Just be aware that this is a discontinued model and you are buying old stock but it's an excellent watch. I bought this to replace one that had survived 30 years hard use including four wars, temps from -15C to 50C+, swimming, snorkelling and on a few occasions accidentally being taken scuba diving. My old watch had out-lasted several 'replacements' including two very expensive dive watches. It's basic, rugged and easy to look after. I'm now approaching 70 now and don't expect to have to replace this watch.

Really like the look and the Indiglo feature. End of strap should be rounded to feed more easily through keeper loops.

Good for the price as usual. Timex's Indiglo system is so good it leaves me with no other choices. I'm a bit disappointed with this one as I ordered it online and the photograph of the product is deceptive. The specs say grey case which is correct but the photograph indicates a very dark grey (the case and dial look almost the same tone). The product is actually closer to a mid grey and doesn't look anything like as good as the photographs in my opinion. The other way the photograph is deceptive is that it shows a watch with WR 100M printed on the dial although the specs do correctly say it is WR 50M. The end that feeds through the buckle is not tapered which makes it a little harder to take off and on, but it is not a big deal. After some breaking in, it should be fine. If you have a big wrist, possibly greater than 8 inches, then this band may not fit. The color of this band is unusual: Depending on the light, it can appear olive drab, tan, and even grey. Not a deal breaker at all. I kind of like it. If you are active and get sweat and dirt on the band, then it can be easily washed. That's a plus!There are a lot of reviews mentioning loud ticking of the watch. That may well be, but I don't notice anything unless I place it next to my ear.The date can be easily changed; however it does require carefully pulling the stem out half way and finding the right position to only change the date without also changing the time. Yes, it does require some "fiddling" to do this. But once the stem is in the right position, it's easy to quickly change the numbers to arrive at the date. It lacks precision in that regard, but it is an inexpensive watch.The hour, minute, and second hands have that luminescent/"glow in the dark" stuff on them and work OK in low light/darkness; but the Indiglo feature is very nice and works well on this watch when needing to read the time in low light/darkness.As expected the quality is not the same as my old Victorinox watches, but the Timex Expedition Camper also costs much less while still delivering a lot for the price. I'm happy with it and recommend it.
I am currently working as an HGV multidrop driver and needed urgently a new work watch. I spotted this one and its ideal for this environment working in all weather. It is in my opinion great value plus its a Timex.
Bought this for my Pre-Teen son. This watch looks durable and slightly tactical. Band is described as "Gray" but it is actually khaki green. Looks nice. Also this is an "Indiglo" watch, where the whole face lights up as a backlight, very nice feature. I listed the one con as it is a little on the small side, but this was perfect for my son. Overall great value.
I like the practical design of the Expedition for both indoor and outdoor needs. I work with a compass and agree with the resin case. (Metal cases can influence a compass). I also agree with the crown guard which preserves the crown and prevents it from snagging. (I lost my old watch on the subway when something snagged and released the spring bar and consequently the strap). On this model, the strap encases the spring bars in hard plastic (or resin) which can only be accessed from underneath. Timex quartz watches can be accurate to the second which is useful for Astronomy. This Expedition model has an easy-to-read Date Window.
The light up feature with the watch hands is a great feature for when you are outside at night camping. The water resistance is also a great addition. I was looking for a watch that I could wear when I'm in the field doing field work labs for college. The 39mm size is a good fit for women who want a durable watch that looks and feels good.
Oddly enough I have been watch mad for years and have many so called superior brands such as Rolex and Vacheron Constantin etc For practicality and stylishness and all round ruggedness my Timex Expedition is a great great buy. Exceptional value for money too! It amuses me greatly whenever I bump into one of my watch snob friends who stand aghast open mouthed when they see me wearing a Timex. The Indiglo feature is a belter too. My only tiny gripe is that the date window is a smidge too small. But fr all round value,style and functionality the Timex Expedition simply is outstanding. Love it ,love it, love it.
