I have absolutely no idea how I ended up with a bright red lipstick. I assure you I NEVER would have chosen this color, and opted out if reds were my only choice. I don't wear red lipstick, ever. It washes me out and makes me looks even more pale and my dark circles even worse. That being said, it showed up, and it is Tom Ford after all, so I wasn't going to let it sit there. It is a much brighter/orangier red than it appears in the tube. While it is a very buttery lipstick I noticed 2 things right away, and this could be the color as opposed to the actual lipstick. First is that I found it very hard to get on evenly. Granted, my lips are uneven, but this exaggerated it like no other lipstick. First is that I found it very hard to get on evenly. Granted, my lips are uneven, but this exaggerated it like no other lipstick. I usually put lipstick on in the car without even looking, but I also usually wear a shade fairly close to my natural lip color. The second thing I noticed is that I thought it was feathering at first, but I realized it was just exaggerating the wrinkles around my lips. I'm a former smoker, and have never noticed the "old lady smoker" lips until I put this on. Again, I feel both were most likely more the color than the actual lipstick. I really liked the formula itself. It was super moisturizing, I actually forgot I had lipstick on at one point. It does seem to be a bit more long lasting than other lipsticks, but it could be the color staining my lips. All in all I think it's a good lipstick, but the color is so terribly wrong for me I'll never wear it again.... Show more

I have conflicted feelings about Tom Ford's lipsticks - I do love some of mine, don't get me wrong, but I've found that the quality is inconsistent, even within shades that share the same formula . Blush Nude is part of Tom Ford's permanent 'Lip Colour' range, which are satin lipsticks with opaque coverage and high pigmentation. I own over a dozen of the Lip Colors and if I didn't know otherwise, I wouldn't be surprised if you told me that Blush Nude was an entirely different formula from the others.Like the previous reviewer, I was taken aback by the smell and taste of this lipstick. I own over a dozen of the Lip Colors and if I didn't know otherwise, I wouldn't be surprised if you told me that Blush Nude was an entirely different formula from the others.Like the previous reviewer, I was taken aback by the smell and taste of this lipstick. Tom Ford's lipsticks are scented with vanilla and I find them very pleasant to wear - no icky taste or overly strong smell. Unfortunately, Blush Nude is a whole different story - it smells like a tube of lipstick that was opened in the 1970s, shoved into the back of a dark, dank drawer and then forgotten about for the last four decades. I actually thought the first tube I bought was rancid and ended up exchanging it. But lo and behold, the second tube I received had exactly the same issues. In terms of texture, Blush Nude is drying and uncomfortable to wear. It doesn't apply evenly, and has pretty much zero slip to it so it really tugs on your lips. It also looks visibly cakey, drawing attention to all the fine lines on my lips (which I had barely noticed until I wore this). It also - and this is a bit disgusting - wears incredibly badly over time. By that, I don't mean that it fades away or disappears quickly. Nope, quite the opposite! Instead, it gradually breaks down into actual crumbley bits that settle in the corners of my mouth. It's actually really gross. It looks like crumbs of food or bits of dead skin. Just ick.And that's before we even get on to the colour of this lipstick - oh boy. Now, I know nude lipsticks tend to be polarising. What looks good on some of us will look terrible on others. I can only speak for myself but as a cool toned n15 person with dark hair and eyes, Blush Nude makes me look like I'm suffering from acute hypothermia. Like it just drains the colour out of my lips and makes them look totally bloodless. If I wanted to look like I belonged in a morgue, Blush Nude would hands down be my first pick. But generally speaking, corpse-chic isn't the look I go for so I don't get much wear out of Blush Nude. I know it's a bit unfair to criticise the colour of a lipstick because it's so obviously a subjective thing. But Blush Nude is genuinely, I think, probably an unflattering shade for most people. For example, my mum is very tan, has fantastic bronzed skin, and is exactly the sort of person a nude lip typically looks good on (I'd say she's probably nc35-40, with warm undertones). But nope, Blush Nude is just as bad on her and makes her look pallid and sick (and this is a woman that swims and plays tennis daily.)All of this isn't to slam Tom Ford's lipsticks - that is absolutely not why I'm writing this review. Like I said, I love some of his lipsticks (Indian Rose and Negligee are truly swoon-worthy). All four of the other Lip Colours I own have a satiny texture and a lovely vanilla fragrance, wear well for 4-5 hours and are flattering on the lips. So Blush Nude has been the exception rather than the rule. However, for this extortionate price, there really shouldn't be any anomalies. And having tried Nude Vanille and Sable Smoke in store, I can say that in terms of texture, they were very similar to Blush Nude i.e. cakey, heavy and drying. These are all pale, nude shades and I do wonder whether that may have something to do with the weird formula disparities.Bottom line: This lipstick was a real disappointment for me on just about every level (ok, besides the packaging - Tom Ford nails that aspect completely every time). However, the biggest issue I have with Blush Nude is that it's reinforced the concerns I already had about the quality and consistency of Tom Ford lipsticks. At this point, I just don't feel comfortable enough to buy them sight unseen anymore, no matter how pretty they look in swatches. For anyone who's considering this lipstick, I think at this price point, it's worth exercising caution and checking it out first in person.... Show more

