Very good product and easy to use app. Rich notifications when out and about! Privacy mode for home which you can make short-cuts with widgets on iPhone without having to go in the app! I’m not sure if you can get a notification if power goes out???? Obviously you can add more of the same brand, very satisfied and wish I got one sooner..

A Handy Device For The Price

One problem is that it won't film through glass at night. It has three red LED's that shine onto the glass and all that gets recorded is white light - you don't see what's going on outdoors. I'm fortunate to have a sliding window in the kitchen and I sit it just inside this and it can be open 24/7 to watch the front yard at night. The app on the phone is great to have. I can see what is happening live, I can watch any recordings on it and if I wanted to I could talk to anyone around. It would be good for keeping an eye on a teenage party and you could let them know if you see behaviour you don't like. Lol. So it's great for recording anything indoors. Clear recordings.

Absolute junk and terrible customer service.

I bought this today for some added home security. It seemed to work fine for an hour while I was working it out, then I updated the firmware and that broke so many features. It no longer recognises the SD card, it can't format the SD card, it can't record video (its main function) and sends random error messages saying the SD card isn't working. I checked the SD card and it's fine since it was brand new.I called the TPLink customer support and spoke to a very unhelpful and rude member of the team who couldn't understand my problem despite there being lots of similar issues on their forum.I recommend paying a bit extra for something much better, I'll be returning the camera as soon as I can.

So far, I'm happy with it. I've had it for a month. It takes a minute or two to start up after switching it on (I unplug mine when I'm not using it due to the hacking risk; criminals hack into people's home cameras and watch them).There was once when I checked the camera when I was out and it said 'offline' and wouldn't display. I think my internet had dropped out and the camera wasn't able to pick up the signal again after the Wifi reconnected.

Perfect for our needs!

Purchased one of these for my parents house to monitor for potential intruders and their general wellbeing. Installed this unit in the kitchen covering the back door and part kitchen. The camera was an easy install and works for me well with the Smartphone app. Happy with the purchase.

Perfect for watching our puppy

This camera is so easy to install and use! It's much smaller than I expected it to be which makes it really easy to place. Set up took less than 5 minutes and the playback is really good. Love the 2-way audio so that I can talk to my puppy when I'm not at home. My husband can also log into the app on his phone to monitor as well. The motion and person sensors are really good, and you can change the sensitivity to get more useful notifications through the app, but I just turned it off as we're not using it as a security camera. The app is also great - no need for subscription and it's really user-friendly. I also bought a 128gb micro sd card to use for recordings and that works really well. Highly recommend!

Surprisingly Good camera!

Bought this as a cheap camera to watch the cat that sometimes comes onto my property. It seems to work fine Under My house, where the cat goes. really good night vision, as you can see in the photos I have included which compares night vision to normal vision. this is a odd thing but you camera mount the camera to a wall using a draw pin! overall i like the camera, and the fact that it's so cheap makes me not need to worry about it being damaged.

Surprisingly good

All these little cameras need is power and wifi. (True for all the Tapo range). Download the Tapo app and you can view them from anywhere there is internet. They are good little cameras with surprisingly good camera quality. They also have sound so you can hear as well as see. We wanted something quick and affordable.

good quality for price but need time to setup

just bought it for indoor placement, facing outdoor window. For day time, the video quality is good considering it is looking through window and flyscreen.Really happy with the ease of setup of the app. the app functions are a great and does everything i want it to do.Video recording and streaming is good.the bad...it takes some time to get the SD card recording function workiing. i had some issues with a sansdisk ultra that had been used in a previous dashcam. i formatted it on computer and still could not format it in the camera and app. purchased a brand news samsung evo card and when plugging it straight in couldnt get the camera to format it.tried turning power on and off at mains and still no luck but after searching on net, similiar people had same ... Morejust bought it for indoor placement, facing outdoor window.
