most relief. There are also several time options: 20, 30, 60 minutes, or continuous.Putting them on and sitting with them was not as uncomfortable as I imagined it would be. Lying down was even better though. My only two issues where I found discomfort were the groin area and the zippers. I think I may still have to work on placing it properly, but the gap at the top closes in as it inflates, causing me to have to shift to avoid pain. For reference, I am 5’9”, so I posit that perhaps I am putting them on higher than I am supposed to since I want to get as much of my thigh as possible and I still have extra room at the feet.As for the zippers, it is the internal zipper seams that are the issue. They are thick and stiff and there is one on each side of the zipper. There are times that I can feel them pressing against my legs when the pants are fully compressed. The thing is that they are not always problematic, and I am not sure as to why sometimes they bother and at other times they don’t. It may come down to what I am wearing or how I put the pants on. There is no barrier between the zipper and the skin.Surprisingly malleable, the JetBoots are very easy to fold up and store. They fit back into their sack with no issue, and I can take them anywhere I go. This is great because I go on regular road trips and the long hours sittings and driving affect my legs too and this will be a game changer for that.Overall, I am beyond impressed with the JetBoots. Leg compression has become a nightly routine for me after work. Since I started using it, I have felt so much relief, not only in my legs, but also in the lower back pain that results from leg muscles soreness and stiffness. It hasn’t ceased to amaze me how, after a day of nonstop walking, my legs feel so good as soon as I get up from a session. I believe that I can eventually figure out the two discomfort issues. I benefit far more from this than anything I have tried to date, and I truly recommend this not only to athletes, but also to those who work long shifts on their feet.

[Rewarded Review] My older legs appreciate these after ice hockey
30 September 2024

Seems more and more people are talking about compression boots, so I was really looking forward to finally trying them out with these Therabody Jetboots Prime, and for multiple reasons. Both recovery for myself as well as for helping with overall circulation for both my wife and I. I got the medium, or regular size and they fit both me and my wife perfectly. For reference, I'm 6'2" and she's 5'10".Let's talk about recovery first as that's where I believe these boots are most beneficial. I play recreational ice hockey, which obviously involves a lot of skating, and thus, uses pretty much all of my leg muscles. I'm also not young anymore and in my late 40's, so after a hard skate my legs feel it. I will say that these boots feel absolutely AMAZING on sore legs. Recently I had an outdoor event that had me running around on my feet in hot weather for over 8 hours straight. To say I was exhausted is an understatement, and having used these boots for several days at that point, I honestly could not wait to slip these boots on and let them do their thing. It was practically instant relief. There are really three parts of the recovery to talk about here when using the Jetboots. First is while they're actively working. The compression and the stages of how the boots air up is basically akin to getting a massage. As already mentioned, you feel an instant relief, and I especially find it very relaxing and calming. Next, is immediately after using the Jetboots. Getting up and out of them, my legs feel relaxed and not as tight. Finally comes the following day, or morning after. I can't say I notice a huge difference, but as I've been skating for quite a while now, I don't usually experience much soreness the day after like I did when I first got back into it. That said, as it was immediately after use, I could still tell that my legs just felt a bit looser, and almost no soreness at all.I do also believe this isn't something you can just use once and immediately feel the effects, except for that instant relief I was talking about. This is something that I think becomes more beneficial the more you use it. For me, I use it almost every day, even though I'm only on the ice 2 days a week usually. It's actually something I look forward to everyday though too, because who doesn't like getting a massage? Besides recovery, I feel like it helps keep my legs loose and ready for the next time I step onto the ice. I can't say how much of that is psychological and how much is physical, but I'd bet there's a little bit of both, and either way, it gives just a little bit of a boost in confidence.Recovery and sports isn't the only time to use these boots though. As I said, my wife is also using these even though she doesn't participate in any sports. She has however, dealt with circulation issues in her legs as well as vericose veins. She used these every night as well right before I did. She couldn't quite pinpoint exactly how these boots were helping her, but she said they were helping her feel better nonetheless. It was enough that she still uses it and anytime she comes home after being on her feet for a while, she can't get these boots on fast enough.Another great thing about these boots is the adjustability, while also keeping it simple. Really you set the pressure level from just 4 different options, 25%, 50%, 75% or 100%. You can set the timer also but there's an indefinite option and you can always pause/stop anytime you want. This makes it perfect to switch between users. For my wife, she sets it to 50% and says anything higher starts to squeeze too much and hurts. For me, I normally stay at 75%, which feels perfect. These are also wireless so you can use them just about anywhere, and the carry bag it comes with is perfect to take on the road with you. As a family we often travel to theme parks, and I honestly can't wait to use these to see how they help after a full day of walking 12 or so miles all around the park. The portability makes that so much easier to do. As far as the battery life, between my wife using it at 50% and me at 75% for equal amounts of time, a full charge lasted 3 full hours of use. They're also easy to put on and remove, even by yourself. If I had to find one bad thing, it would just be how bulky the battery/pump/controller is. Given what it does though, this is more nit-picky than anything else and given what all it does, is to almost be expected.Overall I absolutely love these Jetboots and will continue to use them regularly and most especially after tough sessions on the ice.

