Topeak JoeBlow Booster - Tubeless Floor Pump
The Topeak JoeBlow Booster pump makes it easier to install tubeless tires. This pump has an integrated aluminum air chamber that stores an air charge of one liter, up to 160psi / 11 bar, to quickly fill your tire and ensure the proper bead seating on a tubeless rim. Once you flip the selector from CHARGE to INFLATE mode, air bypasses the chamber and flows directly into your tire like a standard pump. Integrated aluminum air chamber can be charged up to 160 psi for fast release when needed. Top mounted gauge conveniently placed and easy to read. Air release button allows dialing in exact air pressure.

I had a hard time getting this to work on 26 inch tires. This doesn't deliver the air in a big enough volume to get the tire to grab. Tried it with two sets of tires and finally gave up and used a CO2 cartridge. This will be returned. The tire has to be perfectly mounted for it to work. If the tire is perfectly mounted you can usually just use a regular pump which defeats the purpose of this pump. Nice pump but for 160 bucks it better work better than this.

I bought this pump after struggling to get good bead seating with tubeless setups on some rim/tire combos. The Booster Pump feature is fantastic. Seriously, this will seat just about any tube/tire combo with less fuss than using an air compressor and definitely better than trying to use a standard floor pump for tubeless which is almost impossible. Where this pump fails though, is doing double duty as a regular floor pump. The Topeak "SmartHead" should probably be renamed "FrustrationHead." I have two trikes and a cargo trailer and because they're all 20" wheels or 16" the SmartHead is almost impossible to engage with a Schrader valve. The ONLY Schrader valve this pump will engage with on the FIRST TRY is going to be a fully threaded valve stem like a Schwalbe with a nut that locks it into place in the rim. A standard Schrader will push back into the rim and there's almost no way to get the pump head to engage with them on the first try. It takes several tries and usually having to completely deflate a tire to be able to gain enough purchase to shove the valve stem into the pump head. It works fine on Presta valves, but even then it feels like there's too much room and you feel afraid that you're going to bend the stem on a Presta valve as well. Honestly, their older design with a different Presta/Schrader head on either side is a better design than this "Smart Head." Honestly, I have to give it 1 star because it's WAY too expensive for what it does and the fact that as a regular pump it fails miserably in usefulness. Unless you have LOTS of tubeless tires to do on a regular basis, I'd give this pump a hard pass. Either use an air compressor or find another booster solution from another manufacturer. This just isn't worth the expense.

Bought this because #1 I needed a floor pump. Works great as that. #2 and more importantly, this makes setting up tubeless tires a breeze. Use the charge feature, pump it to 11, and you’re ready to bead your tires. No need for air compressor and way easier than frantically pumping with regular floor pump.

This pump, while pricey, is worth it if you are working with a tubeless set up and you have no compressor. The pump is easy to use, the pressure dial is up high and easy to read. You can build up a pressure reserve of 160 PIS which is more than adequate to set the beads on even the stiffest Mtn bike tires. The only negative (for me, a short guy at 5'6") is that full retraction & contraction of the pump handle at higher pressures can be a challenge. I like to use my body to leverage the downward stroke.I highly recommend this pump.
Topeak quality, easy to use. Have used a track pump and tank together to seat tubless tyres. Now made things easier by have the one pump that does two jobs. A little expensive but I spread the cost using interest free payments so well worth the expenditure.
This pump was given to me as a gift from my daughters as it had the option to switch between the valve types. Our family has different types of bikes with different tire valves. I have tried to use this on different valves and I cannot get it to work. Idea for pump head is great in theory, but in reality: THIS PUMP IS GARBAGE!!! I cannot adequately describe my frustration using this piece of junk!!! Need to rename product to Stupidhead,
A large box was delivered to my house, and I had no idea what it could be. Opening the box, I saw to Topeak logo and remembered the pump I had ordered. I took the pump out of its packaging. This is a nice, heavy, very well-made pump. I immediately went to pump up my tubeless road bike tires.Charging the filling chamber was quite easy, needing less pumps than I thought. I had read some reviews for this pump, saying the pumping action felt "soft". I did not feel this. With the cylinder charged, I connected the pump to the tire and twisted the release valve. There was a rush of air, and the tire was done. For the other tire, I used just the pump feature. Again, less pumps than I thought were needed to get to pressure. The gauge was steady, and easy to read. The handle ... MoreA large box was delivered to my house, and I had no idea what it could be. I have not used the pump to seat a flat tire yet, but am confident that it will perform as expected.Overall, I think that this is a great pump. Yes, it expensive, but it is so well-made, and is quality all the way. I am very happy with my new pump, and would recommend it to anyone who has the cash available.
Beautifully built, sturdy and high quality this pump is all you will ever need. Valve, charge chamber and handle are extremely well constructed and it is easy to switch between inflation and charge modes. The subtle air pressure release buttons make dialling in your desired pressure a doddle.Charge mode is a beast and I have had no issues with first time bead alignment and that gratifying pop on either 26, 27.5 or 29ers since I have included the Joe Blow into my garage set up. A must have for any tubeless mountain biker. No more crying after the 10th attempt to get the beads to snap - this thing is an essential piece of kit!Great price and brilliant service from BikeInn.
Since I already own an air compressor, my choice for inflating tubeless tires is really between this, or the PrestaFlator air compressor attachment for over $100 less. If you need portability this wins, but it's not necessarily less effort. While I WAS able to inflate my tubeless setup with this, I didn't always get it on the first try, and it takes about 40 pumps to charge the chamber up to 160 psi. Those last 10 pumps are a sweat breaker! I think my compressor delivers a more forceful burst, which means you're more likely to have to use soapy water to get a good seal with this. For me, I think I'll be returning this because I just don't see myself inflating tubeless outside of my own garage, but if you want to be able to seat tubeless out on the trailhead, I ... MoreSince I already own an air compressor, my choice for inflating tubeless tires is really between this, or the PrestaFlator air compressor attachment for over $100 less. After referencing written and video reviews of floor pumps I chose the JoeBlow Booster floor pump because it best fit my needs. It can handle low pressure and high pressure applications and is easy to use. I especually like the long hose, smart head, and top mounted gauge. Yes, it is pricey, but IMHO well worth the cost.
