Since the house is old (no cat 6e Jack's from router to bedrooms) I had bad speeds in my pc gaming room which was on the other side of the house using wifi.I prefer a wired connection but just couldn't be bothered getting under to house to run a cable.Buying this made my games room pc have good enough download speeds and now I am satisfied.Another bonus is our bedroom (also on the other side of the house) now also has great coverage so we can stream movies and shows to our tv.Side note wifi is much slower than a wired connection so dont expect you will achieve the advertised download speeds. The reviews were what made me purchase this product, but wow what a heap of garbage! Since day 1 this has caused trouble and I have just submitted a returns request as I am tired of it not working properly. Out of the box the WPS failed to work. After 3 attempts (all conducted as per the manual) it connected of sorts, but not all networks had been connected and there were some odd behaviours after this. So, I reset and then manually set it up. This seemed to go well but then the extended networks didnt have any internet connection. This was traced back to a naming convention where the device doesnt seem to work well if you use the same network SSID to the extended ones. To reset this it requires a constant power on/power off cycle to be done and still doesnt hold the connection after this. It should be much much better than this, but this is rubbish.

I have a double story, 642 square metre house. The top floor didn't have any internet range. We bought this device and it has extended the WiFi range throughout the entire house, immensely. We are heavy YouTube, Spotify, Deezer, Apple Music and SoundCloud streamers, so having this WiFi extender, is a game changer. We also use Zoom a lot for work and kids' daily remote learning. So far, no issues. It was super easy to set up. When we placed our order as Click & collect, it was ready within 20 minutes of purchase at Broadmeadows store. Highly recommended.

Easy to set up and works perfectly
18 September 2021

I bought this today. It was super easy to setup, you just download an app and it takes you through the setup process. It looks great and extends the wifi signal very well. I was able to stream 4k content without any issues. My only criticism is that the signal distance could've been a fraction better, they just needed to increase the power a fraction more, but it still offers excellent range (i effectively doubled my range). I think this would be perfect for 95% of customers so it gets my endorsement.

Easy to set up and works well

I used this to extend the house WiFi to a granny flat. When used in the right situation WiFi repeaters can work well. A few tips though: (1) when you set this up, do it from a portable device such as an iPhone or iPad connected to your house WiFi but located close to where you have the repeater plugged in. If you try to set it up from a device too close to the house WiFi, you'll get too much interference and won't be able to set it up; (2) WiFi repeaters halve your speed on the repeater segment, but you may not care about that; (3) Give the repeated WiFi networks different names (SSIDs) to the house WiFi networks, otherwise you won't be able to tell which is which on your WiFi connected devices; (4) The 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz connections on the repeater are not bridged, ... MoreI used this to extend the house WiFi to a granny flat. In my case, the repeater could just pick up the 2.4 GHz house WiFi signal but not the 5 GHz signal. The repeater set up fine on 2.4 GHz but not on 5GHz. The front light went red because the 5 GHz doesn't connect, but don't be tricked, the 2.4 GHz still worked and provided you connect your device to the repeated 2.4 GHz signal, all is good.

I wish I'd gotten one of these years ago, it would have saved me hundreds of hours of frustration. Highly recommended. edit: after a few weeks, the connection for the 5g drops out a lot, I don't know why. you are better off getting a mesh setup than buying this. the drop outs are getting to be incredibly annoying, sometimes for minutes at a time, i've checked if the router signal is still up and it is, only the extender has dropped. when it works it's great, but the drop outs seem to be getting more frequent. edit 2: it seems that the extender only has problems with its 5g receiver, if i connect it to the 2.4ghz network, it doesn't drop at all, and all this time it is projecting the 5ghz extended network, but when i connect it to the 5ghz network from the router, it ... MoreI wish I'd gotten one of these years ago, it would have saved me hundreds of hours of frustration. Range extender
10 August 2022

Good product. Had a Netgear extender and have had to constantly switch it off and back on again a few times a week. No good if you are relying on home automation. This Tplink extender I have had for three weeks and it has run seamlessly. The net gear extender one I have kept turned on and repositioned it and it has continuously dropped out. Tplink link is now my go to.

TP-LINK range extender

Purchased this after having connection problems to my computer (router -> 15m cat6 cable -> computer). I was getting irregular but frequent network drops. Bought this to try to solve my cable issue (running a 15m cable through the house was messy also). Now it is Router -> TP-LINK extender -> 1.5m Cat6 cable -> computer. I don't get the same high peaks in speed (46mbps anytime that my network was connected, still peaks at that but is now competing for Wi-Fi so it more often reaches 40mbps which is still perfectly fine). No network drops! Setup was very simple. Connected cable to pc and it automatically opened the TP-LINK settings page. Simple setup. Was up and running in minutes. excellent for reaching dead spots
7 August 2020

I only bought this a few days ago but it is already a life saver. Had been using an old cheap Netgear extender but it ran too slowly and the kids teams meetings with school was glitchy. Chose this after reading an article on the top 2020 extenders - this was not the most expensive - mid range in cost. Has bee a game changer immediately. 3 devices are now using this TP- link extender and its like they are sitting next to the real modem - the old extender would only take one device and worked poorly. We no longer have dead spots in the house. It took me ages to set it up though and I nearly gave up until I decided to give the extender SSID a new name when setting it up and then I could find it- prior to this I couldn't find it because it was the same name as the modem ... MoreI only bought this a few days ago but it is already a life saver. non-Au version sent with dodgy adapter
8 October 2020

Received the UK version of this range extender. They also sent a dodgy Australian adapter plug (without earth) which doesn't fit flush onto the unit. This also creates a leverage issue as it moves the centre of gravity away from the socket meaning it just falls out of the socket. This combined with the fact that the AU adapter plug has a fit that's too loose means I can't get this range extender unit to sit in a wall socket, it just falls out all the time. Given the time it took to arrive to me I start to wonder if this unit came from an Australian location, although that's speculation . The unit itself works perfectly but the fact that I can't actually get this to plug into a wall socket and not fall out really really annoys me.
