Mine lasted a week before making awful mechanical noises and becoming unusable.I believe it's a design flaw. The drive is powered entirely from USB, so if that power cuts out (which a lot of laptop USBs do), the drive heads make contact with the spinning platters.Also BestBuy only does exchanges or store credit for returned defective drives.

4 TB for the low cost of 103.00 is a steal. Using for Music, video and picture backup device. I haven't tried to play games directly from it but from what I understand it could be done. However, If your looking for a gaming drive I would definitely go with SSD.

4 TB for the low cost of 103.00 is a steal. Using for Music, video and picture backup device. I haven't tried to play games directly from it but from what I understand it could be done. However, If your looking for a gaming drive I would definitely go with SSD.
Get it if it looks good. It feels like you have one accidental drop before it breaks but I didn't test that part. Everything runs great.
As another user mentioned that this HD only have 3.63TB available instead of the 4TB. Another problem I encounter is that I am unable to access any files after the HD is plugged and idle for a long time, I had to forcefully do a manual disconnect the HD and re-plug it back in, I cannot even do a safely remove HD from the computer first before unplugging it.
I would give this drive a 0 star if it were possible. The drive's data transfer speed is an abysmal 500 kb/s or lower. TRIED to transfer only 20GB and it was running all day and still didn't finish.. I had to interrupt it. Did a couple of tests transfers and did no better. I wished I tested this early on when I purchased it but didn't have time. Just wasted money. Will be contacting Toshiba. DO NOT GET THIS DRIVE!!!
Quick delivery! Ordered yesterday and received today! It is working efficiently after plugging in my laptop. Very easy to use. Th size is thicker than expected, otherwise, no complain at this moment.
It works with my iPad Air 4. Of course, you'll need a usb-a to usb-c adapter (I recommend Belkin) or a hub with a usb-a 3.0 port that works with iPad. And you'll need to format the drive to exFat or Fat32 with a pc or mac because you can't format an external drive with an iPad. All of this isn't too difficult and it's nice having 3.63 TB of external storage for my iPad Air 4. It might seem like a bit overkill but from my experience, you can never have too much hard drive space. Especially if you start recording a lot of 4k videos with the iPad Air 4. Plus, this drive came in my fav color (red) so that's an added bonus.
I hope this drive has the longevity to go with its speed. Both my last Seagate and my last WD failed before their warranties were even up; I didn't want replacements of unreliable hardware and tossed them.
This thing is great! It was on sale under 110$, but even at full price I’d say it’s still worth getting. I bought it to use as an external hard drive for trips and couldn’t be happier. Incredibly simple to set up - plugged it into the back of the laptop, got a pop up on that is ready to use . I was surprised at how small it is too. Very happy with my purchase. it's usb 3.0 so it's really fast too.
