There have been comments about it being static but if you have ever run with a swivel wheel up front on a relatively heavy stroller, you will know that having a static wheel up front is the only way to go as it's WAY more stable and keeps rolling straight.The wheel features an adjustment for which you can use to alter the alignment. I bought the jogging kit for my Thule chariot lite and I am utterly disappointed. Have they even tested this product? They advertise it as a "jogging kit" yet the wheel does not pivot, it's stiff and does not turn at all, the wheel skids as you try to turn so your forced to tilt it back to turn which is SO inconvenient when running. As a long time Thule customer and owner of the chariot lite for a while now I'm shocked at the impracticality of this product especially considering the kit is so expensive.

I bought the jogging kit to use with my Chariot Thule Lite and while I find it awesome to run with on roads and fire trails, I can't figure out how to store the wheel and its arms with the little black strap that is provided with the kit. On the regular Chariot there's a boxy-bin on the back of the unit with 4 little attachment points but that isn't there on the Lite. Any suggestions?

The only thing better about the Chariot jogging kit is that the wheel is bigger than the Glide 2's front wheel, so it allows for smoother rolling of cracks in the sidewalk, etc.The Thule reps have responded to similar reviews by saying that the front wheel needs to be fixed for safety. This is somewhat misleading. The front wheel needs to be stable, but it doesn't need to be completely fixed. It is unsafe to run with a front wheel that can fully swivel, like the "walking" mode of the Glide 2. It is also unsafe, imo, to have a front wheel so fixed that you spend half your run balancing the stroller on the back two wheels just so you can control which direction it's going.If you will use the jogging kit as much as the bike trailer setup, I would seriously consider getting the Glide 2 and a separate trailer instead of the Chariot.
We bought the jogging kit to use the stroller in snowy streets. It work like a charm, super smooth operation. Highly recommended if you plan to use the chariot as a stroller during winter.
I saw somebody gave this a one star review and was curious why. I had to add a review, as I disagree entirely with the one star review. I love that the jogging kit doesn’t have a swiveling front wheel. I find it so much nicer when running with the stroller. It’s more stable, more efficient, and it tracks straight even when running on gravel and dirt. Not to mention much harder to tip over. After running with a BOB stroller for kid 1, and the Thule for 1 and 2, I think the Thule is much better for jogging. The swiveling front wheel is much more manageable for walking and everyday daily use, but it’s so easy to switch between stroller wheels, jogging wheel, and bike trailer, why not use what works best for what you’re doing? We were hoping to reduce the number of strollers we have - bike trailer, jogging stroller, and regular stroller. Unfortunately the Thule Chariot Cross doesn't solve getting rid of jogging stroller. I'm not sure why people are buying this jogging kit. It's poorly designed because the front wheel is fixed which makes turning it very difficult (it's sad that this is for their top of line product Thule Chariot Cross). I was suprised no product reviews called this issue out. Thule makes a Thule Urban Glide that is designed correctly where the front wheel isn't fixed.Save yourself time and money and don't get the kit
The locked wheel isn’t my favourite feature. Quite expensive for a wheel that doesn’t turn at all. I thought with the single wheel it would push more like a B.O.B stroller and would have a lot more control but it is 100% locked straight. Which is fine for some trails but living in the mountains a lot of our trails are winding which makes this wheel pretty impossible to use. Love the bike attachment and the stroller wheels aren’t bad but not quite rugged enough for trails I like to run. Wish there was a single front jogging wheel that swivelled :(
