This smart plug has been working well to smarten up some lamps around the house. The Tapo integration with Google Home/Assistant is seamless, giving me "Hey Google, turn on the office lights" freedom.The Tapo app allows me to configure lights to turn on at specific times and/or relative to sun up/sun down.Only downside is that the iOS Siri integration feels clunky, in that you have to set up a "short cut" to action anything so you have to spend time setting things up that isn't needed on Android.

These are great for the price. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is because, as with pretty much *all* smart home stuff, you need to download yet another app before you can add it to Google Home, if you don't already have any Tapo products in your home. I use mine to automatically turn a lamp on when it's starting to get dark, and I really enjoy it - though I'm not super used to it yet and sometimes it gives me a fright lol. I definitely would buy more of these if I had a bigger house with more lamps and stuff like that, and I would also definitely consider other Tapo products in the future based on the quality and user-friendliness of this device.

Pros: Small, smart, Easy to use if install the TEPO app in your mobile / WiFi device. Easy to program.Cons: They use mechanical relays instead of solid state switches. Therefore lifetimemay be limited. The Tapo app is fairly specific; trying to run the device using generic apps e.g. the iOS "Home" requires expensive hardware hubs.

Good piece of kit!

Neat, unobtrusive and compact design. Works exactly as described, extremely easy to set up, using the app. Anybody could do it. Maintains programming even when power removed, (unlike previous design I had), and if you have Google Assistant/Alexa, only have to align once, thereafter, does it automatically.Ideal to for scheduled items, eg. drive lights, lamps, difficult to reach plugs, and can be controlled remotely.The P110 model, exactly same thing, slightly more expensive, but allows you to monitor energy use through the outlet, is better value in my opinion. I have both. It is also straightforward to use.Would strongly recommend!

Great Smart Plugs

Purchased smart plugs because we're trying to cut down on electricity so turning things off at night, the smart plugs make it much easier.It was a pain at first to try and figure out how to connect them to Alexa but once I figured it I did the other two with no issues at all. You just have to make sure that you connect them to the Tapo app first and then to Alexa. I've got one in the living room set to turn off and come on at a certain time, the two I have in my bedroom I turn off myself via my tablet and they turn on themselves first thing in the morning.I got these on offer, I'm very glad that I purchased them.

Great bit of kit

Bought this to control our kitchen LED under-counter lights. Set up was a doddle and took less than 5 minutes. Just download the Tapo app and follow the instructions, which are straightforward. You need to set up an account with Tapo/tp-link but they don't ask for any personal/financial details apart from your email address. There is an option to link to Alexa or Google and it found our Alexa straightaway. Can't go wrong for the price. No rating given for reliability as this is only day 1.

Pros: The TP LINK Tapo P100 works (though I haven't tried its fancier features). Important for me: it really does fit in a power strip without blocking the sockets either side. The set up was easier than it sounded and went through with no trouble.The sound quality is zero because this device makes no sound at all.Cons: I would like the app to be fully functional immediately on opening with no flaffing about with introductory panels and requests for reviews and network scanning - all just irritating.I would prefer the schedule to be expressed as a number of ON periods rather than as a list of ON and OFF times.I would like a clear statement of how the functions depend on other devices and services - ranging from continuity of mains power to any use of a TP server.

Pros: Very easy to set up. Excellent reliability, I now have 7 plugs and all work perfectly. The response is instant. Each plug works just the same whether you are at home, or controlling events miles away. Would like to purchase more, plus the camera if I can find a retailer who has them in stock.Cons: The number of retailers who stock the product is limited. I accept you can get by mail order, but sometimes you want to obtain purchases straight away, even an impulse buy, but if suppliers don’t stock and display then this is a problem.

Probably the best app for SmartPlugs around

I've bought a fair few amount of smartplugs from different suppliers but the P100 are definitely a cut above the competition. The plugs themselves are firm and feel premium. They are slightly on the bulky side when compared to others but this is a minor issue.The app is very nice though. The plugs were very easy to link and set up and it has a schedule to check for firmware updates on its own as well as a holiday mode where it can put the plug on/off at random times.I would recommend.

Pros: Wonderful to be able to ask smart speaker to "Turn on standard lamp". And it operates remotely (via WWW?) which shocked me. Clever. Can change thge hours a lamp is on as the nights get longer without scrabbling around for the mechanical timer under the sideboard or wherever. Simple and it works. Has a brother, th eTP110 , which also monitors the power used by an appliance. Simply too.Cons: Can take a little while to connect to your router but that seems to get better as your get more experienced. Is a pain if the plug loses contact with the router. We have one that did that twice. It is only c 8ft fram a repeater but did have quite a bit between it and router. Now less in its way and no break in service yet.
