I bought this watch in 2012 in preparation for a Boy Scout trip to Philmont. I wore it on a number of practice hikes, then Philmont, innumerable adventures with the Scouts. I wore on my 272 mile thru hike of Vermont's Long Trail in 2014 and several section hike of the AT. I have worn it while cutting trees, blocking and splitting 5 cord of firewood a year plus all the other tasks and family trips (car camping, canoeing, deep sea fishing etc etc) and so much more over those 10 years. The original band disintegrated from the sweat, water, and grime so I replaced with parachord band I made. Other than that I just replaced the batteries 4 or 5 times.I love this watch and it may the best watch I have ever owned!!

The expedition watches are great. I have 4 of the plastic versions. One on my wrist that I wear daily, one without the band glued to my car's dash, one that stays on my life jacket, and one to replace my daily wear one when I thought it was lost. Come in two diameters. The larger one rated water resistant to 50M; the smaller one to 100M. Both have been on my life vest when serious kayaking including rolling. No problems. Also easy to read. Day or night.

This is my 5th Timex Expedition.4 are 50 meters water resistant. And 1 is 100 meters water resistance. Then I have an easy reader Timex with stretch band. 3 of the watches need new leather straps. All of them need new batteries. I have always liked the Timex expedition watches. My wife and I have been married for over 31 years and I have always had a watch. Only one thing, By the time you buy a new band and battery you can buy another watch. But like I said I like my watches. Thanks for reading.😎

One more Expedition...

This watch was a replacement. The first Expedition I owned was very similar to this one, purchased about 5 years ago. It failed, I presume, due to a dead battery.I didn't bother determining if that was the case, because I had received SUCH satisfaction with that watch. I regularly kayak both fresh water and salt, and I also cycle long and grueling distances. The previous watch stood with me throughout, and I have to say, for someone my age who was around for the original 'takes a licking and keeps on ticking'...clearly Timex product continues to do just that. This purchase was a replacement along with two others, as I need backup for travel. Pleasantly surprised
19 November 2016

As a watch I wasn't expecting much, but have been pleasantly surprised as to how well this watch has held up.I was a park ranger for nine years, and bought this watch through the Arrowhead Store because it had the National Park Service (NPS) arrowhead on the face of it. I rarely wore it except on formal occasions for fear of breaking it. I have been through one Swiss Army watch and two Casio Foresters. After my second Forester broke, I pulled out a third only to find that the battery had died. In desperation for a watch, I strapped on my NPS Timex Expedition intending to replace it with another Forester at a convenient opportunity. That was over a year ago, and I'm still wearing the Timex. I am astounded at how much better I like this watch over the Forester. I am astounded at how much better I like this watch over the Forester. The time is easier to read in the dark, the date is easier to set, and the indiglo light is bright enough to serve as an impromptu flashlight in an emergency. Additionally the wrist band doesn't give off a pungent odor like a sweat soaked Forester. While the Forester is about half the price of the Expedition, I feel that the benefits are worth the extra money. My next watch will be the TImex Expedition Field Watch.

Terribly disappointed. Took over a
22 June 2024

Terribly disappointed. Took over a week to receive it and it came with a dead battery, so clearly not working, and with the date out of whack. Brought it to Batteries Plus and after replacing the battery, the second hand moved at 5 second intervals. The technician said to return it but I threw all the packaging away or I would have. I'm sure its a good watch and aesthetically pleasing but I got a lemon and I'm stuck with it.

Nice watch. Bright face and easy to read. I will be using the metal strap from my previous Timex. Similar pricing to a competitor that didn't have the white face available.

Watch Great, packaging NOT!
16 March 2023

The Timex Expidition Watch is great. Packaging was not. I received the package with no box for the watch, just the plastic display ring which was broken and the watch itself was just thrown into the thin shipping bag with no padding or bubble wrap. I can only say that the watch took a licking in shipping but it keeps on ticking!!

Watch came without directions/box/scratches
24 February 2024

I disliked the fact that the watch wasn't in its original box,and no directions, come on walmart and to top it off had scratches on face of watch, and looks way smaller then what description says i wasn't very pleased on how it was shipped in a plastic bag with no protection ,where's the original box,and directions and who sends it to a customer like it was sent to me,very disappointed, and sent with scratches tops it all off, unbelievable. ..

long time wearer
22 April 2018

I have recently started wearing watches again. So, I put a new battery in my "Expedition". No big deal right? Except I bought this watch when they first came out.It has been strapped to the handle bars of my motorcycle that has seen more states and miles than I care to mention, in all weather conditions ie. rain, snow, extreme heat, you name it. I was also a structural ironworker and it was my work watch. From swinging a 20lb. beater to welding it was right there. I grew up with " Timex takes a licking and keeps on ticking" It was true then and I'm sure its' the same today.
