Timex was founded in 1854 under the name Waterbury Clock in Waterbury, Connecticut. Even in its early days, the brand was revolutionary when it used metal gears instead of wood and discovered assembly line manufacturing for themselves. Timex also produced the first Mickey Mouse watch under license from Walt Disney. Timex is still one of the top players in the watch market today – both analog and digital – as evidenced, for example, by its 2019 collab with Supreme New York.
