Thrustmaster T300 RS GT Edition Force Feedback Racing Wheel for PC PS3 & PS4

-Bought the T300RS GT bundle 3 months ago and it has not failed yet.-Force feedback is quite smooth and quick. Rotation speed is fast enough for all but the most intense transitions when drifting.-Gas pedal is a bit too high to comfortably heel-toe with and the brake mod is a bit too stiff and sudden in feeling compared to an actual car.-My right paddle shifter had become less clicky by the second week.-Rarely I would experience the fan making an obnoxious grinding noise when actively cooling, which would only end after it slowed down.-The provided desk clamp isn't a great design, having free movement upwards and being hard to undo as the metal parts squeezed against each other to get it stable on the desk.-The default steering wheel also leaves a ... More-Bought the T300RS GT bundle 3 months ago and it has not failed yet.-Force feedback is quite smooth and quick. It does not feel the smoothest like a real wheel or something spinning on bearings.Overall, the price is quite steep for what you get, but the T300RS is an absolute must if you want to sim drift. It provides the fastest rotation in its price range which will make your life easier counter-steering.Quality issues certainly have let me down but for now it still works fine and I play Assetto Corsa nearly every day. I have had 2 Thrustmaster wheels (a T150 and a T300RS) and both have had the servo base failures. Fortunately the second one is still under warranty and they're offering to repair it, but it's going to take about a month after you consider all of the back and forth with Thrustmaster. Great, so I can have another ticking time bomb...Avoid the trouble and headaches and go with a different brand, not this unreliable trash.

The level of force feedback was pleasantly surprising and I like how I can swap for the TX level interchangeable wheels which puts this into a different tier than the cheaper offerings from Thrustmaster and Logitech. I've heard reviews that the wheel can overheat and people have had to reduce the torque values but I haven't had this problem. Then again with my busy life I'm only racing for 30-40 minutes at night a couple times a week and not pulling 5+hr endurance sessions every other day. Then you might want to look at a higher end wheel but in my use case it works amazingly well. I've used it with Forza (PC) and Grand Turismo (PS4) and aside from my kids occasionally switching from ps4 to ps3 or setting the mode to 2 euro (gas on left) when I'm not looking it has worked flawlessly for my use case. If you can find it at retail (~$449) it simply stomps out the competition of the G923 and the T248 (although the T248 has slightly better pedals) who also in that about $500 price point.The weakest link here is the pedals. With the conical brake mod they are useable and like the wheel before being mounted in my rig they held well on my carpeted floor. But in my opinion sitting next to the wheel they are lacking. They work for the intended purpose but beyond to getting a shifter (TH8A I also reviewed) or handbreak ( THSS not yet as my wife already thinks I spent too much) they would be my first upgrade to the system. While they all work mostly plastic construction just doesn't feel as robust and both gas and clutch have way too soft a press and feel a bit too linear in their application compared to an actual car. Those are workable but the brake is absolutely worthless without the conical brake mod installed. It still isn't right but gives the sense that pushing harder means more braking and not the pedal angle sensor which gives break input. There are additional mods like a load cell replacement that I may play with to improve the pedals but in the end I'll probably upgrade to the higher end Thrustmaster pedals LONG before I consider swapping out the wheel.tl:drA wheel and 3 pedal set turnkey sub $500 with a great wheel and pedals I'm willing to live with it. As long as you can find it at market value it still dominates the PlayStation compatible wheels at this price point.
