Pros: Excellent Router. The USB Mobile data alternative is a nice internet back up feature. Amazing given the price. Cons: Missing Link Aggregation - Would have nice to have. A frame to convert it/ hold it in a 19 inch 1U rack would also have been useful.

Have several of these in use in varying situations and all are working reliably. This is a pretty feature rich product especially for the price. It's easy to configure and has so far been stone-axe reliable. If you have remote office workers who need an always on VPN to your network, these work well even with dynamic, non-routable IP. I'll keep buying them and buying them from B&H because they ship immediately and have provided excellent customer service.

Good but quirky
24 November 2022

Solid router that had issues for the first couple days with my CenturyLink fiber. It would spin up the CPU/Memory usage and then disconnect from my Omada Controller. Turned off a lot of the attack defense settings and it has now settled down and been error free for several days. Solid replacement for the C4000XG router CenturyLink provided. Great integration with the Omada OC200 and SDN software. So far so good.

Good for home use
7 November 2022

I bought this router to use at home since i was building my own wifi mesh with the omada wall plate access points. I love the periodic automated speed tests and the detailed stats this router gives. I have not yet used the vpn or advanced features, but plan to do so. My one disapointment is the lack of a build in ftp server and usb storage for a cental backup that you get with even 10 year old consumer wifi routers, but i'll probavly work that out with a dedicated nas or just use and old router at 100MB speeds. I also bought the omada hardwsre controller and poe switch to go with this and my AP's and they all work great together for a fast and seeless setup using the controller.

Great home router with some enterprise features
2 December 2021

First let me say that this is a router and not a firewall. It does however offer some enterprise features and can be added to an Omada controller (software or physical controller) for cloud management. It also has VPN access and more. There's even a mobile app that can send you alerts about your network, so you'll know if your internet or power goes out or if one of your TP-Link devices goes down.So far everything has worked as expected. I strongly recommend getting the Omada controller set up on an always-on machine such as a server. You need to either understand networking already or be prepared to learn the basics. I've got my entire home setup with TP-Link products (switches, router, wireless access point, powerline/ethernet-over-power adapters) and it works wonderfully. I have my controller set up on my home server. A quick note for anyone who wants to get Omada set up on a Windows server: you need to allow the Java binary through your Windows firewall or it will never work.TL;DR: 5/5 highly recommended

Great little router
28 July 2022

I needed a router to setup in front of a home lab server to prevent it from being able to reach my primary LAN but allow it to get to the internet. Enter the Omada. You can manage it straight from the on-board GUI, no controller required like the Unifi stuff. Took about 5 minutes to setup a couple of IP groups and the related firewall rules and it does exactly what I need. This thing has a ton of features that I don't need for this setup, but if I was in the market for a ready-built router, I'd pick another one up in a second. Highly recommended.

TP-Link ER605 V2.6
6 January 2023

I bought this back in August. Being using for awhile now. It works great as a Load balancing router. I am having issues with the VPN part but that might just be me. This is Version 2.6 not Version 1 or 1.6. This has up to 3 RJ45 WAN Ports and 1 UBS WAN Port. I could not find anyone with the 1 or 1.6 ver. It works well with none TP-Link equipment. I have to routers in AP Mode to act as my WiFi Access points for my network. They do a pretty good job. I will but a TP-Link AP as soon as I get the extra cash to do so. But it is not a high priority. I like that I can add to it a piece at a time while using older equipment to fill in as I need to. But if your looking for a good Router I suggest this one for the price it can't be beat.

There is basically no competing product for this thing. It has all the features, it's reasonably documented, it's low powered, and it seems (so far) dead nuts stable. Works great - replaced FIOS Actiontec Router with
23 November 2022

My neighbor that I help out with tech issues was having intermittent outages with his wifi. I narrowed it down to his Actiontec MI424WR router from FIOS intermittently going down as not only could we not get to the internet but I also intermittently could not ping this router at 192.168.1.1 So we went to Microcenter that night and bought this wired router. My neighbor was not using the ActionTec's built-in wifi as he had a separate wifi mesh. Also the physical connection from his FIOS ONT (Optical Network Terminal) to the router was a Cat 6 cable and not COAX. So after doing some quick research this router seemed like it would work. The only confusing thing was is that TP-link refers to this as both ER605 and TL-R05. The box has it labeled as ER605. After we purchased it, we simply powered it on, took the Ethernet cable that ws connected to the ActionTec WAN port and connected it to the ER605 WAN Ethernet port (1st Ethernet slot on TP-Link). Then for all devices on the network we simply restarted the network (or you can just reboot) to allow the devices to get a new IP address. This was needed because the TP-link IP address range given is 192.168.0.x while the old ActionTec router was 192.168.1.x A few things to note: 1) Upgrade your firwmware and this is easy to do and can be obtained from the tp-link website. You need to make sure you get the correct hardware version for firmware (we had hardware version 2.0) 2) You can administer the router from just a browser by creating an account and log into 192.168.0.1 3) The DHCP Address range assigned is from 192.168.0.100 to 192.168.0.199 by default and can be changed. We left it at this. 4) TP-Link calls Static IP addresses as Address Reservation (I think). In the router you need to enter in the MAC Address (also known as physical address) of your device you are assigning a static ip too. You can get the MAC address from either the device itself or this router will list the MAC addresses for all devices connected to it and you can pick it off from there. We assigned static ips to all wired devices in his house, namely his wifi access points, printers, and wired desktop computers. 5) The firewall is on by default and we left that on 6) IPv6 on the WAN is disabled by default which is what you want with FIOS as there is a bug with intel ethernet chips and FIOS and other ONTs that prevent wired Ethernet connections from working properly if IPv6 is enabled. 7) We had no need for port forwarding or setting up site to site VPN as this is simply a home network Overall this worked great and my neighbor's internet access is now working great and I recommend it as I've used TP-Link before, I have a 48-port TP-Link Gigabit Ethernet Switch and helped my another friend buy and set up a TP-Link Mesh Wifi network So we went to Microcenter that night and bought this wired router. My neighbor was not using the ActionTec's built-in wifi as he had a separate wifi mesh. After we purchased it, we simply powered it on, took the Ethernet cable that ws connected to the ActionTec WAN port and connected it to the ER605 WAN Ethernet port (1st Ethernet slot on TP-Link).
