TP-Link RE505X AX1500 Wi-Fi Range Extender

Tried expanding the 1GIG broadband across 2 room and it didnt give a reasonable speed boost. When my laptop was closer to the the main router the speed was above 500 Mbps and when used the extender it can only give a max speed of 70Mbps with With 5GHz (Extender was connected wirelessly to main router thats 10~15 feet away)

Big Disappointment

I bought this extender along with the Archer AX21 AX1800 Wireless Dual-Band Gigabit Router in order to create a mesh network and presumably upgrade the wifi performance of an older router and extender. Having now used this for several weeks, I cannot say that I am noticing any real improvement in how my home network is performing. There are also too many inexplicable disconnections from the wifi system. I do not believe I have gotten any real value for the money spent on this.

Does the job for a small house with 7000sf lot

Easy, instant set-up for me via the app. Our house is 1200sf but the backyard was the problem. With the TP AX1500, I was able to draw the wi-fi farther out into the weakest area of the backyard—including a dead zone—with sufficient strength to allow for streaming outdoors on our ipads.

Excellent Product

I needed a strong signal in my attached garage to control my garage door with the myQ app. This extender was easy to setup using the Tether app. Plugged into an electrical outlet inside the house, in a hallway adjacent to the garage, and there was a four-bar wifi signal in the garage. As a side benefit it also improve the wifi signal in the living room. Couldn't ask for a better set-up. Highly recommend.

Filled my dead zone

Amazing wifi extender. I have tried another Netgear one and that didn’t seem to work and surprisingly slowed down my actual broadband speed. After further research this TP-Link was the best possible extender to fulfil my needs of speeding up the dead zone in my house which was my room. Installation was an easy 5 minute job. The photo attached was the comparison of my wifi speed before and after installing the wifi extender.

Great deal on a solid product!

Needed some WiFi extenders for house. I have a TP-Link router, so I figured using the same brand extender made sense. I don't have super fast internet (50-75Mbps max), so I didn't need the high end extender. Found these on eBay, checked for their compatibility with my router and ordered 2! Got the start-up guide from TP-Link. Setup was easy. One is used as a wireless extender. Just plugs into any wall socket within range of your router. The second is used as an Access Point where I have Ethernet. Similar usage but more stable connection. I now have solid WiFi throughout my house and backyard. BTW... much cheaper on eBay than New ;)

Plug and play

Does the job nicely. Practically plug and play. Needed this to extend the wifi to wifeys laptop that has very old wifi protocol. This wifi extender connects better down the back of the house then our old one thanks to the extra channels and wifi 6 protocol. Just make sure your router has wifi6 as well.

Reliable with great signal strength

This one extender has replaced two of the el cheapo repeaters. It has a great range and the signal is strong and consistent. It's easy to set up and has neat set up features, like on/off timer for the lights and power saving options. Everything works seamlessly now, from the lounge to the garden work shed. Very happy :)

Setting up the AX1500 RE505X

Easy to setup especially using OneMesh which connects the extender effortlessly to the wireless router. The Tether app from TP-Link allows easy monitoring and changes to the setup…if you feel it necessary. More devices can now connect at high speed to the internet. Great buy.