I've always been a fan of TF products but this is the first pinkish lipstick I've had. I'm utterly in love with it. The colour is beautiful and it blends really well. The rouge stays on all day and still looks fresh and bright even after hours on my skin. I can't recommend this lippie enough. Love it.... Show more

$52. Let's just get that out of the way now. We can all have a collective gasp. GASP. But no joke, this is the best cosmetic product I have EVER used. My makeup closet is quaking at that statement. I had been attracted to the Tom Ford counter at Bloomingdales in NYC whilst buying a fragrance as a gift. And as amazing retail counter workers can, she persuaded me to let her do my makeup. I still thank her to this day (although my wallet doesn't). The COLOR is AMAZING! So pigmented and rich. But what I love about this lipstick is that is has a glossy sheen that looks so natural and gorgeous but has the staying power of a matte. It is the best of both worlds! Whoever said you can't have your cake and eat it too clearly never met Tom Ford. Another amazing perk of this ... More$52. Let's just get that out of the way now. We can all have a collective gasp. Whoever said you can't have your cake and eat it too clearly never met Tom Ford. Another amazing perk of this lipstick is that it wears evenly. Most lipsticks cannot claim that because it depends on so many different factors, but because this lipstick is literal magic in a tube, it can say it with confidence. I apply it at 7am and need no touch ups until 5pm. When it finally does begin to wear off, it wears off evenly and beautifully. Personally, Indian Rose is a perfect everyday shade for me. It complements my skin tone beautifully (a fact that I didn't know until I worked with the amazing lady at the Tom Ford Counter). Casablanca is another amazing shade, similar to Indian Rose but slightly darker, perfect for a night out. But lets talk about that packaging! It is so gorgeous! The sleekness of the black and gold. It reflects the light so beautifully. It feels so luxurious. The only thing my lipstick is missing is Tom Ford signature. If I had one wish, I would turn back time to go to the TF event where he signed the lipsticks and tell him how much I love this product.... Show more

I received this product complimentary for testing purposes. Scarlet Rouge is a really fabulous red lipstick! The formula is super creamy and the shade of red is so bright and punchy without leaning too orange. I'd describe it as a bright, true red. The finish is pretty satiny which isn't usually my go-to but it gives this bold color a really sexy vibe. Worn alone the color starts out a little sheer but can be built up to full coverage. I'm wearing it with a red lip liner in the picture which gives it a deeper color and longer wear. The packaging is heavy and feels so luxe! My one and only complaint is that I don't love the shape of the Tom Ford bullets, they're a little too wide for my taste, but overall this is a fabulous lipstick, and I would absolutely recommend ... I have this in the limited edition color "N4 Neutral party". It's a rosey brown shade. I have been wanting to try a Tom Ford lipstick and have been eyeing this for a while but couldn't bring myself to spend $58 on a lipstick. I finally bit the bullet and purchased this during the Sephora sale. Honestly, it's an "ok" lipstick. It's not as creamy as I thought it would be. This lipstick does have a satin finish which is nice because most of my lipsticks are matte. Its a little bit difficult to apply because it tugs a little bit. The lipstick itself is also kind of big compared to some of the other lipsticks that I use and it makes it a little messier to apply. Would I purchase it again? No. Most likely not. This review is for the shade Thomas which is a matte light neutral plum. I love this color for the fall and winter months and it makes me feel really put together without having to wear a red lip. It isn’t too vampy or gothic and doesn’t give me 80s flashbacks or Kardashian vibes. It’s a great shade if you have light to medium skin and the color is quite opaque so your natural lip color doesn’t really impact how it wears on you. Even though it’s a matte shade it isn’t at all drying and wears evenly. I maybe reapplied once during a pre-pandemic night out. It’s pricey for what it is, but I feel like I’m paying for the quality product and not the packaging even though the packaging is also quite lovely. I never reach the bottom of a lipstick tube, so the amount of product doesn’t bother me and I actually prefer the smaller tube size. Highly recommend!... Show more

Love this luxurious lipstick! Goes on smooth, stays put, and never feels dry! Other brands tend to change color on me or dry out my lips not Tom Ford. Velvet Cherry is a bit of a deeper cooler toned red, I get that classic red feel when wearing. In the summer I apply reds lightly to get a soft stain, this formula is perfect for this. Either alone or with a gloss on top. I have to say this again because it’s so hard for me to find a matte lipstick that feels so nice going on and stays that way, but this lipstick is just that. The pigment is rich, and the color is very true. I have always loved Tom Ford lipstick, in every formula I tried and the lip color matte will keep me loving Tom Ford lipsticks for years to come.
