Muglers perfumes are unique and definitely 'far out' from mainstream scents.Alien is alluring, dark, and mysterious. I'd say it's more of a night perfume since it tends to be a little heavier than say, Alien Extraordinaire.The main notes I get from it are sweet and sultry, but not a candy sweet - its more of a fruity sweet. After the sweet, a warm amber note emerges and mixes with the sambac jasmine. The amber is undetectable and the longevity is garbage, so if you come across the original Alien and haven’t tried it, I can’t recommend it enough. It’s in my top 10 favorites easily.

Boy was I naive. EVen though I had been forewarned by EVERY REVIEW OUT THERE, it is a mixture between unique, sweet, odiferous, and feminine in its initial contact with your skin. It is such a unique fragrance it may catch you off guard when you first spray it. While I like the opening and the end, the middle the song has some uniquely irritating notes. When I first reviewed this perfume, I assumed it was just one note that I could smell. But after trying this scent multiple times (yes, I am a glutton for punishment when it comes to fragrance) I came to realize that it isn’t a singular scent profile that creates that malodorous tension in the middle, but the combination of the unique notes in the perfume and their interaction with my body Chemistry. This odd note shows up around the 30 minute mark and while I still find it unappealing, on me, no one else smells what I do. I have asked family and friends if they could smell this off note and they couldn’t. In fact, so,me said it was slightly sweet, akin to vanilla. Even though the notes are Jasmine Sambac, Cashmere, and Sweet Amber Accord, i have never had a negative reaction when wearing those notes, so there has to be more to the story than what they list on their website. Because I have tried this scent so many times trying to figure out that middle, I don’t find it as unappealing as I did a few years back during my maiden voyage. However, I will admit I’m still not a fan of what my nose smells during that part of the Alien song. Thankfully the odd note doesn’t last forever. Within a couple hours it is has disappeared and is a pleasant smell once again. The dry down is by far my favorite part of Alien. It’s definitely different than your average dry down, but neither is it overwhelming like the beginning and middle. It has a sweet dry down with a hint of earthiness about it. While I believe you can wear fragrance whenever the heck you want, I really like Alien in the winter. It is a great scent that can transition from day to night in the colder weather without becoming unbearably heavy. The unique notes hold up to the cold air, which is the most important thing when looking for a scent to wear in the winter. Does the cold air seem to take a great fragrance and zap it right into oblivion? It is a darker scent that is quite exotic due to the brilliant play within the composition itself. Alien lasts about six hours on me before I feel I am pushing the limit of the scent. I think it would be better to refresh it at about the four to five hour mark, especially if you are wearing this out for the evening. While I swore I would never buy another travel spray of Alien, I have and I will continue to do so (but I should graduate up to a full size just to save money, at the very least), because it is so very unique and I want to understand it better than i, the amateur fragrance junkie, really can. Funny enough, I own a few Alien flankers, all purchased to better understand the Queen Bee, herself. Will I ever? I really don’t know, but I’m not going to give up trying. In the meantime, man do I smell good.

When your good friends boy friend asks you what perfume you’re wearing then tells my friend to get it. This happens a lot. Although, I really wish the bottle was better looking, the stuff inside it is what really counts. It is an absolutely amazing scent that lasts forever and never fades. I wear it days and nights but I could see how people would say this is a nighttime scent because it does have a sexy appeal to it. It isn’t too sweet or floral and has the most amazing and alluring aroma. I love how long lasting it is and that you don’t have to spray constantly throughout the day. In addition I really appreciate that the bottle can be refillable and that is something that is rare and very eco friendly. I want to try some of the other alien scents now. OLD FORMULA- 5/5, NEW FORMULA 2/5

I have been wearing Alien since 2009. It's my ride or die favorite perfume and I gotta tell ya, Loreal royally screwed up the formula since they acquired the company from Clarins. A few months back I was almost out of my last Alien bottle and I had ordered a new bottle for when I ran out. I ended up getting Covid later that month and lost my smell for a bit. When my smell came back, I had opened up the new bottle that came in the mail and it just didn't smell right to me. Months went by with me thinking that Covid had affected my smell and I could only half smell things, until I find out this week that good ol' Loreal reformulated the Alien perfume and made it weaker. a decade long fan and now it is not the same

I have been Alien fan for a decade or slightly less. I had my first perfume 1oz bottle engraved at Saks and it smell lasted for 6+ years. It had the most amazing staying power. Even spray on purse spray too. I don’t know what happened since L'Oreal USA took over or is it cutting corners, but this set has no lasting power at all. It’s so sad to learn this and it won’t stay on even one full hour. Pervious versions stayed even overnight. What happened? I’m very skeptical to buy a single bottle or refill. When refill I got at Nordstrom didn’t last one hour. I am about to give up completely. It’s highly disappointing. It used to stay on and my go to evening or hang out w girls type of perfume and turned many heads. Please fix Alien formula. Not the same.
