Bought this for our 3 year old. You would expect it to be somewhat durable since it is a toy despite being advertised as collectible as well but it’s not. As another reviewer said, the wings pop out easily, although that is fixable. My biggest issue is that after some playing (and expected dropping) his head no longer moves and just makes a noise and the big red button that pops his helmet open is non functioning. In addition, he no longer makes the flying sounds when our son plays with him. For the price, it is incredibly disappointing that it would break so easily. Save your money. I wish we never bought it.

He wasn't interested in opening any other presents, bless him!Buzz is fantastic, and the features and phrases are great.There are so many he never gets bored, as has happened with cheaper versions!Buzz now goes everywhere with him.I've seen other reviews suggesting the wings are flimsy, however, we've not encountered this even when Buzz goes for a "fly" down the stairs!The quality and likeness to Andys version in the film is superb.Good price from Smyths too, compared to other retailers trying to take advantage of supply and demand issues. Buzz arrived in such good time! My son is obsessed so we just had to get him this for his birthday. Because of the pandemic we specifically ordered this with heaps of time to spare, but the shipping was so fast it arrived a month early. The only struggle now is fighting the temptation to give it as an early birthday present! Buzz looks incredible. His head moves when he talks and everything lights up (from what we can tell testing him from the box). Very happy with our purchase!
I am so, so disappointed by this product. At this price point, one would expect a working toy, but not only did the mechanical parts sound creaky, my product arrived with CORRODED BATTERIES. The entire battery compartment was filled with brown-black rust. Since this was a birthday gift for my collector boyfriend, I was severely disappointed and felt let down by the advertised "signature collection" that suggested a higher quality controlled product. I promptly returned the defective Buzz and have since re-ordered a new one (which is now delayed by over a week...thanks Target). Hopefully I won't end up with ANOTHER defective gift.If you can, don't waste your money and get one at the cheaper price point since it's basically the same thing.
I got this for my 5yo and he really liked it, but unfortunately it's really not made to be touched or played with.For starters, either of the wings will pop off a cheap plastic nub, (not much bigger than a pin) and effectively be broken until popped back into place by an adult. Because both wings do this I believe it's a design flaw rather than a lemon.It's also difficult to get him oriented the way you want for the price, he really doesn't like to stand up though you can get him into.All in all I was hoping for a higher quality product, it's a shame there's a market for this toy at this price.

This Christmas my son, now 5, requested a new Buzz as his old one was looking a bit battered (although still functioning perfectly). I ordered him online and he was swiftly delivered to me. However, on testing him out on 'Try Me' mode and still in his box, I discovered that his buttons were fitted very loosely and only his head would move, there was no sound. So, completely defeating the point of home delivery, I had to slog over to Colchester to get him changed.My son was very happy unwrapping him on Christmas morning, but I could easily see that he was nowhere near the same good quality as the Buzz bought previously. This Signature Collection Buzz lightyear is the most movie accurate available on the market. It features the original voice from the movies, with iconic phrases including "To infinity and beyond". This Buzz has wings that spring out into place - just like in the movies. Of course he has a laser which makes movie-accutate noises, and his helmet even makes that "whoosh" sound when it is opened or closed.He has the communications array on his left arm, and when this is opened, it even makes the sounds it does in the moviesIt makes for both a fun toy and a nostalgic collectors item. He has his laser and it is a little lightbulb that blinks, with the sound of the Spanish buzz laser sound from toy story 3! He has his locking wrist communicator, but you have to be careful with it because mine stopped working! But either way it is still a cool detail that I’m glad they added in there! This is the most amazing Buzz Lightyear that there is! Well worth the money spent. This Buzz is the most accurate to the movie, and is absolutely amazing in every way. Target has it at such a great price too! There are people online selling it for wayyyy too much. It’s a great action figure for any Toy Story fan, or collector. Brings back so many memories with this. I have the Power Up Buzz Lightyear as well, which is also a great figure. But signature collection is indeed top notch. Pretty great for any age really, but I’d say not to be too aggressive. It is a collectors item after all. However, Thinkway Toys does sell replacement parts I believe. I’m excited for the new movie! Can’t wait!
