This Thule solution to carry bags and baskets is a sure winner in my books. I have a Surron Light Bee X Dirt Bike which I plan to use to make deliveries by where I live. I will note that I did have to remove my front fender in order for this work but that doesn’t bother me as I have tried to make the bike look as little as possible as a Dirt Bike considering regulations by where I live. However if your looking for a solution for carrying bags with your dirt bike- than look no further as this is it. I’ll be honest I did my research and there’s not many choices that work with Dirt Bikes as the manufacturers don’t make or market them for Dirt Bike riders. I am grateful to Thule for making a solution that works hands down the best in carrying bags and packages.

It came with the straps fully ratcheted, It took me half an hour to figure out the key to release the ratchet, the youtube video was useless and did not show it at all, not to mention the black background for installing a mostly black item. Poor documentation and production!I'll cool off for a bit and decide if I want to actually complete the installation, reading some of the other reviews I"m thinking not!.A special tool to take it off, and what happens when I loose it or need to make adjustments on tour. Still don't have the 2nd stap undone so I can install.

Thule usually makes good products and this one is fairly good. My only issue is the V shaped rubber inserts that are used to protect the down stays keep falling out when you try to attach the rack to the bike. Makes for a frustrating process to install. Once in place the rack works well but because there isn't much to prevent the panniers from bumping into the spokes when hitting bumps you will need panniers with very firm backing.

I've recently starting using the Thule Pack & Peddle with the addition of the side frame to support 2x 25L Thule Panniers. Used them last week on a 4x bikepacking trip on Vancouver Island - Port Alberni to Tofino and Ucluelet. There's great support with minimal movement or rattling from the bags, frame and rack. Has good clearance all around they tyre so there's no rubbing. Positioning the rack in the best position did take some troubleshooting but got it set up perfectly now. The addition of the side frames was a good addition considering the price. I will be looking to add on the extending bolts to provide a little more clearance from peddles, but its not an issue. I've added these to my Cannondale CUJO on the rear. I have now had this Thule rack for a few weeks. I am very satisfied with the purchase. The only reason I did not give the rack a 5/5 was due to the cumbersome nature of installing it as a rear rack. The instructions were easy to follow, but getting the right height and centered was very time-consuming. Love that it came with all the tools. YouTube videos were also helpful in installation. Just be prepared to spend some time getting it fitted correctly so that it will look great!
Sturdy, strong and great quality. I've had one for years and we recently bought one for my wife. I'm baffled by the negative reviews. For those that have found the rack won't stay tight, you are turning the tightener the wrong way. I made the same mistake before figuring it out. You should hear a ratcheting sound while you tighten. Yes, there are rubber pads that may fall off while you are installing or removing, you could say that about many products. It's in no way an indication of inferior quality. It takes a few minutes to install and a special key to remove, but that's by design, it's a theft deterrent. Also, it's really the only option for a full suspension bike (which we have) since it doesn't attach to the seat post. Either way, I highly recommend it. The rack mounts well but is a little flimsy in design. It is advertised as being able to mount on a rear suspension bike which it does but the structure is too light weight for this application. The load carrying platform is only supported by a single bent tube which flexes under what you would expect as normal riding for a suspension bike and therefore the load can easily come lose. A support arm would make a huge difference. On another issue, the side rails are too close to the platform making it difficult to feed through strapping hooks etc.
This is a great rack which will not disappoint. Although expensive, it certainly will not disappoint. It looks stylish and can be used on different bikes without too much effort. I have combined it with the Thule basket for shopping and days out.It comes with 3 different length attachments so you can angle it just right for your bike.It is relatively easy to fit. I managed it on my own but it would be handy to save an extra pair of hands to hold it in position whilst you slide through the straps and clamp them in place. Each bar has a lock which you open with a key to slide the straps in and out. To tighten them onto the bike there is an Allen key which tightens at small increments.Recommended
I bought two of these Racks and two sets of the Thule Shield Panniers for my Houston to Sacramento BikePacking trip. The installation was not "Easy" due to the infinitely adjustability of the racks. But after adjusting, they were both sitting perfectly level and balanced. Along the way I removed the racks so that I could ride some trails. The removal and remounting was very easy since the adjustments had already been set. I had 30-35 pounds on each rack and I never had issues with the racks sliding or slipping. I would recommend this rack for anyone who wants a solid rack that is well worth the investment.
With covid here and inflated bike prices, I decided to try to make the most of my existing bike and thought to take it out bikepacking. The only issue is that it doesn't have the typical eyelets for a traditional aluminum rear rack and so I thought this would be a problem for this bike. Fortunately I found this rack - it is completely adjustable so I believe it would attach to any bike. This fits my Rocky Mountain Element that has a really sloped frame and I was able to adjust it to be level without any issue. The straps take some getting used to but otherwise it feels solid and I'll be using it with the side rails (purchased here separately) for some trips. Definitely recommend! Not crazy heavy either.
