The joystick is decent. Nothing blows me away but it works as advertised. The throttle quadrant however is what has really impressed me. By default the throttles have detents along their axes that mimic the detents found in the actual Airbus A320 throttle quadrant. However what I really like is that if you're flying a non-Airbus plane then the detents can be deactivated. In addition the throttle quadrant has reverse thrust triggers that mimic those found in the real aircraft. Another bonus though is that these reverse triggers can very easily be 'locked out' to more accurately simulate aircraft that don't have reverse thrust capability; twin pistons for example.Right out of the box the setup for MSFS2020 was extremely easy. It did take a bit of remapping when I wanted to fly other aircraft though but it was still relatively straightforward.Overall, when you consider the price of other joysticks and throttles, the value you get with this combo is excellent.I highly recommend it. I've been very pleased.

But I do consider important to mention that if you are an aviation enthusiast the level of immersion that this product gives is something totally worth the price. I’m really looking forward to purchase the Quadrant Ad-ons as soon as they are available.

Pros: A very good starter kit for the price when on offer, maybe not at RRP though. The flight stick is very good and well built, the throttle is ok and has a very good feature to allow to change from ident to smooth mode underneath based on the plane you're flying.Cons: The throttle can lack response in some cases and after much calibration there is still some issues when flying certain aircraft on MSFS, maybe Thrust master can release another firmware update to help with this. Also the throttle has significant variances between left and right which means more calibration in game to counteract.

Just what I needed....
28 July 2021

I use FSLABS A32S family with P3D. This hardware gives a lot of stability and realism to the software. It's important to know how to configure the detent zones so it can match the counter part. The colours and feeling gives a close feeling to its real life counterpart. The real life one is pretty heavy so is nice to have a thrust module so light and practical. In comparison with other Thrustmaster products, this one, and in particular for Airbus software, it's pretty complete and simple at the same time. The only thing missing is the add-on. Please B&H... can you please sell the add-on? I'd be more than happy to buy it from you

Karl's review of Thrustmaster TCA Airbus Edition Throttle Quadrant Flight Controller & Joystick - Black & Blue
3 July 2021

Pros: Almost 1:1 scale levers and reverse latches. Colours and markings are accurate and detents are almost spot on to the real quadrant. When flying the FSLabs 320, it’s not far off actually being at work. As a first Officer, this quadrant allows me to practice for my command exams without having to travel the country to a sim.Cons: There are only two things letting this quadrant down;1. The friction on it’s tightest setting is not close to the real aircraft, which for a seasoned pilot like me means I am often applying too much power as the levers move too easily. 2. The lights on the engine start panel have been converted to buttons on this quadrant and in the FSLabs aircraft, these serve no purpose and that leaves me with two redundant buttons.

Love the combo
6 January 2022

Works really well for a lot of different aircraft.. I've used it in the airbus a320 and that's perfect. I've used it for single engine props and assigned the right throttle to prop pitch... works like a champ. A little light, the throttle quadrant tends to tip, but I fixed it with double sided tape easily enough. I HATE twist rudder to no end, but that's not the product's failure. The stick is very useful and modular. Very nice at the price.Only real con, it needs a sandbag in the bottom of the throttles to keep them more stable. OR.. maybe I just need to buy the other addons and get some weight that way. ;)

Nice Unit at a Reasonable Price
23 August 2021

Overall, it's a good control unit at the price point: comfortable to use, dead zone is non-existent, has expansion capabilities, you can remove the detents if you want, and switch the control stick buttons. It's not quite plug and play in MSFS 2020, There are several good YouTube videos and forum threads to detail the why and how, but you'll need to modify the button assignments for the engine master switches, and the flap / spoiler assignments on the quadrant. If you get this version (officer pack) you will need to delete throttle control on the stick also.I have not tried it on XP-11 yet so can't speak to how it will do there, mainly bought it to have a quick setup I could throw on the desk when my desk space is set up for working at home and don't want to set ... MoreOverall, it's a good control unit at the price point: comfortable to use, dead zone is non-existent, has expansion capabilities, you can remove the detents if you want, and switch the control stick buttons. It's not quite plug and play in MSFS 2020, There are several good YouTube videos and forum threads to detail the why and how, but you'll need to modify the button assignments for the engine master switches, and the flap / spoiler assignments on the quadrant. Rory's review of Thrustmaster TCA Airbus Edition Throttle Quadrant Flight Controller & Joystick - Black & Blue
23 September 2021

Pros: Excellent product from Thrustmaster. Works out of the box with Microsoft Flight Simulator (both the default and A32NX aircraft) and really adds to the realism. I like the fact that it can be adjusted to right/left handed use easily and it sits sturdy on my desk.Cons: I wish that they'd kept the TOGA and FLX/MCT detents closer together, as in the real aircraft. This results in a reduced range of movement from IDLE through to CLIMB. This can be recalibrated of course, but would still have felt more accurate.

Terrific hardware, meh software
12 February 2021

As someone who is type-rated on the Airbus I was excited to get this stick and throttle combo (and the upcoming additional add-ons) since it is very close to what I have in the aircraft. The hardware for the stick and throttles is very well made. You do need to use the included tensioning adjustment on the throttles since they ship very loose. The software however, is terrible. I used Thrustmaster products in the early 90's and I don't think they've done any work on their software since then. The interface literally looks like a circa 1991 interface. Using this with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 you need to use the default setting for the throttles rather than the specific setting to thrustmaster, or the reverse is in the wrong place on the map and it is just ... MoreAs someone who is type-rated on the Airbus I was excited to get this stick and throttle combo (and the upcoming additional add-ons) since it is very close to what I have in the aircraft. Yes, but it's still annoying that they have done so little work on the software side of things.

Don't be scared from negative reviews of this item. It's not perfect out of the box but I've never had any hardware work right out of the box. Then go to to joystick and select your Quadrant. Then you'll see add curve for each throttle 1 and 2. They have added help for setting up this quadrant as well as quick keys for the buttons and switches on the quadrant to save you time looking forever for them.5. Lastly go into the planes settings while in the sim and you'll see on the joystick page Rev on same axis. If that is not selected the plane wont know you have a reverse detent and your idle will sit at 27% thrustZibo works perfectly out of the box and switches work with some searching. Need to do set up #3 aboveSSG 747 and E Jet series works perfectly out of the box but switches don't work for engines but made hot keys for lights with the switches until a possible Plane update to use them. Not thrustmasters fault they don't work, its a software issue with the plane maker. Need to do set up #3 aboveLast word of advice you'll need to make sperate joy stick profiles for each plane cause each plane is different software wise. Save the time and just make one for each plane you useYes it stinks having to set these up but it's not the hardwares fault and yes you'll still need to make adjustments but that's the plane developers coding. Also use the forums of your flight sim community. They will help you with any questions you haveThe side stick is amazing very well built and works perfectly but might need some minor adjustments in sensitivity in the main menu. The swapable switches to allow left hand or right hand flying is great. I still stuck with right handed from many years of flying that wayI highly recommend these items and can't wait for the addons to finally be available for the quadrant
