This product is very easy to use and great if you’re 100% bottle feeding you’re baby. Since I was a breast feeder who used the occasional bottle however, I found that it wasn’t worth using this steriliser as it took up too much space on the bench to only be used sporadically and instead used the microwave steriliser bags. Makes a great storage system for clean bottles in the cupboard though! Would definitely recommend this to anyone formula/bottle feeding their bubs but for breast feeders it’s probably not worth it since you won’t necessarily get your money’s worth out of it. If you haven’t had baby yet and don’t know if you will be bottle or breastfeeding I’d hold out and make do with other methods until you decide :)

Bought this when expecting for my babygirl 💗 Although I had no intention of bottle feeding her as I wanted to only breastfeed, I thought I’d buy in case I couldn’t for any reason. Alizah is now 3 1/2 months old and I’ve breastfed her exclusively. So no bottles were needed till it became difficult trying to go out shopping etc finding no breastfed friendly zones to feed when outside. Thankfully had already purchased this to make life easier to sterilise bottles which I’m only starting to introduce. •Very versatile •Quick sterile without any fuss •Allows you to sterilise upto 6 bottles at a time! Which is amazing to prep on the go and store for later😊👍 Thank you @tommeetippee for creating and designing this product which is very helpful esp to new moms 😊

This steriliser isn't well designed at all. In order to get rid of residue water in the base, you've got to unplug it and carry it to the sink, pour it out and then try to put it flat again without getting water drip into the electric compartment underneath. There is also so much residue water from the steam in the lid, that when taking it off the water drips out everywhere all over the kitchen side. The shelf easily falls over - you can lift the lid as careful and straight as you can but it'll knock the shelf (which isn't stable) and sterile bottle parts will then fall off onto the floor. It takes longer than five minutes too - one time it kept going for an hour. I went back down to the kitchen to find it still sterilising and the metal piece had burned chalk from ... Bought this as part of a set and had to descale within the first week of use. Baby is formula fed so have to use it twice a day and the plate keeps burning at the bottom! I descale it every week and it continues to happen after one use. TT were less than helpful when I contacted them following my bottles discolouring and smelling burnt !! They were adamant it was because I live in a hard water area (I don’t, I checked) and asked a multitude of questions then stated to use several “stronger products” which I did (although the website says otherwise). Even after doing this the same thing happened with the heat plate and I am not only out of pocket from that but also having to buy new bottles. Even after doing this the same thing happened with the heat plate and I am not only out of pocket from that but also having to buy new bottles. Horrendous customer service and have taken no responsibility. Going off other reviews it seems this is a consistent problem that should be rectified before more sterilisers are sold to avoid any further issues. I have now been offered a new steam steriliser following weeks of emails back and forth, which would be great if the same thing didn’t happen again.
The heat plate burnt out after 2 uses I was told to descale more often. I don’t live in a hard water area although they said that could be the reason but I don’t. They use that reason to try fob people of as they can’t just admit the product is useless and give people their money back. I told them it gets burnt out after every use so they said I had to descale it for 24 hours after every use... this was the advice so how would I ever be able to sterilise a bottle if I had to descale after every use it would just constantly be rescaling and no bottles to get sterilised. Why would you sell a product that you have to descale daily at that rate you would be rescaling it more than you would using it to sterilise. Just don’t bother buying it. Also the steam collects all the condensation in the lid which goes everywhere when you take it off the plastic shelving inside is so flimbsy you only have to gently touch it and everything falls over and you then have to sterilise again. It just adds hassle to having a newborn. So much more hassle then it’s worth and so many bad reviews but all getting fobbed off with the hard water area excuse. Why make a product that can’t deal with peoples water. Even people in a soft water area get told the same thing. They can’t admit their faults!
My husband and I love Tommee Tippee products and exclusively use them for our newborn which led to this purchase to ease the nighttime stress of boiling water to sanitize bottles. This sanitizer fell so absolutely short its kinda bad. the heating plate was burnt right out of the package and we're not talking limescale looking buildup I'm talking caked on brownish burnt residue. Next after cleaning it best we could and adhering to the directions we went to run the first cycle to loosen up anything else that could've been caught but as soon as we'd turn on the power button it would immediately switch off. I don't know if we had gotten a returned product but the box was also damaged upon arrival. Although the brand is amazing avoid this product altogether.
I bought this way back last year ready for my little one, around the beginning of the very first lockdown in 2020. I started actually using this horrendous product after my little one came home on the 16th January. It lasted a month and broke after descaling, (there was no sign of any limescale up until the point i descaled it), It only came on for 30 seconds and then the light would turn off indicating it had cut out, so had to cold water sterilise all bottles, tried running a cycle the next day and it would not work at all. Fair to say I threw it straight in the bin and ordered another one from a completely different brand! I’m glad I got your steriliser for half price in the baby event at an Asda. I would have been outraged having paid £70 at normal price at the time for it to break after a month. Must be why they were the only ones in the baby event going for half price.Do not waste your money on this product! Feels cheaply made also. Really disappointed tbh because I had an older model of one of your sterilisers for my first child and it was amazing.
This is our third baby and we had the older model TT steriliser with the previous 2 children and it was great! We got this one as the old one cannot be bought new anywhere. What a waste of money. Who ever designed this really needs a new job. There are so many faults with this design, Firstly Try holding a Crying baby in one arm and being able to even lift the lid alone never mind the tray to access the bottom shelf with your free hand without toppling everything - It doesn’t work! You need to put your baby down to even go near this machine. Where as with the older more practical model You could simply lift the lid with your free hand and Less distress was caused to the baby or yourself. You need to put your baby down to even go near this machine. Where as with the older more practical model You could simply lift the lid with your free hand and Less distress was caused to the baby or yourself. The water from both the lid and tray leak all over your work top every time when you lift it and it’s another mission to clean that up! Such a nuisance. Unless you are really gentle and lift the lid with your two hands (Easier said than done when you have kids) you will knock the top shelf over, tossing all the contents and needing to re sterilise again! You really need to clean under the plate part each time with a tissue, and I mean under it not just around or over it, I can guarantee there are so many who haven’t realised about the build up of brown ‘gunk’ under the rim of the plate even after one day that is disgusting. Descaling every couple of weeks is no good when it’s rotten in a day and this is what a child is drinking from. The tissue needs to be squeezed in and Really rubbed into it untill you get the dirt out. Try having another child who climbs up to get a dummy out of it when they’re sterilised and needless to say because of the design, tips the entire thing over each time, when this never happened with the older model. These may seem trivial but untill you buy it you will see what I mean and will wish you hadn’t wasted your money. Had no fault with the previous steriliser hence why I bought a new TT one although
I gave birth only 5 days ago and have already ordered a different steriliser that includes a drying function. If you're after a sterilise only machine then this is fine but it takes forever to then try and dry the bottles etc afterwards compared to when I've boiled them in a saucepan. Wouldn't buy again. Also I have only used it twice and it looks like I need to descale it. Super arduous especially with a newborn no one has the time for that to be done so frequently.
My son will be two months old in a few days. I have used this sanitizer at least 2 to 3 times a day. We descale it at least once a week or once every two weeks. It worked great up until a week or so ago. It stopped working properly. We hit the start button and it sounds like it’s working but then it shuts off. And I honestly have no idea how long it’s been doing that because I walk away and don’t watch it the whole time. It leaves some moisture on the inside so there’s no way to know unless you stand there and watch. We’ve noticed if we wait a minute it will shut off but then If you hit the button for the second time (sometimes a third), then it will finally work properly. I’m looking into getting another sterilizer now. NOT the tommee tippee one.
