TP-Link EAP225-Outdoor - Radio Access Point

I bought it to use as a wireless access point for outdoor events. It works absolutely perfectly. Well made, waterproof (so far!), and has given me high speed connectivity every time. I'll definitely buy another from CCL when the need arises!

I have used TP Link products before but this time I am having trouble getting even a modest range of 10m far short of the maximum 300m on TP’s web site. Despite going through everything it is still disappointing. Have been in touch with TP Link direct to try and sort out.

Excellent product, especially when used with a controller. I purchased three of these and added them as a new site on an existing controller, linked via a VPN connection. We're in an area with very poor phone signal, and we can now use WiFi calling reliably, with phones moving between access points as required.Throughput on 5GHz is fantastic and range is good if sited in a high position. I've found it best to have the 2.4GHz antenna vertical and the 5GHz antenna horizontal - this gives the best coverage and speed.

Well-built external access point, easy to install with good, clear and simple software configuration via web type interface or Omada app. Connects back to the LAN via waterproof Cat 5 or 6 patch cable to a switch or router. There is no provision for wireless bridging. Gives excellent fast and reliable line of sight WiFi coverage to our 15m X 30m back garden and video streaming is flawless on both 2.4gHz and 5gHz bands. My only negative comment is that it's a bit expensive for a relatively simple access point. Nevertheless, it does the job well.

Able to split antennas with cable & withstands the sun/rain.

Is in an outside location and has withstood rain and sunshine for 1 month and no problems. Working when connected to a PoE CISCO switch (without the supply PoE power source), which makes it very helpful. We have also used a 10m extension cable for one of the "ears" so we can cover both sides of the staircase which protrudes outside the house. ie. one access point serving two discontinuous areas that cannot "see" each other. Seems to be working OK, although the signal strength reduced maybe 25% when we separated the two "ears".

Does what it says

This outdoor wifi extender really does do what it says. My outdoor wifi covers my whole back garden now.Better rhan I was expecting. Its also stabilised my ip cameras so no more drop outs in recording. Very good investment.

Easy to install, but you need two RJ45 cables to complete installation

I already have an Ubiquiti which I thought was very good, but this access point is significantly cheaper, and it is significantly faster, and it's resistant to outdoor conditions. What can I say. I am very pleased with this. Now I can work in my garden on my laptop with a high speed internet access.

Slow wireless

Slow wireless. Only up to 245 Mbps 5 meters distance. Have ISP with 1Gbps, long experience with professional networking. Support not to recommend. They only link, send you to their guides. Very bad purchases.

To-Link Easy Paesy to Setup

TP-Link Easy Peasy to setup and use. I needed an outside Garden wifi to link to security cameras and be available in a large garden. This was no problem. The only issue, if you can call it an issue was that you had to find somewhere to plug the POE adaptor in with incomining ethernet and then wire the POE to the TP=Link access point outside. Works a treat and so easy to setup from an Iphone app.
