I have nothing bad to say about the quality or taste of this marmalade. I am though really annoyed that the jar is now of a much smaller capacity. As a previous reviewer has said, this is a shoddy price increase. It seems underhand to present this as the same jar. Previously 454g, now 340g. We know manufacturers are facing difficult times but be transparent!

Bittersweet marmalade with thick pieces of peel, absolutely delicious - thats what it used to be, but not anymore. I understood why there was a price hike but the quality has also been declining. Our most recent jar had no peel at all, more of an orange jam than a marmalade. Will have to try Frank Cooper or Duerrs. A real shame.

This might be the best marmalade we've had. The consistency is perfect for spreading. It's not too runny. It stays on the toast. Lovely strips of soft peel. The sweetness has merged with the oranges perfectly and I put this down to very slow cooking. Marmalade could not be any better than this.
I have two favourite marmalades, the Old Times Tiptree marmalade and this one. It gets 5 stars for tasting great and having no nasties added! If you read the ingredients for many premium Marmalades, its surprising how many have nasty preservatives etc. added. Im guessing this is why its price point is higher than many other marmalades.
I love marmalade - it's a simple joy to me.And I love thick dark cuts - in my humble opinion this is one of the best thick dark cuts now available. OK, so I have a break sometimes from Tawny, trying other brands, exploring the world of marmalade - but always come back to Tawny regularly, maybe there is no better. marmalade ? in my mind its the best.
I have bought this marmalade for at least 4 years. It is without a doubt the best tasting dark tangy one on market. However, I will not pay the price for 340g jar. Do the manufacturers think the customers are daft? Please keep the size the same and explain they need to put the price up for the foreseeable future. Be honest please.
What a huge disappointment this marmalade is. Back in the day, we used less sugar so the marmalade flavour was more of the oranges. This product tastes of blandness. Its vague and bland. Ive never had such a boring non-descript marmalade before. The tangerine & orange by the same company brand is amazing. As Ocado didnt stock it anymore, I chose this as a possible replacement. Nope. I would advise the company not to bother with this one old times marmalade. Its an insult to Old Times!
Sugar & Seville Oranges - no unnecessary ingredients. A very, very good marmalade with chunks of orange skin. Note that in April last year Tiptree started to use a 25% smaller jar but reduced the RRP by only 7%. This was to account for extra manufacturing costs without going over the £3 price point. Waitrose has not reduced the sale price & still sells a jar at the old RRP. Thus I'm giving 1 star for a 5 star tasting product. Other retailers have reduced their RRP.
Tiptree Marmalade is the only marmalade I will buy, and I have tried many. My favourites are the Old Times or Orange & Tangerine. The rind is thin and they are not over sweet or jelly like. In my opinion cant be beaten.
