How time flys, and just like that the kids bikes seem massive and no longer fit in the car boot any more. I had an older 2 bike Thule tow bar rack which was awesome, so the obvious choice was a 3 + 1. This is one of the latest models from Thule and much improved with easier compacting of the rack when not in use. I dropped very lucky on a second hand one, but they hold their value so well, buying new wouldnt have bothered me. Very simple to build when new. Super easy to put on the car, load with bikes and most importantly highly secure when driving. Plus easy remember and accommodate for the extra length as you always see the bikes in your rear mirror and reversing camera to remind you to watch out. The quality is great. The only downside is that is a bit cosy for 3 emtbs. I need to put some material where the bikes are touching to avoid scratching. Otherwise is a very strong build.
Great carrier, easily fitted to tow bar, platform type so very stable, no lifting, and less strain on carbon frames. Also very versatile for all bike sizes and frames.
Good quality tow bar fitted 3 bike carrier. Locks onto tow bar. Done a few small trips with it with just a single bike on to date. Secures very firmly to the tow bar- no movement with a single bike on. I hope it performs as well with 3 bikes on. Locking mechanism on the longest arm which would hold the 3rd bike - (furthest away). A pity that the other two arms dont have a lockable grip mechanism. A very impressive piece of kit though.
Robust, very very quick to fit like 30 seconds, solid electric hook up to car, secure and lockable fittings. Terrific. Expensive but very well made and an investment

The rack arrived damaged in two different parts of the rack, the most important was the light box and I had to repair it myself with glue. Is it possible to get replacement parts?
I already have one of these so i know how good quality they are. This was for my son and it is in excellent condition, like new. It has 3 different length arms to attach to the bikes to hold them still and the wheels are held in place with straps on the wheel guides, which extend to suit most bikes even coping with long wheel base DH rigs. When first putting 3 bikes on its a bit of a puzzle getting the bars in the right place to pass through the other bike to hold the 3rd bike for example, but doing a dryrun on the drive to get things worked out is better than waiting till the time you use it then being under pressure to work it out! especially with the kids/adults in the back of the car rolling their eyes....
