Tokina atx-m 23mm f/1.4 Lens For Fujifilm X-Mount
Tokina atx-m 23mm F1.4 X with an angle of view equal to approx. 35mm full-frame (wide angle) is designed to be the perfect tool for amateur or even semi-professional photographers to take street snapshots, landscapes and close-up images. Optical Performance Special optical design formula along with two low dispersion (SD) glass elements produces excellent optical performance and corrects aberrations. Wide and Bright F1.4 Aperture The wide F/1.4 aperture provides a beautiful depth of field effects and control. You can shoot shallow, putting all the focus on your subject, or stop down the aperture for a ‘bigger picture’ look and feel. It also gives you better performance in low light, great when working in challenging lighting situations. Fast, but silent AF Tokina atx-m 23mm F1.4 X implements an accurate, sensitive AF system that interacts fully with the camera body. Quiet and quick focusing is done by the ST-M focus engine. Click-less aperture ring This lens implements an aperture click-less ring that allows users to control the aperture manually from f/1.4 to f/16 in video mode, but also automatically (position A) through still mode camera settings. Superior close-up shooting abilities Tokina atx-m 23mm F1.4 X can focus on subjects as close as 0.3m. This specification enables close-up and table images to be taken, thereby broadening the way this lens is used in a range of situations. Full communication with the camera The lens is fully communicable with the camera body to support 5-Axis In-Body Image Stabilization.

I bought this lens for shooting performers on my cabaret events and I'm very satisfied with the purchase. The 56mm focal length is roughly 85 on the crop Fuji sensor and that's perfect for shooting a person with comfortable distance. There's no chromatic aberration that you'd find with other affordable 3rd party lenses. Nice build quality and the photos look great stopped down or wide open.

I got this as my FF equivalent nifty-fifty for the APS-C Fuji X-H2S. I could not be happier with the lens. It's a nice fast lens at a convenient focal length that takes beautiful pictures. Images are sharp, even wide open, and the colors with the Fuji are excellent. Bokeh and OOF areas are smooth and pleasing to the eye. There is a fair bit of chromatic aberration on high contrast areas when shooting wide open (f/1.4), which is to be expected. It is fairly well controlled at f/2.2, which still gives you the advantage of a fast lens. It is not particularly noticeable on lower contrast subjects.AF feels snappy, and is quiet, though not silent (not a problem for me). MF is electronically controlled by the large focus ring, and feels quick and precise. The aperture ... MoreI got this as my FF equivalent nifty-fifty for the APS-C Fuji X-H2S. MF is electronically controlled by the large focus ring, and feels quick and precise. The aperture ring is a nice feature, but honestly on the X-H2S I usually keep it on auto and control it through the camera. I do wish the ring had a lock to keep it on auto. There is a very SLIGHT detent between auto and f/16, but not enough that I don't feel accidents couldn't happen. Fortunately the ring is VERY tight and doesn't just turn if you bump it. This may be a drawback for those who want to use it frequently for control. I am not sure whether it will stay tight with heavy use either, so something to keep in mind. Also, since it is not a mechanical ring but an electronic control, it does not open and close smoothly, even though it turns smoothly. Filmmakers looking for a smooth iris open/close will be disappointed. There is no weather sealing, so also something to keep in mind if you plan on shooting in the elements a lot.Overall, a great piece of glass with AF features that cannot be beat for this price. I was between this lens and the Sigma 30mm, and went with this because of reviews and samples I saw. I was not disappointed.

The subject was nothing special... just an interesting looking tree trunk. My first photo with a new Tokina 33mm on a Fuji X-T2 was a tree. The Tokina 33mm is the sharpest, most natural lens I've ever seem. Images it captures are stunning.

I had a choice between this and that other similar 23mm F1.4 so the Tokina was on sale and from what I have read it supposedly has better coatings and better internals since Tokina has some kind of agreement w/Fuji.After trying it out for a few shoots I can say that I like it. A lot.Pros: Built well. Lots of metal including the hood. Sharp, nice bokeh and looks good especially in the center @ 1.4. By 4 it sharpens up overall. It renders a little on the cool side w/my X-T3 but has a nice character wide open. Oh, and on sale here @ B&H it was the same price as that other similar 23mm F1.4Cons: Little heavier than what I'd hoped and a little distortion and some vignetting wide open but alas! At almost half the price of the Fujifilm XF33mm f1.4 R LM WR, The Tokina ATX-m 33mm f1.4 offers fantastic optical and build quality with fast silent autofocus. My only complaint is the declicked aperture but for what I paid for this lens, I live with it.
Very sharp and beautiful rendering.
This lens is extremely sharp, well built and acts just like a native Fuji lens. Great buy!
The optical performance of this lens is great, but it's nearly identical to the Viltrox version but at a higher cost. I don't really see any benefit to purchasing this one over the Viltrox so far. It was nice that Tokina offered the 52mm magnetic filter with it for free though.
Tokina is licensed by Fuji, and the firmware is an authorized copy. The auto-focus works perfectly on my X-T10, while the Viltrox version of this lens did not. Apparently Viltrox reverse-engineered the firmware and didn't get it exactly right. Both lenses do have the same glass however, and it's fantastic. The images are razor-sharp and have a Zeiss-like quality, with great depth and micro-contrast, and vivid natural color. I shoot mostly chrome and I get a bit more of the classic cinematic look I'm after with this lens, compared to my Fuji's.
Used this lens with x-t4 for several months almost without changing. I liked the sharpness at an open aperture, slightly soft corners. Great alternative to more expensive fujifilm lenses.
