Bought this to put in the back of my Ford C Max. Have previously had a higher model (about 30 years old, from when we had a campervan) installed due to the dire situation with public loos , cafs etc being closed, so we can have a long day out. The old one (165) fitted fine but lacked headroom. This is much better for us 5'6" people and the new design is much better. Real quality and spares readily available. Remove one seat at the back and straps in easily. One strap goes right round the midpoint of the loo, above the flange. Three other straps (I use bike toe straps) lash through this strap into the 2 seat mounting points at the front and lashing point at the back. Completely secure. We already have a 365 Porta Potti which we are very happy with. We bought a 145 Toilet as it is the only model that fits nicely in our new Avan Cruiseliner Camper trailer. It is a well made product, but we have noted that the flushing mechanism is difficult to use and and not as effective as the 365 model. If you have space \ budget I would recommend the 365 model. It also has larger capacities.

Recently purchased along with the Blacksmith canvas bag and Aqua Kem Green 750ml. The potti and bag fit perfectly. Slightly disappointed the Aqua Kem Green does not fit in the internal storage compartment of the potti. I would of assumed Thetford would match the size of the fluid with the potti storage compartment. Appears I need to purchase a different brand of fluid that will fit. Otherwise great service and quick delivery once again from Snowys.

Good Quality Camping Toilet. Purchased as this would fit in the allocated space in my caravan and I have found Thetford products to be good quality in the past. It is mainly used by my 3.5 yr old as we don't want her going to ablution block or drop toilets on her own. With only her using it easily lasts a week before needing emptying.
Very disappointed. Efficient in disolving waste paper but loverflows water after flush, leaving both the toilet and the floor wet. Fortunately there is no smell. Wouldn't recommend toilet.
I bought the the porta potti mostly for my two teenage daughters for when we are off the grid camping.. they approve! The toilet was able to hold enough for 3 days use for 2 people ( that’s one’s and two’s). I would definitely recommend buying a cover as we did have a small amount of leakage, nothing major, but we were on some pretty rough tracks. It is also easy to empty and clean.
Well designed, clearly strong and durable. Superior lift/push down flushing action. Easy to use sliding opening. Precise easy to use Waste tank separating/connecting . Easy to clean quality plastics. Do need to reduce the prominence of the Out dated Childish product name. Porta Potty. We have taped/covered over this. Carrier bag needs to be discreet . The name....Thetford is enough to say quality.
Look, what can you say about BCF? You need something for camping, they usually have it. Need to talk to someone, they are there.I don't give a flying ficari rug in frogmouth, about doing reviews, but yet to come out of BCF and say what a total disappointment. They rock!
We took the Porta Potti on an overnight stay last weekend in our VW Cali and have to say we were delighted with it. It's compact, well built, easy to operate and empty. We did purchases a cover separately for when it's stored in the back of the van. Really pleased and would recommend. Importantly, its height fits with 10mm spare underneath the rear seat in a T6 Cali, perfect.
Instructions could be clearer on this product and the chemical additives, but it works well. Like everyone says; no bad smells at all. It smells like dishwashing liquid really. Doesn't spill either; I didn't fill it up 100% with fresh water in the upper-half just to be safe; and it survived in the ute tub as we drove all over Fraser Island. Granted we didn't use it all that much so no guarantees if you fill it.
