Tilta Cooling System for Sony ZV-E1 Black Camcorder/Rig DSLR/Rig, Adapters, Support Arm & Rod Mounts, Dedicated TA-T35-CS-B
Keep your Sony ZV-E1 cool while doubling and even tripling recording times with the Tilta Cooling System for Sony ZV-E1 (Black). The cooling system quickly mounts onto the back of the ZV-E1 using captive thumbscrews and provides a 7-blade turbo fan to efficiently dissipate the heat from the camera. In a 95°F environment, it can keep the camera cool enough to record 100 fps 4K footage for up to 38 minutes, double the standard record time, and it can record 50 fps 4K footage for up to 64 minutes, triple the standard record time, before the camera can overheat and shut down. The durable aluminum unit is hinged so it can fold down 90° to allow the screen to pop out and store, and it features a speed adjustment switch to adjust the fan from off, low, and high-speed modes. The unit is powered using a separately available power source via its USB-C port, such as a battery plate or a power bank. Powerful Semiconductor for Fast Cooling Made by a precise six-layer structure and high-quality semiconductor materials. Mounts closely to the camera backplate to achieve full coverage and efficient heat dissipation. Swivel Design, Convenient for Storage When combined with the adjustable, swivel-based mounting point on the Full and Half Cage for ZV-E1, the heat sink can be rotated 90° away from the camera body. This allows the heat sink to be flipped up for storage even when the flip screen is in a closed position. Complete Coverage via Seamless Design The Cooling Module is equipped with a 7-blade turbo fan, fitting seamlessly with the camera backplate, achieving full coverage and efficient heat dissipation. Multi-Speed Cooling with Flexible Adjustment The heat sink can be adjusted using the switch on the right side to change between off, low-speed, and high-speed modes.

I am a fan of Tilta products, which is why I did not give it a second thought when buying. Well, it‘s exquisitely designed, looks sick and the hinge mechanism really works well on open and closed screen configuration. The problem ist: this fan is the loudest I have heard since unbalanced computer fans in the 90ies. Even at its lowest speed this thing will be picked up by any mic, even outdoors if you’re close to cam. Apart from the fan blade spinning noise it also emits a high pitched motor noise that is really hard to filter out. This makes it a „no mic solution“ only and as a first response measure to a hopelessly overheated camera. And there it shines: it can easily give you a frost bite if you keep this on you skin too long. This fan completely resolved all overheating issues on my Sony ZV-E1. Unlimited XAVC HS 4K, 60p recording while simultaneously outputting the Auto Framing crop through the HDMI out in a controlled studio environment on the lowest fan setting. The problem? NOISE, and a lot of it!Shooting outside on the lowest fan power setting, any non-lapel microphone within a 15ft proximity is going to pick up the fan noise. In my opinion, it's absolutely unacceptable to sell a product this loud for use with recording video. Though, I suppose it's possible that I got a defective unit.
