So I've been coloring my hair with genuine henna for a few years now. I have medium brown natural hair color that;s about 10%-15% gray. I wanted to try this henna cream because real henna takes at least two hours on me to set and that's a huge time commitment. This was just 30-40 minutes, so I thought I'd try this. I don't think I'll use it again, though. The color came out kind of dull-looking. Usually my hair is so shiny after using henna, with beautiful auburn and golden highlights! The texture also felt very dry and crunchy, even though I conditioned a LOT. Overall, I'm going back to genuine henna. The results weren't all that spectacular.

Applying the henna dried my hair out so much it made a matted knot I had to get a hairdresser to help remove and partially cut out. There was no indication in your comments or instructions that it would have this effect. No conditioner was included in your product. It seemed like common knowledge that henna dries the hair out, yet your product doesn’t seem to include any warning or treatment to prevent it.

This is a nice product, I was content with the results, although not in love. Here are the things that I liked the most: 1. The color. I love the color result. It is a subtle change and very close to my natural color, with a rich brown and some henna hues from certain angles. 2. Gray coverage was about 75%. It kind of seems like some of my grays absorbed it and others didn't. I only have gray on the underside of the hair framing my face, not all over. I actually decided I liked this, because It looks like I rolled back the clock and have some smattering of grays, but not a whole frame. (and yes, I left it on the extra time recommended for grays) 3. I liked that you don't have to mix the color with a developer. The color is ready to apply in one bottle. This is much easier. 4. not stinky, not burny, definitely you can tell it's more natural. Here are the things I either didn't like or am neutral about: 1. Even though you don't have to mix a developer with a color, it doesn't save you any time, because this is a three step process. First you wash your hair with the clarifying shampoo provided, then you put on the color, then you wait (10-15 mins longer than conventional haircolor), then you rinse and condition. This is two shower sessions instead of one. All in all, it takes longer. 2. It did not affect my hair condition one way or another. It didn't dry it out further, but it also didn't nourish it or make it shinier. 3. It seemed to take the curl/wave out of my hair, which I totally wasn't expecting. Depending on your hair type and how you feel about this, this could be a plus or a minus. My hair was a little flat when I finished. So, in summary, the best thing about it is the color itself, I would consider using it again for that reason alone, but it didn't seem to nourish my hair and I'm not sure how I feel about the "smoothing" or "flattening" effect. May just be my hair; my hair is very fine, tends to be dry, can be frizzy, but also can have a very nice wave or curl depending on humidity. If I was feeling like having straight hair, I might use again just because I really do like the color result.

I have been using this temporary hair colour cream for some years now and it works very wellon my hair, keeping the grey away and giving me rich brown hair. One use lasts for four or five months. The cleansing shampoo provided with the colour is wonderful and I wish I could buy it separately as well.I highly recommend. The only caveat is that a cap for putting on after applying the cream no longer comes in the box. Luckily I've kept an old one but my question is why are caps not supplied?
Left my dark shiny hair very dry and dull. The colour dulled down some of my white hairs, but it didn't hide them. I only have the first signs of grey, so hoped the henna would help hide them. It helped but didn't do as much as the video I watched where it covered someones greys.
I am so happy with the colour I chose to dye my hair. Golden brown actually come to live on my hair as golden brown and left it so soft and nourished. I am suffering from hair loss lately and this product seemed to have kept in under control. Every time I wash my hair, it feels like I’m not loosing that much of it, since I’ve used this henna cream. When I applied I was worried that it will stain my scalp as well, but it did not at all. So I’m very pleased with that too. As it washes off, it gradually fades the colour, so technically you cannot even see the difference between before and after wash. I have a few grey hair now, so perhaps will try the permanent dye next, but this is a definitely highly recommended product!
I love these natural hair colours. The colours are rich on my hair. They smell great on application and my hair looks healthy and shiny. I also love that they dont irritate my scalp.
I am an African Canadian woman in her 50s who always had long and naturally healthy hair. My nickname used to be Miss Ross (as in Diana Ross). I have never had damaged hair in my life until now. I can’t wear my hair out - what little is left of it after all the breakage. I can’t take a picture currently. My mane is hideously damaged. Don’t buy this product. It’s cheap in money but you pay with your hair breakage.
Long time purchaser of Tints of Nature because the semi-permanent does not irritate my scalp. Very allergic to permanent dye, stains what have you when it reaches my scalp. The itching is very real and enough to go all grey. Not with this one. I can safely use it all over and does not irritate my scalp at all. It doesn't seem to matter which of the brown hue's I use because they all turn out on the red side which is what henna does. The golden brown however does not offer much color on grey roots. Might be okay for touch up. I can also use any shampoo afterwards and the color stays in. Yes the tint does stain the scalp but after washing the first time it goes away. I like this brand and hope they keep on selling it or offer another brand that does not have PPD's in it.
I knew I was taking a chance, but this box said 'chocolate' -my bad assuming that meant brown?? As I was applying it, it looked bright red, I just figured it would turn brown as time passed. NOPE. My brown hair came out burgundy while my grays all turned candy apple RED. I immediately scrubbed my hair with shampoo 3 times and woke up the next day to scrub some more. My hair now looks TERRIBLE. Buyer beware.
