I find that these pens can remove most or all of a stain about 9/10 times. It’s really dependent on the type of material you stain, what the stain is, and how long the stain has been sitting for. The best way to use it is to let the tide solution sit then blot the stain with water/wash the garment. Also put something absorbent underneath the material so the tide pen liquid doesn’t touch you or another part of your clothes. I have saved a lot of clothes with these pens, I normally keep one on me when I’m going out. Another way to use them is to whiten your shoes! Works super well, just do a little spot test first if you are worried about ruining a certain material. I have saved my beloved vans using a tide pen (removed clay stains)

So, I was chopping onions the other day and cut my finger. My finger was being over dramatic and starting dripping blood everywhere, even my sheets, as I was trying to stop the bleeding I didn’t realize until later when the blood was already dry. We’ll, here it comes my fantastic Tide pen and the stain is no longer there, you have to use it as an eraser/pen and it would take off the stains just like magic. I tend not o use it on my shirts when I eat curry and even if sometimes you can see a little bit of the satin it tends to take it almost all away. Totally recommended

I just found the flower girl dress my daughter wore in my wedding December 1998. It got shoved in the back of a closet and forgotten. I now have three grand daughters that love to dress up. When i pulled it out I remembered that something had dripped down the front at the reception. Never got tended to. Pulled out the Tide To Go pen. It instantly brought out a chocolate smell, probably ice cream. Then the spots completely disappeared! I am stunned. Twenty-three years later those chocolate stains came instantly out of cream colored satin!

It's good
31 January 2022

So far today I have gotten to sriracha and enchilada sauce out of a light blue outfit. The only thing that I noticed that was wrong was that it smelled like poop. I've had this pen for maybe a year now. I remember a lady at work had one that was a little bit older and it smelled like poop too. I didn't see anything about an expiration date on there. Is there a reason for it to smell this way?? Other than that the product is absolutely amazing. I'm guessing after it ages it stink because when I first bought it and used it it did not smell. I did a quick Google search and some people compare it to vomit, but for me it's definitely poopy lol Can we figure out how to solve this stinky problem Tide?? This product is definitely a lifesaver and would hate not to be able to ... MoreSo far today I have gotten to sriracha and enchilada sauce out of a light blue outfit. Ruined at $50 shirt
30 April 2023

I hope all is well. I’m not sure about everyone else’s experience but the Tide Pen ruined a $50 shirt of mine. This was my first time using the product so I thought I was good but using the Tide Pen on green shirt caused EXTREME discoloration, I kind of wish I could upload a picture to show. My shirt now has a pretty sizable discolored patch in the front where the initial stain was slight . I would not recommend using this product, stick to the immediate soap and water.I thought this product would help but it really ruined my $50 shirt.

Ruined by brand new pants
12 January 2023

Sitting in my laundry room crying right now. I had the tinniest spot from blackberries on my brand new $50 pants and used the tide pen. I all the sudden noticed it was stripping the color so I stopped and threw them in the washing mashine quick to get it off. Well all that did is cause it to spread and now I have a baseball size area of my jeans that is completely stripped of its color 😭We don’t just have money to go buy new jeans and I’ve been waiting a while for these and now they’re completely ruined 😭Tide do you refund for ruined clothing by your products?

Ruined my 128 dollar brand new sweater, never use this
13 December 2021

I used this on some tiny specks of a stain from foam from a coffee that was almost out on a brand new 128.00 dollar White Ralph Lauren Sweater. It ruined my sweater it stained it a deep yellow and spread about 2 inches in each direction on every part that I applied it. What was like 3 tiny specks turned into inches of deep yellow blotched stains. I have since bleached the sweater 4 times and it never came out. 128 dollar brand new sweater completley ruined by a tide pen. Never use this, if will literally ruin your clothes. That sweater was very special and expensive and I only got to wear it this once. More than upset about it.

This gets rid of stains that others didn't
22 April 2023

I've used this on white upholstered fabric to get rid of cat dirt stains and it was amazing. So when my partner spilt his hot black tea on our new white and grey nylon carpet, after I'd poured cold water on it to dilute it (which didn't seem to do much) I reached for carpet cleaners and none of them worked. By the time I remembered about the Tide Instant Stain remover I figured I'd 'set' the stain with all the carpet removers - and other cleaning things like white vinegar and baking soda - that I'd already used. But NO! IT WORKED! It took a few days but it slowly started disappearing. I had to give it two applications but we got there in the end. Thank you Tide, you saved the day!

Unable to remove Blue Gel Ink
10 November 2022

Unfortunately for me the product did not remove any Blue Ink stain from a Blue Ink Gel Pen Stain that leaked in my white shirt pocket. No difference at all. Firstly, I followed instructions, removed the shirt placed in cold water and applied soap, scrubbing with a cloth. This did not remove much stain at all. I then used toothpaste on stain, and this removed the majority of the stain however stain could still be scene. I then used tide to go pen on stain, applied twice, removed with cold water and soap after rubbing in, however unfortunately in my case the stain remained the same. Thee was no difference at all. I had most success just using toothpaste. Perhaps I will have better luck next time, however in this case it was worth a shot to try, but I had better ... MoreUnfortunately for me the product did not remove any Blue Ink stain from a Blue Ink Gel Pen Stain that leaked in my white shirt pocket. Works on period / blood stains!!
6 August 2022

I was on an Amtrak to Chicago when Aunt Flow decided to pay me a surprise visit at the very end. When I got up from the seat to disembark from the train, a huge trail of blood slid down the side of my leg!! I was mortified. I tied a jacket around my waist, cleaned up the visible part of my leg with a hand wipe, and rushed to the women's bathroom. I changed, then rinsed my shorts in the sink, dotted the stain with this pen, rubbed it in, rinsed again. Did this a couple times, dried it using the hand dryer, threw it in my backpack, and forgot about it. When I pulled them out again... it was as if aunt flow had never visited!! This product is pricey but so worth it when your favorite pair of white-striped blue shorts gets stained. Highly recommend the investment!
