Tilley hats always look expensive when you first see the price tag, until you realise they have a lifetime guarantee that you just won't need because they really are almost indestructible.Unlike many hats which shrink with washing, these will always come back to shape. A good quality hat
Excellent quality is probably the first thing I noticed when took the hat out of the box. All of the stitches are well done and the materials seem to last long. The manufacturer recommends washing the hat frequently, which is also a sign of good quality of the materials. The good design of the hat is also something I want to mention. The mesh in the the top of the hat should keep my head ventilated during summer heat. The hat can be tied on whenever it's windy. It repels rain. It can be slightly adjusted in size. There is even a label inside the hat where one can write the name of the owner and the phone number. So, if the hat is lost, there is a good chance that it will be returned to the owner :-)Overall, so far I'm very satisfied with the hat and would recommend it.... Show more

Airflo purchased in Lahina
This is the best hat I have and I do have many. I perspire profusely while working in the garden or around the property. The sweat gathers on the brim and pours off when I tilt my head down. It’s a great hat for preventing cancer while outside and it breathes! I purchased this in Lahaina a year ago last September for my 50th anniversary. So after the fires swept thru the town I have this hat for memories!... Show more

Can't imagine I ever went without this hat.
My parents and grandparents have been longtime customers of Tilley and my dad wears one everyday of the year. When I was 17 I purchased the LTM5 to wear while lifeguarding and it’s the best clothing purchase I’ve made. I’ve used it for two years now, about 50 hours a week in the summers and it’s kept together wonderfully and has kept me cool and and comfortable the entire time. I got it in light stone, which I would definitely recommend if you are going to be out in the hot sun for long periods of time. The light colors will heat up way less.Hats like this aren’t the most stylish for people my age but the functionality of it greatly outweighs any style issues. Get a Canadian made Tilley while you still can.
Tilley Original--Made in Canada!Get one while you still can. Check the label!I was advised that the Tilley Company was sold and the new owners moved the manufacturing to China. When the remaining Canadian made ones are gone, it will just be the lesser quality made in China option.... Show more

Love Tilley
I own four tilley hats. I play golf 3 times a week and love the double strap which allows me to wear these with confidence in the wind. I just bought an LTM5 in white. The only thing that could improve this is if Tilley sewed a dark colered fabric under the front visor like they do in every quality baseball cap. I'll modify this myself, but wish it was sold this way.... Show more

Tilley LTM5
I've tried 6 different style of hats at a lower price point before biting the bullet to buy one from Tilley . I wanted a hat that provided more coverage than a baseball cap, flattered my head shape (short, round, big head), made of good quality materials, washable and bonus lifetime warranty. This fits the bill. If you struggle with finding a hat that looks good on you (not every one has a "hat head" most hats and touques I've tried on look terrible on me) give it a try!I took the recommendations of other reviews and would agree too that you should order a size up. My hat size is normally a 7 1/4 but I ordered 7 3/8. It was not too tight, enough wiggle room and can be tightened as well. It is a bit of a splurge for a hat but I think it will be worth it.Side note, ... MoreI've tried 6 different style of hats at a lower price point before biting the bullet to buy one from Tilley . The manufacturer's website also states this style made in China as well.... Show more

Tilley LTM5 Airflo Hat Khaki / 7 1/8 (57cm)
Really enjoying the hat. The 7 1/8 is actually too small for me so I ordered 7 3/8 because the one in between was out of stock. The latter is a little too big but not too bad.Anyway, it has been fantastic in Crete, with 32-40c weather this week. Very breathable, very comfortable. I like the look, which isn’t much of a UK Yorkshire thing but I’m fine with that.Customer service was superb as they rushed me the hat before my flight. You can buy similar elsewhere for half the price but no where near as much thought has gone into the product.... Tilley LTM5 Airflo Hat Rock Face / 7 1/2 (60cm)
First Tilley hat. Good brim and colour to protect from sun and great to pack in suitcase, coming out still looking good. Straps are rather confusing and instruction of how to tie/use would be helpful. Seems a generous size but think the loose fit helps cooling. Quick service online/delivery.... Show more

too hot
very comfortable on my head but wish the top part of the hat was made of a thinner much more breathable material. I took out the white foam insert hoping to make it more breathable but that didn't help much. The top material seems to be a vinyl like fabric. I wish there was a version of this without the silly velcro pocket (i may cut this out)which essentially makes a double layer on the top of the head and a more lightweight breathable top - then it would be perfect. I know the stash pocket is a "feature" for them but i'll never use it. Leave the side mesh for some air flow but improve the top! Would only recommend this for cooler conditions. Not good for warm hiking unless you want a wet sweaty head.... Show more
