This is one watch you won’t regret buying. I am sure you are reading this because you are interested in this for the reasons that you know and this watch represents. It is much better in real than in the pics that you saw to get you excited. Often times it is the other way around where photos tell a different story than the real, here it is the opposite. Photo’s don’t do justice and this is all in context of the price that you pay for a quality timepiece that is elegant, timeless and a good timekeeper. I would highly recommend it.The strap is a bit hard and artificial looking, not like real leather so Timex can do better on that front but a strap is a strap. You can change it easily. The timepiece is worth it.

The sunburst green looks even better in the metal, than on the pictures. The leather strap looks quite good compared to what other brands sell you in this price segment. The domed acrylic is the highlight of the whole piece, paired with the sunburst green dial. Only criticism is the size, I think for a watch of this style a 37-38mm would be much more appropriate, 40mm is verging on to being almost too large. Oh and it won't be the most accurate watch you have, mine is running around +16seconds per day, but that is to be expected with a 8series miyota, and again, it is more about that vintage dressy everyday feel than being an engineering marvel. This watch is very nice looking and has been more accurate than expected. However, I’m quite disappointed in the quality control. I’m on my second version of this watch, as I returned the first one due to a few issues. Unfortunately the replacement has the same issues that appear the be common to this model based on other customer photos as well as my experience. The leather strap is a little on the stiff side. The sunburst/radial pattern on the dial face is not as noticeable as the photo (it takes a certain anle of light to show it well).The classic stylised numerals/boxes set the watch apart from others.Price is a little steep at $360 CA, considering it's has an acrylic crystal. To me, it's a worthy item to collect, mainly because it was modeled after the Viscount series from 1969... my birth year. Nice daily wear, otherwise, but the value may not be there for you.
Great piece. Really sophisticated looking piece. Looks vintage but not overdone. Keeps time fairly accurately. I have had it for 2 weeks and have not seen a major gain or loss of time.For the price its really a great piece. No complaints!
Absolutely love this watch. The design looks even better in person. Keeps perfect time, I think the Myoto movement is under rated because it is working flawlessly. The only reson I gave it four stars and not five is because it should have a saphire crystal instead of the mineral crystal. With the raised crystal it is prone to hitting things and I have already scuffed it, although it has buffed out. All in all beautiful watch for the money. It would be perfect if it had a saphire crystal, and a screw down crown, 100m water resistance would be nice as well.
Picked up the blue dial this week and was immediately impressed by the amount of watch you get for the money. Great retro vibe with the numbered indices at 3, 6, 9, and 12. The bubble crystal is fantastic. The watch is a perfect size at 40mm. Feel like it could be worn as a dress watch and a casual everyday watch. Will bump a few high dollar pieces out of my regular rotation. The photos on the Timex website don’t do justice to the watch when you have it in hand. My only regret is the acrylic crystal; I believe the website lists it as mineral glass, but it’s a nitpicky complaint. Actually another regret is that I didn’t buy an additional Marlin in green.
Dial colour is gorgeous and like others have said perhaps a tad too big, reduced to 38mm would have suited it better but that's just my opinion and others may love the size. It's certainly very wearable though.Unfortunately the marker at 12 o'clock on my watch is misaligned. I have contacted customer services twice but no reply and so can only give 1 star rating sadly due to the lack of quality control and lack of customer care.
Very happy with the watch. It's a perfect shade of green with a nice sunburst effect. Build quality is flawless. Straps are hit and miss with Timex. This one seems to be of good quality and is not too stiff.I'll take away one star for the watch's size. For a vintage homage, it should have been 38mm or less. And as a collector who knows a few things about vintage Timex watches, this model should have been named a "Viscount" (and not a Marlin). But I guess the Marlin name is more appealing to consumers.
I got the 40 mm Marlin in green yesterday. It has been out of stock for weeks so when notified by TIMEX I purchased it right away. The white “dot” hour marker appeared floating in the crystal when I took it out of the box. Clearly there is an issue with manufacturing or a returned piece ( others have had similar experience). Eitherways TIMEX needs to respond to this issue. Also the chat line is non responsive even though I made contact with the working hours noted
