I plugged in the device replacing a much older USB2.0 adapter. Windows 10 didn't automatically install or recognize so I inserted the CD to install the driver. First bad sign. After installing the driver, my wireless network dialog box kept refreshing on and off on the screen every few seconds said no Networks available, and I usually have a list of about 10 neighbors and had with my previous adapter. Open device manager that also kept flashing on the screen. Tried rebooting, same result. Pulled out the adapter and the flashing immediately stopped in networking tool. Wish I had done my research ahead of time. DOA and not working. Uninstalled the Driver and that sure seemed to take an awfully long time for a driver? Now I need to make sure nothing left behind. I was having wifi issues on TP-Link Deco M9, where one unit is 1 floor below me about 20 feet away. My old wifi adapter kept having packet loss so I tried this and the other AC1300 with an antenna. The other one was SIGNIFICANTLY better, no packet loss. This is probably great for a laptop or device very close to router but at range, it was terrible. 20-50% late packets with 2-10% packet loss each time. Using the other wifi card in the same USB port running same tests on network, yielded nearly 100% packets.

Great for the Price and Great Performance for wireless speeds. I am a gamer on PC and this gave me great wireless connection speeds for online games or checking my email. Would recommend this to anyone that needs a connection that is unable to run wires across the house. Best use in a blue 3.0 USB port but still works well in a 2.0 USB port. Just be mindful of the distance between you and your connection, has a great range but too much may slow your speeds.

A fried was trashing an old but once high end laptop. The hard drive and WiFi card had been removed. I needed a laptop with lighted keyboard to host Zoom meetings so why not see what happens? I installed an SSD and this USB Mini Wireless Adapter - now this destined for the bin laptop is working great! I'm impressed with how fast this WiFi adapter runs. Definately worth the investment as an upgrade.
I have a 5-year-old i5 laptop that I was very happy with. However, it was starting to slow down and would frequently drop its Wifi connection. I purchased and plugged in the AC1300 Mini MU-MIMO USB, and my laptop returned to its previous snappy performance. Apparently, it is now able to take advantage of improved wifi speeds and security. Installation was simple. There was no conflict with the existing wifi hardware. I still had an optical disk available to install drivers. I did not need to download the drivers from the internet. I recommend this product.
I struggled hard when I first tried to set this up with my PC: Windows 10 just kept dropping it from the USB devices list, like if I plugged- and unplugged it myself continuously (which was of course not the case). After multiple times of un- and reinstalling its driver, it suddenly started working - but still don't know why. I thought that I had a faulty USB port, but I had the same behavior when I tried a different one. In addition, just recently I had to move it to another port and I had to go through the same painful process until it started working magically again. I really thought I had a broken device, but then I came here and read that others struggled with the same as well. Therefore, I do not recommend this device to anyone - when it suddenly starts ... MoreI struggled hard when I first tried to set this up with my PC: Windows 10 just kept dropping it from the USB devices list, like if I plugged- and unplugged it myself continuously (which was of course not the case). I really thought I had a broken device, but then I came here and read that others struggled with the same as well. Therefore, I do not recommend this device to anyone - when it suddenly starts working, it works fine, but until you get there you may grow some gray hair. Also if you want to use it for online gaming, forget it - your latency will be too high.
You want to stream Netflix or YouTube? Play an online game on your PC? Forget it with this USB-Adapter. After ~40min it gets too hot and shuts down for 1 minute. Then it reconnects again only to disconnect after 5 minutes again. It really gets hot. I tried the 2018 + 2019 driver, different usb ports, usb extension cables, etc. But after tinkering for 4-5 hours I give up.
My wife's older laptop had some very slow Wifi speed. I decided to try this inexpensive workaround until we replace her laptop. This works very well. I had also tested on another older laptop which showed about 40Mbps download. The AC1300 gave that one about 200Mbbs download. Big difference. The only problem I had is that I initially used the USB port next to the wireless mouse dongle, which caused erratic mouse operation. But once I moved the AC1300 to the other side of the laptop it's been working great. I recommend this if you have an older computer with slow wifi.
For less than $20 smackers this wee device turned an aged hunk of Windows 7 memorabilia into a WiFi enabled screaming metal media playback machine that is certainly NOT stuffed with pirated movies & TV shows. Through the magic of radio waves, I can now stream the latest 100% legal and absolutely NOT PIRATED media from my 20tb NAS located downstairs and on the other side of the house. Through walls! Through floors! Past a worrisome 19 year old microwave that leaks gigahertz radiation like a fizzing neutron bomb! THIS LITTLE THING ROCKS SO HARD It installed instantly, though I did have to install the drivers from the (included!) CD because Windows 7 is ignorant and didn't know about this mysterious device made a decade after Win7's retirement. PROS: - stupid cheap - installs easily - works flawlessly - powerful signal / long range CONS: - small enough to swallow accidentally - cannot be used as a weapon as it is very tiny - I mean you COULD maybe put an eye out if you throw it - but don't do that
I bought this a few weeks back and haven't had a single issue. Plug-n-play easy peezy. My laptop wifi card failed and unfortunately its integrated so replacing it means more than I want to spend. This lil bute cost $17 plus tax and poof.... wifi works on my laptop again. I'm stingy when it comes to repair costs and this definately hit my budget. Walked in, grabbed on shelf, walked out.... great service from employees also.