[Rewarded Review] Powerful Recovery made Portable!

As an amateur athlete, I discovered a few years ago the benefits of compression therapy. The downside has always been the setup and dismantling of the system after use, but this is not an issue with the Jetboots system! The Therabody Jetboots Prime system is not only lightweight and compact, it is also just as powerful and effective as my Therabody RecoveryAir Gen1 system! These also come out of the box ready to use IN their storage bag/backpack and are charged with USB-C. Setting up the system is just as easy as opening up the box, pulling the bag out of the box, sliding the boots out of the bag, slipping your legs into the boots, zipping them up, power them on, set the pressure, the time, and START! Now you're set to go! just sit back and enjoy the magic of compression therapy! The quick guide (as well as myself and experts) suggest starting at a low pressure and time, gradually working your way up as needed. A great thing about control system is that you can add more time and adjust the pressure while currently in a session. Once you're done, the boots deflate and can be stored conveniently back into the bag they come with until the next time you use them!I have been absolutely loving them since they arrived, borrowed them out to some friends at my run club before a recent half marathon we all did and they loved them, they asked if they could use them after the race, too (obviously they could!) and they loved them even more for how incredible their post-race recovery has been going! I'd recommend them, they'd recommend them (and are likely getting their own pairs before they drop mine off tomorrow), and with how quiet they operate, the people around you will recommend them, too!

[Rewarded Review] Quiet and effective

Having had a different brand single leg version for recovery from a surgery a while back, this is a surprising upgrade in direct comparison. No cables, no attaching hoses or finding the main unit. This is literally like a heavy pair of pants that will force circulation through your feet and legs. Then on top of that, the level of sound on this small device is hard to believe compared to the amount of pressure you get. With these Jstboots set all the way to 100, you are certainly going to feel it and it is louder letting the air out than the amount of time it is pumping it in. I have used these in bed and on the recliner while watching videos without having to make any adjustments to audio. As for storage and carrying, they are like a very heavily starched pair of pants with a small brick in the pocket. They are easy enough to fold away and put back into the carrying bag though. The inside is one surface, so it makes it really easy to wipe down if you were sweaty or just need to clean after so many uses. With a full battery charge you can get about 3 hours of use. Pending the time you use it for this could be 3 long sessions or several smaller ones.I can really feel a difference in my legs after each use. Like it pushed some of the stiffness and pain out, making my legs actually feel somewhat lighter. The only thing I wish this had was a better timer on them. As it is now you can set it in 20 minute intervals and it ticks down from 60/40/20 as you do a long session, but there is no indication of how much time you have left in that last 20 minutes.Overall, for a complete and fairly compact system, these are really impressive. Simple, wireless, and fairly quiet operation that makes a clear difference after use. It only comes confusing when I tell my friends I have Jetboots and they think I’ve gone space age.

