I ran into a situation with my ISP-provided router in that it only has 2 Ethernet ports and they are already being utilized. This switch has been a life saver! It was very easy to set up and I have had no issues at all over the last few weeks of using it! One small gripe I have is that the rubber feet were not installed by default. I guess this is likely in case you want to use the mounting holes. It wasn’t too difficult to install them myself though.

I recently upgrade my router to a mesh router set. My trouble was there was not enough ports for my older wired equipment like NAS, printers, Ethernet over Powerline, etc. This switch is a great companion to my new mesh now, which provide extra ports. It is cost effective. I am happy with its performance against my NAS. I also like the box running barely warm (it does not feel like overheating at all). If you have a situation like mine, definitely get one of these.FYI. Walmart feedback asks to rate about "battery life" and "user interface", there is no such thing to worry about as far as I know. So I didn't response on them. The product itself is truly plug and play. Set up is all physical, like plugging power adapter and network cables.

Easy to setup, no software or configuration needed. This is my second one. Give the 7 additonal ports to plug all my network gear and devices into. Plugged the second switch into the first one and everything is working as expected. TP-Link makes great products. My home is full of TP-Link network gear and smart devices. Best Buy customer service was great, they price matched with store.
My internet provider modem has only 1 ethernet port & no built-in router for wifi. My family has 5 game systems, couple laptops & handful of tablets & cell phones. To have comfort of mind while playing games on console, we like to be hardwired. The ethernet port splitter gives the ease of mind & play. The eeros router is connected to modem & the ethernet splitter is connected to back of eeros router. All consoles are hardwired including a laptop, with a few extra ports free just in case. There's 0 lag or interuptions, & our eeros routers (1 one used as hub, the other as extender) makes adequate wifi within our home & outside around the house.

The Netgear TL-SG608 8-port Gogabit switch is a great addition to any home network setup. It allows to expand an existing network without compromising speed and efficiency. This is a reliable and practical device. It is fully plug and play, no additional setup needed. The device is also wall mountable to clear out desktop space if needed. Durable and performs on point.
This 8-port switch works exactly as advertised. Being un-managed just plug it in and go. The metal enclosure is sturdy and side vents should provide adequate air flow. There are both mounting cutouts as well as included rubber bumpers. But there are a few things to note which is why IMO it it is not 5 stars.1) Ports & power orientation. With the power port being on one side and RJ45 ports on opposite this switch is intended for specific mounting/placement. Basically works best if situated at front of shelf with cables intending to be plugged in directly at front. In my particular placement at the back of a shelf it creates an awkward loop back of the power cable.2) Port lights - there is only a single light for each of the 8 ports and and while it is bright it is ...
