It packs very easily and compactly too and is not a bad choice for taking with you on a hike. I bought one of these in the large size to try. Packed size is a little large, but fits in the sleeping bag compartment of my pack perfectly. I'm a 225 pound 6 foot side-sleeper. Sleep comfort while backpacking is my top priority, so I was willing to give this a shot even though there are lighter/smaller options out there. I didn't sleep as well as I do at home, but I expect this is about as good as a backpacking pad can get, comfort-wise. The texture is nice, it didn't feel like I was on a pool float and make me sweaty during the night. The pad held air nicely through the night and kept my pressure-points off the ground. The speed valve seems like a gimmick, I can't get it to work as advertised even after re-reading the directions and watching the instructional ... MoreI bought one of these in the large size to try. SV is nice for deflation though, works almost instantly. The pad is super quiet, I ended up buying a 2nd one for my wife.

Takes up far more space in the pack than I was expecting - about twice the size of my klymit insulated air pad. But it sets up/down easily and would be great for car camping or short trips

Ok
1 August 2021

Just spent six nights straight on this. Perhaps I’m not smart enough to understand the new features, but the wide mouth did nothing to help speed inflation for me- I ended up having to blow in quite a lot of air through the normal valve (blowing into the wide mouth is pointless). The pad feels more narrow and the taper at the end hand me dangling my toes at times. Not my favorite purchase.

SpeedValve How To
20 December 2018

Not sure if original reviewer will ever see this but I finally figured out how to use speed valve. Get it set up but pull face 2" away from speed valve opening and blow from there. It works. Putting your mouth directly on the speed valve, or too close to the opening will cause it to not work.

Purchased this product this past weekend and my daughter used it to sleep on. She said she slept great. Easy to inflate and very lightweight for backpackers.