[Rewarded Review] Really helps with recovery for active lifestyles

It was hard to visualize what exactly the benefits of the Therabody JetBoots Prime would be without having seen anything like them in action before acquiring them for myself, but after one use I saw the appeal. I’m a delivery driver, and I put up over 7 miles per day in steps and climbing in and out of my truck making the stops happen, so I am always needing extra stretching and rest to keep myself in the game particularly as I age. The JetBoots have helped me a great deal already in keeping my legs feeling limber and recovered after my long daily routine. They do come with drawbacks in that they are a bit cumbersome to unroll and get situated in prior to use, and then being somewhat immobilized while they work requires a bit of patience. The JetBoots have helped me a great deal already in keeping my legs feeling limber and recovered after my long daily routine. They do come with drawbacks in that they are a bit cumbersome to unroll and get situated in prior to use, and then being somewhat immobilized while they work requires a bit of patience. Thankfully, at least for me, they are worth it. My legs feel more relaxed and energized for my following workday than I have felt in years. They are wonderfully simple, requiring only a charge to the built in battery from an included USB-C cable, and selection of a few settings on the controller. Power, start/pause, pressure level, and time are the 4 buttons with which to interact. I started with 20 min at 50mmHg to get the initial feel for what I was in for and have since tried longer sessions at higher pressure as well. The instructions recommend various combinations depending on the needs. It goes up and down in 20 min intervals up to a 60 min session and 25-100 mmHg in 25 mmHg intervals. I was very grateful to discover that they would be on a battery rather than having to find an outlet to plug into when in use, and that battery at full charge lasted four 40 min sessions at 50 mmHg before needing to be recharged again. The USB-C cable they include is long enough to reach at about 5 feet, but it does not include an AC adapter which is unfortunately part of the norm with tech these days. Once done, you carefully fold them up and can store them in the included bag, and for travel you can thankfully lock the controls so they don’t power up accidentally. They are relatively compact when stored in the bag as well, making the idea of taking them on the road palatable. This sort of device is not for everyone, but if you live an active lifestyle be it for work or otherwise, and struggle with keeping your legs mobile and limber, this could really make a difference for you as it has for me.

[Rewarded Review] Uncomfortable As Currently Designed

Add to that is my yard work maintenance adding another five hours of somewhat strenuous labor per week. I recognize my body no longer recovers as quickly as it did many years ago and have been using devices to enhance my physical recovery. To alleviate occasional leg cramps discomfort, I have been reactively using a Therabody Theragun PRO (5th Gen) that functions very well. In addition, I have been using proactively a competitor’s leg massager with compression and heat functionality. (That device actually belongs to my wife for her peripheral neuropathy.) When I was offered to demo this newly designed “Therabody JetBoots Prime”, I jumped at that opportunity.SIZING: According to Therabody’s online material, this unit is designated “Regular” (medium) and is intended for individuals who are between 5-foot 6-inches to 6-foot tall. My height is in the middle of that range. Therefore, they should be sized correctly. Also, the box and manual information provides “Leg and Inseam” ranges that match my measurements.UNCOMFORTABLE: The way this set of jet boots (I believe Therabody’s most economical offering) are designed is flawed in my opinion. The two independent legs are attached by way of heavy-duty material that surrounds and supports the air compression tubing from the primary right leg to the secondary left leg. Unlike Therabody’s other offerings, there is a single air compressor and controller mounted on the right leg. The problem I encountered with this design was the thick connecting material and tubing was jammed into my crotch in a very uncomfortable manner. No matter how I tried to reposition myself or the boot leg tops, the experience was unpleasantly unacceptable.USE: I will admit once I got past the discomfort aspect of these JetBoots, they do preform as advertised with alternating leg compression and then release. The ability to select preset compression levels and assorted time duration are nice features. Plus, wirelessly designed with integrated rechargeable batteries, there is no power adapter cord to deal with while using. After use, and a somewhat lengthy self-deflation period, they will fold up for storage and/or travel transport in a fairly small provided bag.INCLUDES: JetBoots, storage bag, a detailed and fully illustrated instruction manual and a USB-C charging cable. Note that you will need to provide your own charger.RATING: Sadly, these Therabody JetBoots Prime earned themselves only a 3-Strar Rating primally due to the cost cutting uncomfortable design. Note that your personal experience may be completely different than mine, and these could be a more economical and suitable option for some buyers. But I can only recommend Therabody’s other compression boot offerings that have independent air compressors that eliminate the heavy-duty connecting material and embedding air tubing..
