Really nice, neat UK smart plugs, extremely straightforward to set up on the Tapo app and connect to Alexa. Energy monitoring essential these days on high usage appliances and this works extremely well.

Amazing piece of kit

Never saw the point of these things before, but have to say this is excellent. Works like a dream through Alexa. A doddle to set up. Will buy more without hesitation. Saves electricity as my husband wouldnt faff around turning them on & off. Also so much better than the timer plugs I had before!

Best Smart plugs I've ever bought

I bought three sets of these when they were on offer, I didn't need any more plugs but I had been looking for smaller ones to replace a lot of the bigger round plugs I have all over the house. The fact that you can also see how much power you're using on each appliance with these plugs on the Tapo App is a bonus and makes them excellent value for money.I have a couple of extension leads that I use with Smart plugs, but the large round plugs meant I could only use every other socket on the extension.These plugs are much smaller, so I can use one in every socket on the extension as they're small and narrow so take up less room.. Even just using them on their own in individual sockets round the house, they look so much neater and less obvious.I already had the Tapo app on my phone as I've bought several TP-Link Tapo cameras from QVC, so it took about a minute to get each plug working on the App. I then named them for the various electrical items I was going to use them for, them it took only a few more minutes to get them working with Alexa on my two Fire tablets which I also bought on QVC.These Smart plugs have been the easiest I've ever had to get up and running. I've bought other brands of Smart plugs which I couldn't get working at all.I'm physically disabled and I'm in a wheelchair so having a Smart home is very important. I especially like to switch all my plugs off at night and even though I've my family at home at night, I can't rely on them to switch every plug off so I get Alexa to do it once they're all in bed.I have a few of them on timers to switch some lights on and off at certain times, which is very easy to set up and every family member has the Tapo app on their phones, so they can see what's been going on at home through the cameras while they're out, or switch on lights in the house if coming home late at night.I love everything about these Smart plugs and I'd definitely recommend both these and the Tapo cameras that are sold on QVC.

Pros: Compact, easy to use, great appCons: Would be useful if the app could aggregate the energy use across all the plugs, or groups of plugs. Currently have to go into each plug individually to see energy consumption.

Dissapointed

Saw these and thought what a great idea. However, dont have alexa and it appears tapo app. Asks you to subscribe? Rang and asked for technical support to call, but didnt come back.I thought this was a free app. So sadly sending back

Great Smart Plug

I already had a couple of these plugs but needed one for the Christmas decorations. Great to be able to program when you what the plug to come on and go off. I had to try and set this up a couple of times as it went off line, think it may have had something to do with a firmware update- all working fine now!!

Pros: Extremely straightforward to install, the app is excellent. The energy monitoring is very useful and the main reason I bought them.Cons: A minor point but it would be nice if they were a bit smaller, although I understand the constraints. I’d like to be able to group plugs together in the app and view aggregate energy use and statistics for the group, instead of only looking at each plug individually and trying to add it all up manually. A simple change that would be incredibly helpful.
