Thunderspray for A Calmer Dog - 1110

After a harrowing drive in a rainstorm- my poor doggy gave me the most stressed out face I had ever seen - so I pulled into Petco heading straight for the pheromones-Holy Moley - within 20 minutes he was a different dog.Granted - we got home chilled - but the next day he has gone from a medium hyperactive Chi Hua Hua with tremendous separation anxiety some barking issues to a super chilled out version of the same dog.How powerful is that!He has been resting all day has the most pleasant attitude- I am definitely going to keep up with this. I have tried several of the calming sprays for my dogs and have gone through many bottles already. This bottle is the type that I like because it doesn't have a smell that lingers for humans to pick up on. It is pheromone based so the dogs can smell it and it calms them without needing to also smell like lavender or roses or what have you. The bottle size at 60ml is bigger than the others I have tried so the price for it doesn't bother me as much.now that I have realized it is basically double the other sprays I tried. I have barely made a dent in the bottle and by now I would have been probably half way through another.

Calming Spray

I bought this after reading do many positive reviews, with the hope that if I used it with the Thundershirt, it would calm my little girl down on trips in the RV. I made the 1st trip (4hours) last week and used it on both her bed and the Thundershirt. Alas, I didn't notice any real improvement; she still did not relax and panted the entire time. I guess at least she didn't whine as much, so maybe that's a start. I will use it again on the return trip to see if it helps any further. If I see improvement I will update and change recommendation.

Calming spray

I bought this thinking it would be something to use when we get company or workers that come to the house. Our dog has anxiety and barking at these times. This needs to used on objects close to the dog 15 minutes or more before. Doesn’t work for our needs. I am going to try a collar type instead.

He did not want to take it off

My dog is terrified of thunder, rainstorms, and loud noises. He only became that way the last couple of years. We tried everything. This seems to help a little and he does not pant as much. We start it earlier than the expected time of the storm. We used it New Years Eve and while he was nervous, he did not pant as much as he usually did. It is true to fit and is well-made. I think he likes it as he did not want to take it off.

Helped with separation and crate training!

I have a small puppy with mild separation anxiety that we are working on. He used to also have trouble settling in his crate during the day and sleeping through the night. This has been a HUGE help in training. After the first use, He used to bark for 2-3 hours after we left and it cut it down to 20 min. I feel it definitely helped him settle down a bit. He also now sleeps through the night and will nap in his crate during the day. This definitely is not a cure all by any means I.e you can’t just spray it and expect your problems go away but it definitely assists in training. The spray says 8-10 sprays per 5 hours. We were able to cut it down to 4-5 now. Worth it to see if your dog responds but again, it does not replace training

Pleasantly surprised!

I bought this on July 4th in anticipation of the fireworks. We had some severe thunderstorms prior to that, and my dog had become afraid of the sound. I had my doubts because my dog does not like to wear any clothes, etc.What a surprise that A: he let me put the thunder shirt on him without resistance and B: although not completely at ease, it helped with his anxiety tremendously!! I will keep using it and have high hopes that his comfort level with storms will continue to improve.I also purchased the thunderease calming spray to put on the shirt and it has a very pleasant scent.

ThunderEase Calming Spray Didn't Calm My Black Lab

ThunderEase Calming Spray did not seem to affect my 65# Black Lab mix. I tried sprayed it on her coat and in the air around us on Christmas Eve when we had family over that she hadn't seen in over half a year (because of Covid). The spray did not calm her down at all.On the bright side, it had a pleasant scent, and maybe on another dog it would work quite well.It was worth a try. I kind of just expected it to instantly calm her once I sprayed it, but that did not work.

Works like magic!

I bought this to help our puppy get through his first long car ride. We sprayed it where he would be sitting once before the ride and once halfway through and he napped quietly the entire way besides potty breaks. Since we had never done the drive with him before it was hard to tell how much should be credited to the spray, but we just tried it in his crate for crate training and he has been perfectly quiet since we left the room for the first time ever (normally freaks out as soon as we're out of eyesight and never calms down). It's definitely working for us!
